Summary: People in Luceti wake up as something they weren't before. An elf, a gremlin, a vulcan, or perhaps a mermaid? Try living in someone else's shoes... if they can even wear those.
Rating: Not recommended for those with weak constitutions, raging hormones, shipping goggles, or people just too cool and attractive for this kind of thing.

[And, perhaps predictably, he slips from the branch as he tries sidling back towards the tree trunk. Fortunately, since he still had his hands above his head, he's able to thrust his arms down and grab onto the branch. There's a thump and childish grunt as he holds on, more surprised than hurt.]

Hey!

[He sees him slip and reaches forward instinctively, though he's far too high to be of any help to him anyway. A sense of relief comes over him when he sees his brother still hanging on, but wow, that was... scary.]

A-are you all right? I think you almost gave me a heart attack!

I-- I'm fine. [Albert wheezes and continues clinging to the branch, trying to judge what to do. This little body already ached, and he tries to catch his breath.

...]

I'm not sure I can pull myself up.

[O-oh dear.]

I'll pull you up. Just hold on, all right?

[He starts climbing down the tree. He steps onto the branch Albert's holding on to, and he uses the trunk of the tree to help him keep his balance. He reaches out to his little big brother.]

I can't help but wonder if you're doing this on purpose!

[Albert blinks several times at the tree branch, tense and all too aware that this is pretty dangerous. In his new body, he could get hurt if he fell out of the tree.

He tries to grab Caesar's hand, missing the first time. With a frustrated sound, he tries again.]

Stop making stupid remarks at times like this!

Stop complaining or I'll let you fall.

[But regardless of whether or not he protests further, Caesar roughly grabs his hand the second time Albert tries to grab it, and he'll start pulling him up. He may not be strong by any means, but his brother is currently small enough that it shouldn't be too much of a problem.]

[Albert flops sideways onto the branch with Caesar's help, and he lies there awkwardly while he catches his breath. He grumbles something inaudible that may have been a word or two of gratitude.]

[Caesar takes a breath once he's sure his brother won't be falling off that branch, and he sits down on it, too, closest to the tree. If he heard Albert's words of gratitude, he isn't showing it. In fact, he doesn't even speak up right away. He allows the silence to linger while the both of them catch their breath.]

I told you to be careful, didn't I?

[Albert mumbles against his arm as he rests his cheek against it, sighing.]

I was being careful.

Well, you're okay, so I suppose it doesn't matter. [He shrugs.] Guess that's why you never bothered trying to climb trees before.

[There's silence from Albert as he frowns at Caesar. Then he relaxes against the branch.]

This was a stupid idea.

No. [But even as he says that, he dangles a leg off of the branch, swinging it idly.] How about you?

It wasn't so bad until you lost your balance. [This whole thing had been pretty different, and weird, but it wasn't bad until he almost fell.] It's been so cold that I haven't been able to climb a tree in a long time, so it's nice.

...I suppose I was enjoying it until I became too preoccupied. [He makes that contemplative sound, taking a deep breath.

Then he rolls off of the branch, grabbing on with that same deftness that had helped him scale the tree in the first place. He looks down at the ground from his dangling position, but only for a moment.

Then he lets go, falling onto the grass and leafy debris below.]

[Caesar looks over at him when he makes that sound, and it startles him a little when his brother rolls off the branch. At least he can tell that this is a deliberate action, so he's not worried about it—he can (and will) do just about the same thing.]

...I don't think I would climb trees in my normal form. [Albert tilts his head up to look at Caesar, dusting at his clothes. Then he averts his attention to the surrounding forest, heading in the direction of the log he had been balancing on before.]

I suppose not. But you won't know until you try. [Even though he doesn't really expect him to, and he probably won't bother Albert about climbing trees in the future once he returns to normal. ...probably. When he sees Albert wander off, Caesar will drop down from the tree as well and follow after him.]

Where are we going?

Nowhere in particular. I just wanted to ... be out here. [You know, giant wolf be damned. He hops up onto the log, following its length until he's reached the end of it. He hops to a big rock not far away, stopping to get his balance before jumping onto a tree trunk.

Looks like he's found a new game to play.]

[Caesar just walks alongside Albert at first, at least until he realizes what he's doing. And when he does? He decides that he'll join him. He didn't care how old he was, this would always be fun.]

Sounds like fun. We should go out for more walks now that it's getting warmer out. [Even if they weren't quite, you know, like this.]

Perhaps when it's not raining.

[He smiles slightly at the thought, but that may not be visible as he keeps finding another hopping spot to head to. Soon enough he's gotten to another fallen log, which he races across to climb up a big rock it is sloped against. He looks ... accomplished.]

Good idea.

[He may not be able to see him smile, but he's content enough with his response. He follows him, walking along the fallen log, but he stops when they get to the rock—Caesar doesn't mind watching him as he climbs up, noticing the strange sense of achievement his brother suddenly has.]

[Albert snorts from his new perch, leaning on his knees after he has taken a seat.]

You're making fun of me again. It's this body, Caesar.

[The way he says that, it almost sounds like an excuse.]

[He smirks, shaking his head.]

I wasn't making fun of you this time, Albert. I was just surprised.

[He wonders if Albert ever had that kind of energy when he was younger. He'd probably deny it, but he was a kid once, too, after all.]

[He definitely had the energy as a child; he had to keep riding those horses somehow at that age.]

You shouldn't be that surprised.

[He bangs the heels of his shoes against the rock face, almost impatiently. And he looks around like he wants to do something else, but doesn't know what.]
