Your characters are shuffling off to their rooms. Each room has their name beside it and only they can open the door. People can only enter their room if they're allowed in (or they leave the door open). Characters will find any requested items in their room already. If they have a requested vehicle, there will be another door in their room that will take them to the hangar to inspect their equipment.

[He'll stop by after the meeting, before they head out. While Shikamaru doesn't know Masaomi all that well, he does tend to catch just about everything that goes over the journals. Between that and what little he's seen of him in these past few days, something just seems off about him today.]

[But this phone is so interesting, man! I can't help but stare at it and lurk in my room like a loser!

Seriously might want to get his attention or something and such, even if the door isn't locked or nothing]

[That he'll do, knocking on the door.] Oi. You alive in there?

[That's... the leader's voice, right. He stands, closing the phone to head back over towards the door. Dragging his feet, but]

Eeeh~ I'm not dead yet anyway.

Good. Because that would really complicate things.

[And there's really no way to be subtle about this - he doesn't know him well enough for it, and this isn't a situation where they can beat around the bush.] But seriously. Are you doing okay?

He swallows, and then puts on a harder expression]

[Jitters then. He nods, able to understand that.]

Anything I should know about?

Eeeeh... nothing which should affect the mission.

[That he'll men-- wait. actually]

...Well, there's one thing, but it's a secret.

[He tilts his head at that.]

That so? Troublesome. [He leans against the door.] But as long as it doesn't immediately effect the team, I'm not going to bother mentioning it to anyone else.

[generalflirt]

Well, it's more like you can't let her know I told you buuut... you're like the informant here? [And you seem like a better person than Izaya. You won't use it against them. He hopes. If he does, he'll just murder you. He sighs and settles back a little before-]

Kaori-chan is very capable despite this- [And now, a little more eye-contact] I don't know if you noticed, but she's blind.

[endgames]

[Not quite, but close enough. He nods.] I figured it out at the meeting. Wouldn't be the first blind girl I met who was. [He did meet Toph once.]

[Oh. This guy is good]

Well~ so long as you don't put her on recon it should be good!

Heh. I'll be sure to keep that in mind, thanks. Anything else?

[He shrugs here. And he tries to put on a flippant tone]

Eeeeh~ Nothing someone with a power like what you used on me and Temari-chan needs to worry about, right?

You'd be surprised. [He can only hold that for a few minutes as it is, and it's nothing compared to the things some of the people from his world can manage.]

Sorry to spring that on you without any warning, though. [An apology really is an order, he thinks. He doesn't regret doing what he did, but he needs the people on this team to trust him. He couldn't blame them if they didn't after a stunt like that.] Just wasn't looking forward to a fight in the middle of my strategy meeting.

Aaaah~ It's fine, it's fine. [It's not fine. But the fact that the guy's apologizing, even if he's not sure of the sincerity and can't trust it to be sincere besides already makes him one-up on Izaya, who is the inevitable comparison Masaomi is drawing for someone as intelligent as this boy who is leading them to a battle.

...But then he leans back and smirks, deciding to make it into a joke.]

Temari-chan is pretty touchy, isn't she?

[Somehow he doubts that, from his reaction back at the meeting. This guy is an interesting case, that's for sure. He's not quite sure what to make of him yet.

Even so, he can guess that he's probably not going to get to the root of whatever's bothering him from this conversation - Masaomi likely wouldn't trust him enough for that at this state. All that's left to do is take him for his word, and keep an eye on him on the battlefield.

So subject change. He will roll with that.] What was your first clue? [He grins.] She's easy enough to work with so long as you don't push her buttons.

Oooh~ So do you know quite a bit about her buttons, Shikamaru-kun?

[Flippant. So flippant. But the smirk here relaxes into a wry grin]

I- [Normally this wouldn't even phase him. But the comment comes right on the heels of the last experiment, and he's not quite as over that as he'd like to think he is.

To his credit, ninja training kicks in before any obvious facial tells can show, and he disguises the broken sentence with a cough.]

Let's just say she takes my very existence as a personal offense.

...That's pretty harsh, isn't it?

[And curious. The delay is noted, but without anything on his face he doesn't exactly have a tone to go on. So he just makes a pincer movement with his hands. Crab like. And then swooshes them behind his back before arching an eyebrow]

[He shrugs.] Women can be, at times. I've come to expect no less. Doesn't stop us from being able to work together when we need too, though.

But isn't that the appeal of a woman, Shikamaru-kun?

[endgames]

[It really is- WAIT. No. No it isn't.]

I always thought that women should be meek. [Yes, that is the past tense. He couldn't have worked with the women he has to for so many years and still think along those lines.] Barring that, I prefer it when they're less aggressive and demanding.
