We are the named and we are known

Who: All Draftees
What: Arriving at the dorms
When: 26th
Where: Dorms, location unknown
Summary: Dorm information is here. This is your room!
Rating: PG... we hope?

Your characters are shuffling off to their rooms. Each room has their name beside it and only they can open the door. People can only enter their room if they're allowed in (or they leave the door open). Characters will find any requested items in their room already. If they have a requested vehicle, there will be another door in their room that will take them to the hangar to inspect their equipment.

((Mod note: Extra draftees won't experience their Shift Incompatibility handicap in their dorms. :|a))

A conversation I had with Caesar. [dryly] He recommended a scout less obvious than a giant owl.

Did he now. [A slight chuckle.] I don't suppose there are too many books on training giant owls.

Even if there were, he is right -- a smaller bird would be more useful. Especially since there are few places for a large bird to perch in farmlands. [Even though that was not a reason Caesar had given, he had time to think about the pros and cons.]

Fewer places for it to blend in, as well. [A pause, as she considers.] You mean that you were planning on using the owl?

It was a comment. He happened to take me seriously. I have a feeling he cares more about the bird than he lets on.

It probably wasn't the bird he was thinking of.

You think so? Well, it's still a strange reason to protest. [He shakes his head.] But yes. The history of the carrier pigeon.

[She could say that it's not so strange, but he's already made his point on that.] Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

The recipes in the cookbook seemed interesting.

They are rather different, yes. [They were from a different culture in his world, after all.] Much more reliant on spice combinations.

Genis always used to tear his hair whenever I mentioned adding more spices to an established recipe. It makes me wonder what he'd think of this book.

I suppose it matters what you were trying to add. I'm sure Genis has a good grasp of spices.
