Where: Outside the Welcome Centre
Summary: Finally, the time has come to get Luceti's memory garden on the road.
Rating: ...I sincerely hope this won't go above a PG rating.

Early on Sunday morning, Link can be found outside the Welcome Centre - gathering seedlings and seed packets, setting aside a willow sapling, laying out gardening tools. When it's still fairly early by the standards of most people, especially for a Sunday morning in summer, the following message will go out over the journals:

"Hi, everyone! D'you remember the garden I talked about earlier? Well, all the beds have been dug and I've got lots of plants, so come over to the Welcome Centre today and plant something for your friends that have gone home!"

If anyone heads on over, they'll find Link sitting back and relaxing, keeping an eye on the piles of gardening implements, small pots of seedlings and packets of seeds and a collection of bulbs, and a large sheet of paper and bundle of pencils. Across the top of the paper, the words, 'Leave a message for friends!' is written, and Link has already written the first message - 'Hi Vivi, I hope you like the gardens! Love Link'.

There will be snack runs over the course of the day. And if he can convince certain people, live music. Remembering friends, being outside on a sunny day (refreshing after yesterday's storm!), nice food, and music - what could be better?

"I could put some seed packets in my hat and you could pull one out?" he suggests with a mischievous grin. Floral lucky dip!

Grune giggles. "Oh, that sounds like a fun way to decide!"

Now she's looking around for seed packets, having taken Link seriously.

The fun part is, Link had been serious too.

"They're over there, near the seedlings," he says helpfully, starting in that direction.

"All right! I'll go get some."

She meanders off to pick up a handful of packets, then returns, holding them out and smiling.

With a grin, Link whips off his hat. What is brushing hair. "Okay, put them in here, and I'll shake them up. Then you close your eyes and pick one out!"

One of her best friend is a mountain bandit. She's used to this sort of thing.

"All right!" And she dumps the packets into his hat.

Closing up the end, he shakes it vigorously, hoping that none of the packets open up. Then, he holds it open. "Pick one!"

Smiling, Grune closes her eyes, reaches in, and comes up with…. "Bachelor buttons! Oh, these are so pretty."

"They're the same colour as the sky!" Link observes - indeed, the zenith of the sky is a rich cornflower blue. "Those are nice."

Of course, Grune immediately has to tilt her head back and look way up to the sky. "Yes, they are! How lovely!"

"We could plant them near a yellow flower - that can be the sun," he decides, scanning for anything suitable. "Or white ones, for clouds."

"Or we could plant them near both," she suggests. "Then we could have the sun and clouds."

"We can make a whole sky!" he grins, then upends the hat, pops it back on his head, and starts sorting through the seed packets that now cover the ground.

Hmm... white or yellow...

"Then we should plant lots and lots of bachelor buttons," she agrees. After all, the sky is very big.

"Uh huh - oh, hey!" He points - near the wall is a slightly sloping bed, still bare. "Maybe we can make a sky there - we can even put some green plants at the bottom for pretend trees."

[lostinmyway]

"And grass. Oh, and flowers!" she exclaims, not quite seeing the problem with her suggestion.

"But they're already flowers, aren't they?" Link frowns, blinking a little. "They'll be too big."

[lostinmyway]

She looks confused. "Would they? Maybe we could plant really small flowers to be the flowers."

[blessedbyfarore]

"Oh... maybe," he chuckles a little, "How about we do the sky first, then decide on the ground?"

"That sounds like a good idea."

Link is so smart.

Smart? He. Hasn't been told that before, huh.

"Okay! What should we use for the clouds?"

[lostinmyway]

Grune tends to have very high opinions of her friends' intelligence. Moses from the Legacy in particular appreciates this, since he gets called "smart" about as often as Link does.

"We could use cloudflowers," she suggests, but then she stops to think. "Hmm.... Do you think they might be a little tall?"

He considers for a moment. "Maybe we could plant the blue ones, and have the cloudflowers above them? That might look nice!"

"Oh, so it looks like the clouds are floating up high." Now she understands! "That's a wonderful idea!"

"Uh huh! And the sun should be high, too." ...Brainwave. "A sunflower!"
