you're in the jungle, baby / you gonna die

Who: All draftees
What: Fighting the Third Party... and perhaps the wildlife.
When: June 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. (Characters will be pulled out at 11:59 of the 6th.)
Where: An as-yet unmapped by the Malnosso tropical rainforest.
Summary: Here are your details. Try to stay alive, won't you?
Rating: Anywhere from PG to R.

No cut for you. Most of you will know how this works by now; if you don't, follow the lead of the others, or perhaps look to the last draft's fighting post for ideas. Don't forget to use your handy dandy character tags. Go forth and conquer thine enemies!

Well, technically two - it was just Ami and Helios that were actually going to go sailing with me.

Oh, well. Jack is more likely to pout and grumble a bit than he is to hurt anyone. Besides, last I knew, I was on his "crew."

[The quotes are audible.]

Can you do that? A Navy man who's also a pirate? Seems like treason should be involved somewhere...

I'm neither a pirate nor a navy man. [He lounges back expertly.] I cannot go back to England, and a little excursion on a little boat with a friend is hardly piracy.

It's not as though Jack even has many opportunities for real piracy at the moment.

Since he seems to do most of his work on that bridge, doesn't that actually make him some sort of bandit?

Except that he isn't even stealing anything that can't be taken for free anyway.

Stealing means that he's taking something without permission. It doesn't matter how much it cost, or whether it cost anything at all.

Petty theft. Still theft. I'll accept that "marauding" is his own wishful thinking, though.

Clinging to a way of life he can't really have here.

Plenty of villagers try and do the same.

Of course. I've been making quite a fuss that they haven't had a single whiskey here that tastes like it does at home. I can't see why Jack can't misuse the word "marauding" to make himself feel a bit better.

He's perfectly free to do so.

Just as I'm free to object, because we don't have pirates back home.

Makes your life that much easier, at the very least.

One less thing to worry about.

We still have, um, thieves and the like. Bank robbers, muggers...still, no pirates.

We don't have the right sort of highways anymore.
