Your characters are shuffling off to their rooms. Each room has their name beside it and only they can open the door. People can only enter their room if they're allowed in (or they leave the door open). Characters will find any requested items in their room already. If they have a requested vehicle, there will be another door in their room that will take them to the hangar to inspect their equipment.

Tough not to be. Back home, we'd just weapon up and head out. Waiting's tough on a girl who thinks with her fists.

[ self-deprecating. she knows he knows her brain isn't so out of the picture. ]

Well, you will have your chance soon enough. But there are still too many hours to stand around restlessly. [He gestures to the button.] Make use of what is here. I'm sure there are a few things that you miss that you cannot get in the village.

You'd be surprised how little I actually use that thing. [ or not. buffy likes to play material girl but with electricity back in the village there's really no massive difference. the one weapon she has serious ties to is her slayer scythe and beyond that people are what is most important to buffy summers.

but she is interested in his maps. ] Can you talk me through this spot? [ she gestures. normally, buffy doesn't put too much stock in the charts but something someone said to her is making her curious. ]

Hm? [He looks back at the maps on his desk.] Something specific?

Just...things to be aware of. What blobs correspond to what things. See, I'm not much of a map reader. More of a learn-the-land-by-experiencing-it girl.

Ah, I see. [He stands then, since this is a bigger map -- one he had been use to display as best he could during the barracks meeting. He points to the masses closest to the Distribution Center, spanning outward for the closest examples.] What we have here are the initial reported positions of the Third Party soldiers. Concentrations of soldiers, based on the Organization's intelligence. These red masses are concentrations of their normal soldiers -- metal manipulators, versatile in weaponry. These darker masses are the Elites.

But...here's what I don't get -- like a quarter of an hour into the battle, won't all this be basically moot?

[chikaidestroyer]

We are not looking at these maps to tell us what we should for a long-term term; they are simply there for us to project around. [He points to the northeastern corner.] Such as this. You are right -- a quarter of an hour into the battle, this will not be the formation of the troops concentrated there. But it tells us that the dropzone there is highly dangerous; if we were to send soldiers there, they would be surrounded immediately, with a formidable concentration of Elites right there.

[herotypical]

[ she joins albert, stepping to his side and pointing as well to that particular corner. ]

So how do I get on that guest list? [ implying that this would be her drop-zone of choice. ]

[chikaidestroyer]

[He smirks faintly at the question, shaking his head.] You do not. I requested that Sir Catherine allow me greater control of the dropzones for this battle. We will not be distributing our forces as we have had to in the past.

[He points to the center dropzone and the southeastern dropzone.] We will take control of the rivers, as they enter the perimeter of the Distribution Center. Our first priority will be driving off the soldiers at our flank and using the river to our advantage for long-range attacks. Since their soldiers will be split along the river, we will take over one bank and force them to come at us.

Do you want me heading in any specific where, or is my dance-card free?

[ she asks with her eyes still on the map. ]

[chikaidestroyer]

Do try to keep from heading straight into this; we will let them move towards us, rather than risk being enveloped in their larger numbers. [He points at the very high concentration of Elites in the southeastern corner.] Keep south of the river and head west until we have scouts properly scanning the area. Depending on how the northern troops react to our strategy, we will change our plans.

And in your expert opinion -- [ she turns, facing albert ] -- where do you expect the Shifters to show their shift faces?

[chikaidestroyer]

Where? In any of the high concentrations of farmland and livestock. They will have been there long enough to establish themselves there -- that is why there is a specific group that will be handling progression through those areas.

We do know that they affect the powers of the enemy soldiers as well, so they will not use their neutralization shifts in the vicinity of Elites. In fact, the overlap between engaging both Shifters and Elites will likely be very low, if they intend to use their soldiers wisely.

[herotypical]

[ a soft smile hits. ] Albert? That's the best news I've heard all morning.

[ the thought of being rendered too useless had been crippling; however, if she sticks in to the elites as best as possible, she may come through this without losing a thing. ]

I know the possibility of being completely stripped of powers is difficult for quite a few of our stronger fighters. I am pleased I could deliver somewhat good news, in that regard. [A pause.] You should be prepared, all the same.

I won't be hitting the battle without my crossbow. At least it only takes aim and not all those other fun things I'm hopefully not going to end up losing. [ crossing her arms. ] It won't be the first time I've had to fight without them, though. If it comes to that.
