Ya should consider yerself lucky fer not bein' dead already.

[He gulps, taking another look down the gorge.] We don't have ta directly jump straight to the bottom, it's not a clear vertical drop. There's some ledges we can easily jump to.

You ready, then? Because from what I hear, they're gettin' closer, lad.

As ready as I'm ever gonna be.

[He grabs one of the vines himself, if they can't be used to absail it, they can at least come in handy for whipping someone when they're about to die.]

You first! Bein' called Raven does not mean I can actually fly.

[So Jack jumps for it, angling his wings in order to try to break the fall and land on one of said ledges. He manages it; the ledge is not more than two feet wide or so, but it is sturdy and he feels it could support the weight of two people. The pirate beckons the other man to follow.]

[Raven follows suit, jumping much further down than Jack. If there was one thing he was very good at, it was magically appearing from high places. What doesn't help is just how slippy the ledge is, causing him to slide forward, barely regaining his balance.]

Rainforest, right...

It makes me love Raven so.

YOU ALRIGHT, LAD?! [Jack is getting ready to jump again; they are maybe halfway to the bottom of the gorge, now.]

And he loves you too

I'm fine, I'm fine. Just a minor under-estimation. [He sighs, carefully eyeing the next ledge to jump onto. He spots one a few feet down, not as far as his initial jump, but it doesn't look like one he'd slip on. So he's going to jump for that.

And with such a graceful landing! The judges raise up cards 10/10/10!]

Raven, lad! You're rather like a monkey! [Jack targeted his next ledge and leaped for it, and rather overshot, and ended up having to splay his wings to their full span in order to glide the rest of the way down. The winds in the gorge were playing havoc with his approach, though; he saw no alternative but to land in the river.]

WHOA!

[Raven ran along the edge of the ledge, trying to get ahead of the current pulling Jack along. Remember those vines from earlier? He throws the end of one down.]

Grab onto it! Yer gonna get washed away!

[all7seas]

[Sparrow clutched onto that vine with a lucky catch.]

Raven! You're savin' my life, mate! You're a hero!

[Then a wave hit him in the mouth and he had to shut up.]

[He jumps down onto the river bank, keeping a firm grip on the vine, Thank god he's surprisingly muscular :|a attempting to pull Jack closer.]

A hero is a bit of an overstatement, pal! There's still Third Party folk headin' our way.

[yet another reason I am eerily attracted to him The attempt is a good one. Jack kicks and fetches up against submerged rocks and swallows some water. But he is GOOD in the water; it is his element, and he has survived rougher waters than this. He hauls himself dripping up the bank.]

Aye; and all my powder wet, likely. Come on, lad---let's run for it, eh?

[They can either run UP the gorge, toward the waterfall, or down the gorge and into the unknown.]

Sounds like the best plan we've got fer now!

[Raven sets off away from the waterfall, it's a dead end up there anyway, they'd be better trying to head towards the base camp if possible. Then they can catch their breath again.]

Stay close to the wall, mate. Somethin' tells me those flying bastards won't want to risk the unusual air currents in this place. They could be blown straight into the walls as well as fly in here, lad---mark me.

[Jack only took a few swallows, but it was enough to fortify him for the rest of the trip. Good Spirits would be seeing a lot of him when he made it back to the village.] Cheers to us not-dying, eh?

I'm not gonna trust our luck just yet, we might be safe fer now, but they could show up again any minute. We'll celebrate properly when we're at camp.

[Oh, how much he hates being a party pooper. But he needs to survive.]

I'm not sure ridin' the river is a good idea. We've got no clue just how far it goes, we could end up bein' dumped at the ocean a hundred miles away!

Or we could just... ya know, not ride it the whole way. [It's only now he's realizing how stupid what he just said was.]
