Your characters are shuffling off to their rooms. Each room has their name beside it and only they can open the door. People can only enter their room if they're allowed in (or they leave the door open). Characters will find any requested items in their room already. If they have a requested vehicle, there will be another door in their room that will take them to the hangar to inspect their equipment.

((Mod note: Extra draftees won't experience their Shift Incompatibility handicap in their dorms. :|a))

I guess at least we're not under an ocean this time.

[She glances up at the voice, then smiles when she sees the navigator.] I think that automatically makes for an improvement, this time around.

I think you might be right. There's a lot more freedom of movement when there's a real sky above your head.

[She nods at the packs Raine is putting together.] Can I give you a hand again?

Of course you may. [Having Nami there to help was a big help last time... and it's nice not to do it all alone, either.] Indeed. There's a lot less pressure.

[She's not incapable.] Right now I'm still organizing the items, but some sets are ready to be put into the bags. [She gestures to where the items are set out-- laid across a board on her bed, then picks up one of the finished sets from the floor.] It's the same as I've showed you before.

[She just thinks that's the first time she's heard it. It's great.] Sure thing. [She'll come in and take a seat to start doing just that.] How have you been, otherwise?

I've been well enough, all things considered. [Ah, how to answer that. She's usually so guarded. She closes the door, trying to seem nonchalant about that movement.] Preparing for battle is just one way to focus the mind.

I think I could say the same, myself. The week...ended on a much better note than it started. [She gives a wry smile.] Apparently Luffy can only stay away from Luceti a few days at a time.

[Her eyes flick to the door, but she doesn't say anything about it.]

[That's right... she recalled hearing snatches from the network of the other woman's friends being sent home. But the journals had been fairly noisy, and there were all the mental things to consider as well.]

He just keeps bouncing back, doesn't he? Perhaps the world doesn't like to let go of him for long. [But Nami had gone once before as well. She wonders how difficult bridging the memory gap must be.]

[She glances back to the door.] ..."all things considered", huh? Survive the experiment okay?

That's another way to look at it. When you all can be safe together, he'll be satisfied. [Even though she can think of another person with a similar mindset who didn't get to see his wish of that happen. Hn.]

I suppose so. [And she also considers; there hadn't really been anyone to talk to about it neutrally with. Not that she often did so, but the candidates for that were slim. Most were too emotionally affected by it themselves for her to even consider them as sharing options.] How was it for you?

Hmm. [Her smile is faintly wistful, actually.] Fell in love with one of my best friends in Luceti. I could have done a lot worse. We'll get over it.

[Not that she's avoiding him now, or anything.]

The "getting over" is eventual. It just seems like the shift itself was stronger this time around. Not remembering it, being manipulated in that way... the feelings seem harder to disentangle.

Too many people knew about it. They insisted on having their fun. [As far as she's concerned, the only basis for such an "experiment" is sheer sadistic voyeurism.]

...I know what you mean, though. Getting caught up in it when you know it's fake is one thing, but...we had no basis to think it was anything but natural.

It flowed too smoothly. And then it leaves too much time for wondering where the experiment controls and does not. [Not knowing where the responsibility falls.]

... Yes. I have. [ Of her own choosing, even, when it would have been so much easier to avoid. Of course, with that draft list, it's not as if that was really an option. ] Have you?
