Luceti Land!!

Where: A veritable pleasure island, east of the Beach Fort.
Summary: An amusement park has popped up in Luceti. It's all over here.
Rating: F is for friends who do stuff together!

Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

[Excuse him as he walks a little forward, eyeing a relatively harmless looking wooden roller coaster.]

I wonder if Anne would go on this one... [Yup. Prim and proper Anne. She'd totally do it.]

[Ororo takes a moment to sigh and nurse her hurt pride. Old. Which she was, technically, compared to her students but. It still stung more than it should have. Ow.]

[She sighs again, long and deep.]

... All right. Just one, Kurt.

[bamfing]

[Hey, he never called her old. He merely implied she saw her that way.

He'll feel a little bad about that later, but he accomplished what he wanted to, so he turns back with a smile. He manages to disguise the satisfied smirk he has underneath.]

Ahh, really? Great! [He backs up and offers her hand, for easy teleportation.] Ready?

[You're going to feel terrible later, Kurt. What has Ororo ever done to you?]

[In any case, she takes that offered hand cautiously. Thinking he only wanted to lead or drag (she hopes it's the former) her to whatever ride of his choosing.]

As I'll ever be, I suppose. [Which is... no, not really!]

[bamfing]

[Anyone who takes Kurt's hand should know what's coming, especially if they're an X-Men. Because they abruptly vanish, reappearing right where the seating is for the roller coaster. Thank goodness for short lines.]

So, front or back?

[She should know better, yes, but she's almost never had to travel by bamf before. Meaning she still hasn't quite gotten used to the burst of sulfur and brimstone, or the vertigo that comes with teleporting. She's too dazed to make a decision!]

... Whichever you prefer, Kurt. I'm sure it doesn't make much of a difference.

[bamfing]

Ahh, excellent, front it is!

[He'll just hop right on in, feel free to sit beside him, Ro.]

[Sliding in carefully, then! She clasps the metal... seatbelt bar thing when it lowers and wills herself not to be nervous. She's faced far more terrifying things, to be scared now would be kind of. Ridiculous.]

[bamfing]

[Kurt just turns to her, grinning wildly. He got 'Ro on a ROLLER COASTER. How cool is that?]

Ready?

[Not cool at all, okay? ... Well, it's hard not to smile back at Kurt when he's grinning like that. She manages a sincere one for him.]

As I'll ever be.

[At that, the coaster starts up! Ororo takes a deep breath.]

[bamfing]

[Good. Because Kurt turns ahead, just as the ride starts inching forward. This really is a big, fast, and rickety wooden roller coaster. They only LOOK less dangerous than the metal ones.]

[Now you tell her. Ororo is starting to regret - no, that's a lie, she'd started regretting the minute Kurt bamf'd them over to a ride of his choosing.]

[Still, it - it isn't so bad, so far, as long as Ororo tries not to think about those ominous creaks in the wooden coaster as they rapidly pick up on the acceleration.]

[bamfing]

[And here comes the first incident of going STRAIGHT DOWN. Kurt throws his hands in the air. If they're going to die, he's going to look so awesome when it happens!]

[Ororo inhales sharply!! And is kind of frustrated at herself because Goddess, does she not drop at dizzying speeds from extremely high altitudes every other day??]

[Of course, she doesn't do so on a flimsy wooden crate on a flimsy wooden track, but. Yes. Tightening her hold on the safety bar in front of her like a lifeline now, yes.]

[bamfing]

[Meanwhile this is all lost on Kurt as he lets out a "Whooo!!" as they hit a sharp downward curve. It's enough to make him to bump into her, but he rights himself soon enough.]

[And Ororo is sitting far too tensely to be jostled around very much. She also hadn't been trusting her voice up until then, but the sudden drop makes her yelp -

(yelp, how even, Ororo has never yelped before)

- out loud!]

[bamfing]

[He heard that! Kurt has righted himself back up just as they come for the big final, drop of all drops. Having ridden this one before, he's putting on his goofiest face for the camera that's going to flash on the way down.]

[And Ororo, of course, has no clue, and as such, is busy pressing a hand over her face - eyes so she doesn't have to look, and mouth so she keeps from shrieking bloody murder while they drop downdowndowndown...]

[It works for the most part. Only a fraction of her yell escapes.]

[bamfing]

[When they finally get to the end, Kurt looks totally relaxed and his hair is everywhere.]

See? That wasn't so bad.

[Deep breaths, 'Roro.]

[... she doesn't trust herself to say anything out loud yet, no. Instead, she sighs and finally leans back. The one good thing about this is that Ororo's hair is perfect as always, if only because crazily windswept is a good look for her.]

[bamfing]

[At this point, the harnesses start disengaging. Given Ororo is on the side they exit on, he nudges her slightly.]

Ready?

[It's enough for her to come to her senses, at least.]

I - ah, yes. Of course. I'll just - [-slide out of the car, yes. It's rare for Ororo to be without words, so that's one accomplishment down, Kurt!]

[Once she has both feet on the ground, she'll let out a long exhale. Solid ground!]

[bamfing]

[If Ororo wasn't his teacher, he'd be teasing her so hard right now. But since she does have his respect, he eases up and goes for concerned. Once they're on the platform, he speaks up.]

That wasn't so bad, yeah?

[It was terrible-]

[She manages some sort of a smile.]

It was... something. [A bit of a laugh.] I think I'll leave the more adventurous rides to you, Kurt.

[bamfing]

[Kurt is... not surprised. But he had kind of hoped he would change her mind. He wasn't really doing it to shake her up. Just expose her to something fun.]

Really? That's too bad. That one didn't even have a loop!
