When: 9 AM of the 3rd. They'll be able to stay there until 1 PM of the same day.
Where: Dorms; location unknown.
Summary: Here is the hallway; here is your room. (Here is some additional info.) Go forth and mingle.
Rating: PG or PG-13 ish, I imagine.

Whether by their own power or by droid, your characters are arriving one by one to the dorms. Each room is specific to a single character; others can only be invited in by that character's allowance. Requested effects will already be present in the rooms. While you're here, you may want to request some last-minute supplies... this is your final chance to gather them. A final note: Shift incompatibilities will not kick in while characters are in the dorms; only once they are out in the field.

[He goes to the intercom and asks politely for a tea set on a small tray, then it appears on the bed.] Well that certainly came out of nowhere.

Those shift things they do are really bizarre. Why can't they always treat us to a hotel suite? I guess we have to kill people for them before they give us any perks.

Yeah, but no rewards this time. Kind of wish they just get rid of the entire war thing all together without getting us involved like this.

Not that I want them to fight either, I am a pacifist for the most part, but I...ugh.

[She is tempted to take another glass of scotch, but instead opts for the tea that was delivered. As expected, she doesn't sip it very gingerly and her expression turns pain.]

Ack! [She quickly sets the cup down, afraid of dropping it.] I got burned! [Being a dream did have its downsides. Never really needing to drink tea, and not knowing how to gently handle it, is one of them.]

Oh goodness, you need to be careful. This is your first time drinking tea, isn't it? [He holds his tea cup like a gentleman would and gracefully sips the tea.] At least they didn't overdo it with the sugar.

[She looks down on it flatly, perhaps trying to bore her eyes into the evil hot cup of tea, and grumbles.]

How was I supposed to know.

[She tentatively goes to sip it again, being cautious and making sure to sip it slowly and in small doses to avoid another tongue burning.]

[He sighs and puts a hand on her shoulder gently.]

[The touch makes her wince a little, but she quickly relaxes and huffs out a breath.]

This really makes me mad. I'm a psychologist, not a fighter or someone who can use a sword.

Huh? You don't need to apologize. I'm just not use to it. [Being touched in a dream is one thing, but being touched as a physical being seems like a completely different experience. Everything about the 'real' world is to her. The colors, the smells, the way things taste, its so unnatural and yet more natural than she ever knew.] I guess I'm just lost in too much thought.

That is understandable, Paprika. [He continues looking at her and sips his tea quietly.] Being human does seem unreal as compared to being a dream, doesn't it?

Ironic, but yes. I feel heavier for starters, I have to eat, to sleep, to do things I never had to do. [A sigh.] I think I'm just complaining because of the situation. They turned me human before, but not in this kind of case. [She pauses and takes a drink of the tea, a lot more contained and gentler this time.] Sorry for whining.

No, its okay. Being a psychologist is really a lot harder than just listening to people.

That's what they all say. Then they find out that psychology isn't all centered around Freud and wind up complaining. [She giggles under her breath, a bit more relaxed by the topic change. The alcohol helps too.]
