More in the later days (1st onward)

[So he was staying with his squad. Really, he is most of the time, but sometimes things happen and he gets pushed apart from them, particularly on these later days where he's needed to hold positions rather than take out shifters.

No doubt they or others are in the area (because what if he fighting for, if not to defend people) but Masaomi Kida is currently a blurr of motion, using the lead pipe in his hand (and indeed, anything else he might pick up from the ground) to beat up the enemy.

Are you one of the ones in the area of him that he is "protecting?" If so, let's rock]

[She may be one of the ones you're protecting, but Kaori's working just as hard to do the same if not more. In her hands is another one of the lead pipes Masaomi provided rather than her usual knives. Sometimes it was satisfying to just bludgeon someone to death.

It won't be long before she tries to use her earth magic, just for the freedom of knowing she can use it unrestricted.]

[And Frey's also nearby, keeping an eye on his two friends. He's also bludgeoning people, although with his staff rather then a lead pipe. His attacks are quick and effective, aiming for vitals to drop enemies fast.]

[Oh, Frey, you got that enemy down, right? Now with the foe on her knees (yes, it is a female soldier) Masaomi leaps upon her, bringing his pipe down on the back of her head repeatedly, finally shattering her skull after a few repeated blows.

Good, no chance of her getting up. Mind you, so distracted was he with making sure that one doesn't get up that another one with a spear is getting uncomfortably close to him]

[Oh fuck no, you are not about to lay a finger on her Human you damn soldier thing. Her first move involves shifting the earth beneath the soldier so that he sinks up to his knees, trapping him on the spot for the time being. Deciding that this isn't enough of a deterrence she proceeds to sing softly, summoning up a half barrier of earth around Masaomi so that the incoming soldier could touch him as she finally reaches the threat, switching her weapon from the pipe to one of her knives as she engaged in combat with him.

Every time the blade contacts flesh the hungry look on her face grows, a hint of a smile appearing when she took note of the spear he wields. It was nothing against a close range fighter craving blood, feeling the thrill of knowing she's protecting Masaomi and Frey even as more soldiers approach. She would slice every one of them to pieces.]

[Those approaching Soldiers are going to have a bit of trouble, though. Pausing in his movements, Frey's right hand glows a faint blue as a bright beam of light forms, blasting straight at the advancing enemies. The result being that some are badly charred, some scatter.]

[They are indeed in the area.... or at least Celty is, because she's been tailing him whenever she notices him straying from the others. She doesn't know what she'd tell Mikado if he got badly injured on her watch.

So, have a shadow scythe slice through the soldier coming up on your blind spot, Masaomi.]

[You know... that is surprising. He turns to see Celty and- ...Well, no matter how much he sees her fight it's unsettling. He actually starts long enough to have another soldier with a mace get too close for comfort, and despite making a quick crouch to die, he gets a glancing blow on his side. Hissing, he makes a sweep kick to the enemy's shin, tripping him up a little]

[come on, there's nothing that unsettling about a headless woman in black with a scythe. right?

She slices through another enemy, sending him crumbling. There's no way to talk in battle but her helmet turns a bit towards Masaomi to scrutinize. No life threatening wounds yet?]

[Nope, none. But now he looks down at the ones Celty has felled here, distracted a moment. Just like that? They're dead just like that...?]

[Gold's definitely in the area. This was one of those times where he decided to split off from Simon and fight solo; he couldn't do all the work from Gurren Lagann alone, right? In his world, a Pokémon Trainer fights alongside their Pokémon, and now was no different.

Still, he would be damned if he was about to let one of his friends get hurt on his watch. So, Kida, watch out for that newly formed block of ice that's encasing a soldier that was about to strike you from behind.]

[Not that Masaomi was unawares of the one behind him. The ice encases it and he... well he was going to turn and punch him in the face, so the sing connects on the ice. That smarts a little, but he can count that enemy bested, right? Or at least bested enough to focus on someone else. So, turning, he leaps off back a bit and brings his pipe to bear on a new foe.

It's a mechanical sort of process, really. Hope you don't mind no vocal thanks, Gold.]

[Gold can claim Masaomi's thanks later. In the meantime, he focuses on mowing down and charring to a crisp one of those nearby soldiers with a well-aimed Flare Blitz.]

Hey, Kida, try not to get yourself killed out here! I'm not too keen on draggin' your corpse back!

I'm not going to-!

[He has to do it for Mikado, you know? The pipe broadsides the head of one of the soldiers here, and then discarding that, he slips behind that same foe and rips - hard - at their wings. There's a snapping sound as he breaks the bones on its back. The solider crumples]

[Kida, do you mind if a missile (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Grd7EIS1AQk#t=02m00s) strikes a group of enemies that were near you? Hopefully not, because that's exactly what's going to happen. But don't worry, it's far enough where he probably won't get hit by the explosion. The shifters hit are probably sprawled out on the ground in pain, though.

And the source of such attack will finally make her presence known as she lands on the grass just a few feet away from Kida.

[Okay. That actually distracts him long enough to look at her. The fight is interrupted anyway. He almost can't believe it... but]

...Noel-chan?

[He'll get to picking off those soldiers soon. There might be more a ways off, too. But mostly, let's focus on her for this brief moment]

[All enemies appear to have been taken down in the general area. There's no immediate threat, but... is someone calling her name? It sounds like...]

Noel snaps out of it, looking to the source of it.] K-Kida!?

[When she snaps out of it she might see him glancing at her with a very bloody shovel in his hands. He had to just beat in the skulls of those ones clinging to life, after all. Or well, at very least this one below him. Make sure they can't get up]

[Hey there Masaomi, remember that creepy little warning this creepy little girl gave you the other day? Cheyenne is certainly within sight, but still keeping her distance from the others for now. She's tearing the souls out of a small group of soldiers, their screams echoing as they fall life-lessly to the ground. A silvery fog is all that remains of their shredded souls.]

[Unfortunately, it's while absorbing this strange fog that Cheyenne finds herself surrounded; another small group that's been watching her comes over from behind, eyes closed as they stab blindly in her direction. Before she can try to escape, two of the blades make contact, one piercing her neck.]

[And even as she falls to the ground, they continue their attack. After all, this isn't the first time she's been "killed" by this particular group.]

Cheyenne-chan!

[And now, abandoning his pipe and readying his fists, he races towards that scene. The enemy has their eyes closed anyway. And he has the advantage. He can't freeze, he won't free. He allows the rage to overcome his terror of ending up the same as Cheyenne]

Bastards!

[The first punch his brutal - it hits the one who impaled Cheyenne's neck clean in the face and sends him flying onto his back almost a yard backwards. The next enemy moves in to attack, taking note something is wrong, but Masaomi proceeds to punch him hard in the gut, winding them and making them drop their sword. Masaomi catches it, and uses it in an awkward strike to broadside a third solider in this same group in the side.

All of this happens in a blurr]

[The wound to her neck makes things quick. The ground around her quickly begins to turn red with blood and she's long since stopped moving.]

[And yet that feeling, that overwhelming sense of negativity that always surrounds her while at full-power, is still very-much present. But this is different than her touch: the feeling is dread. Anxiety. Even feelings of rage and anger seem multiplied.]

[Cheyenne had already been covered in blood, the new wounds only adding a fresh coat. And one of the soldier's daggers is still stabbed into her side.]

[Oh, he feels it. But right now he's seeing red too much to know he is. Because he's nothing if not practical- he rips the dagger right out of Cheyenne's "corpse" to shove it right into the neck of one of the soldiers, his eyes full of hate. Mind you, this kill earns him a large gash to his side from the sword of one of the others, but he doesn't even seem to notice]
