Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

[So...considering that Helios was kidnapped just a very short while ago, and that Buffy is still missing, Giles isn't particularly in the mood to enjoy himself today. He's in the mood to wander the village like a hamster on a wheel until one of his growing list of missing loved ones turns up.

Theme parks in particular are not his beat. He Does Not Do theme parks. Especially not roller coasters. Oh god especially not roller coasters.

Unfortunately, a few of his friends - two ladies in particular - had some other ideas to hopefully cheer him up and take his mind off of bad things. Seriously, you can probably thank Ginia and Grune for getting him this far, although Giles will manage to find excuses or reasons to wander on his own reasonably often. Especially if there are other friends to catch up with.

He makes a point of avoiding any ride that looks too fast - especially the roller coasters and the flume rides - but to his honest surprise, there are things that catch his eye. The street shows, the performances, the haunted house, the hall of mirrors, the Hall of Personas, the food court with all its many, many different sorts of tea...

...okay. Maybe this isn't so bad.

He will probably, admittedly, wind up in Angel's Brooding Corner at some point during the week. Probably because a rigged game cheated him out of a plushie for someone one too many times. He'll be mostly good afterwards.

Every night, once the sun has set, Giles will make the walk back to the village until both Buffy and Helios have been safely found. No hotel for him, unless someone proves impossibly persuasive.]

[Theme parks, however, are definitely Grune's beat. The Legacy was notably short on them (unless you count potentially messing around in Werites Beacon's fountains), and so as far as her memory is concerned, this is a brand new experience for her. There are so many colours and delicious smells, so much movement, so many fun things to do, that she hardly knows what to look at or where to go first. She's certainly going to do her best to try everything at least once, although whether her memory allows her to keep track of what she has and hasn't done is up in the air.

The best part of all? Is getting to spend an entire day with one of her closest Luceti friends and someone else who seems well on her way to earning that designation. With her hand in Giles' as she and Ginia wander about the grounds with him, Grune is very much the picture of delight.]

[She's loved the amusement park forever. As long as she can recall. Even Mama had known to find her there, because where else would Ami go when she needed to feel better and clear her head?

Just like this. It can't help making her homesick, and most of the time, Ami can be found near the carousel, a favorite ride. She rides it, or listens to the tinny music over and over until she needs a break; at those points, she can be found exploring the other rides or even near the games.]

[Sakura always liked amusement parks. Sakura was Sakura, however, and in grade-school. Grade-schoolers liked amusement parks and stuff like that. She would've been ecstatic to be able to live at one for a few weeks.]

[And while Touya has other obligations at the village, he needs a break. He's pretty sure his heart is going to give out from all the worrying he did over Yuki and Yue's disappearance. And now they were back and... he really didn't know what to do. Pretty standard stuff for being trapped in Luceti, though.]

[He's wandering around at the moment, taking in the sights, wondering if he has the heart to go on any rides right now. He couldn't drag Yue to this, he might think Touya was hovering over him. ...that hadn't stopped him from leaving a note, of course, but he wouldn't push. It would have been really fun with Yuki, but thanks to the Malnosso he was enjoying this Malnosso-sponsored carnival by himself.]

[Nill stares up in awe at the massive amusement park in front of her.]

[To be fair, she's never seen an amusement park before, so this is a massive amount of New Things for her. It all looks both exciting and scary at the same time--and there's food and robots dressed up and they could stay at a hotel nearby? Amazing! And definitely better than an experiment. Thank goodness it wasn't ready, that meant they could all have fun!]

[Nill immediately gets a large, fluffy stick of cotton-candy, which she keeps poking with her tongue and watching it melt as though it were the most fascinating thing in the world. What was it...?]

[She carries the strange sweet-thing around, watching people ride the rides and play the games--blanching at the roller coasters... So much to take in. She hopes Haine will let them stay at least the week, there's too much to do in just two or three days!]

[After a day or two to figure out what in the world this place is for, Mia has decided pretty firmly that she enjoys the water park.

But that won't stop her from also marveling at the cotton candy magic.]

[Vash can't help but to check Luceti Land out, he's never been to an amusement park before.

At first he's very wary, even runs at first at the sight of the droids, but will man up once he sees they're not after anyone.

He'll start to loosen up after the first couple days, but he's still not going any rides just yet. (Not to say he can't get dragged on any.) But he sure is WATCHING them. He's... really not sure what to think of them. Especially the water rides. LOOK at those massive things of terror!

By mid week he'll finally figure out what he DOES like about this place. The food. Don't mind Vash walking around with cotton candy, funnel cake, and a corn dog or two always in his mouth.]

[This is not exactly what one might expect Mizuno Ami to say. She's been around Usagi too much lately. Or still not enough.

Besides, it's an amusement park, always her favorite place. But, realizing Vash may be nervous, she makes a friendly offer:]

After telling his housemates about the park, and personally grabbing Silver by the collar and dragging him to the park himself, Gold will be sighted making full use of all the park's attractions, especially the roller coasters and the food court, making a pig of himself.]

[ Lightning totally missed the warning notice, which means she's in for a pretty big surprise when she sneaks off alone for a morning beach visit... and discovers a whole lot more than she'd expected right off the coast-- especially since she's not really in what she'd consider dressed for public: her two-piece swimsuit that shows a whole lot of skin, even with the short shirt to cover the scar-like Brand on her chest on over it.

But... well, whatever. She just keeps off to herself, and though she's definitely not social enough to go wandering through on her own, she eventually decides it's pleasant enough to sit a ways off from the bridge and watch people filter in and out from a distance; over the next few days, hanging around outside becomes a minor habit, both with and without her black-furred, nearly-grown dog in tow.

All while continuing to keep a close eye on the journal network, of course. She's a suspicious woman. ]

Gosh, she really hopes the amusement park isn't an experiment on the inside. Because she is going inside. And it doesn't take long for her to convince herself that it'll be perfectly fine because look how much fun everyone inside is having. Listen!

[Frederic couldn't believe his eyes when he arrives at this place, it was so large and something he was not use to before. It felt rather exciting and yet some part of him wished he could spent this time with others, namely Helios, Giles, and Poland. Perhaps as he was traveling around the park, he'd find some people who would help him have some fun.]

[Well, this is a pleasant surprise. Upon learning that there was going to be no experiment but the return of that amusement park, Rydia's tension lifts. She scrambles to find her journal and informs her housemates/friends as soon as she can. They don't get many breaks from experiment time, after all, so this has to be savored.

Of course, all the roller coasters have to be revisited, as well as the bumper cars and zoo. She's even more eager for the water park, and spends most of her day there, on the slides or in the wave pools or along the river. The water feels just right, and she'll encourage whoever she can to join in the fun.

Once evening has hit, Rydia won't leave the island. She's going to take advantage of the amenities offered by the hotel, as well as view the fireworks. All in all, she's having a blast.]

An amusement park! And she's not being forced to dress up in stupid costumes and play Alice in Wonderland for the amusement of a guy in a pig suit! She's not trying to save the world or rescue her friends that have been scattered all over creation!

Lina will be at every ride and every food stall and every game, probably multiple times throughout the day. Find her in the food court, chowing down on whatever she can get her hands on. Find her in line for everything from the roller coaster to the Haunted House. Find her at the game booths, occasionally winning by pure skill and occasionally managing to cheat her way to success and occasionally actually losing. Find her on the roof of a booth, happily tossing some new plushie acquisition up and down. Maybe it's a plushie of you.]

[If Grune could imagine paradise, she'd probably think of an amusement park with a garden attached, full of all her friends.

She's never been to a theme park before (that she can remember...), and so she's taking every opportunity she can to enjoy this one. She'll be dragging as many of her friends over as often as she can yes, you too, Dhaos, to take in every single ride, food vendor, and waterslide possible.

The only thing better than going on fun rides is doing it with friends, so please come have fun with her!]

Any Evening

[Jack Sparrow's life has settled into a very strict pattern since Buffy Summers and Leonard McCoy were kidnapped. During the day he sleeps for a few hours before setting out on a patient wander around Luceti village and its surrounding forest and countryside, searching for any sign of the friends he has lost to Malnosso droids. The last thing he feels like doing is enjoying an Amusement Park.

At night, though, he finds himself staring at the fair from the porch of Cullen House. And soon enough the pirate, drawn to the lights and music and crowd, is making his way through the fair with a bottle of rum in hand like a lost soul in a strange land.]

[An amusement park. Run by the Malnosso. Even if it's better than some experiment they had planned, it's still a little suspicious. Leo will be about, checking out the attractions, though the rides don't interest him all that much. Trying to enjoy himself, though he'll be alert just in case this is some sort of elaborate trap. It feels strange to be here. His only experience with one prior to this is with Coney Island, and that was only when the park was closed. The droids all over certainly aren't helping his unease.

Later on into the evenings, he can be found on the roof of the twenty story hotel. The perfect place to see the entire park at once.]

[Seto's been practically dreaming of a day such as this. The day he gets to see a real theme park! Seeing that message when he opened his journal made him so happy.

After receiving it, he quickly made his way out to where the park is. Looking around at all the attractions he stares at them amazed. If only Crow had gotten to see this...PF and Ren too. But at least he might find his friends here! That's right, he won't be alone.

[Well, Seto is looking better than he was the last time they spoke. Giles views this as a very positive sign as he steps up next to the boy, looking up at the smaller roller coaster.

[Dhaos is, predictably, dragged to the park by Grune the moment she hears of it. And Dhaos is, even more predictably, not very interested in any of the attractions there.

It is a change of scenery, however, and not one associated with fighting a war he did not volunteer for, and so whenever he has no one to drag him along, Dhaos will be found wandering the park, perhaps sitting on a bench somewhere watching people go by, or in the Food Court. As if he'll actually eat anything.]

[Grune, of course, is having a ball. She's sure Dhaos is enjoying himself, too. And she's going to make sure he's enjoying himself even more by bringing him one of her new discoveries: cotton candy! Because Dhaos loves sweet things, right?]

Just the first day

[An amusement park. What foolishness was this? He arrived to inspect it, but he won't ride the rides. Oh, sure, he checks out some of the attractions. He gets frustratingly lost in a hall of mirrors before using magic to appear back outside of it again. He glares accusingly at the various games with plush prizes. On a whim he tries some cotton candy, which ends in frustration as he has to clean his sticky fingers. He'll have nothing to do with the water slides.

After about an hour or two of looking the place over, he'll leave. What a waste of time.]

[Is there an appeal to those plushie creatures she sees dangling from the many stalls? If there is, she doesn't understand it at all. All these humans winning toys and then acting excited over their prizes... Pfft, such simple, childish behaviour. Any idiot can knock over bottles with a ball. It's nothing to get excited about.

Walking around, trying to find something the slightest bit appealing in this cesspit of fun and laughter, she spots Ganondorf staring at those plushies. She keeps walking by, twirling her parasol, but she makes a quick comment as she passes.]

[When Jack isn't relaxing at the pools (and spying on the hot (not teenaged) babes through his sunglasses, he'll be exploring the park. With any luck, he'll have a date, but if he doesn't... well, he'll go find some pretty women to spend time with. He's not too big on the thrill rides, but he'll go around winning useless trinkets, eat some of the food, and most of all?

He's going to live at the hotel. Once he finds the pool and spa there, he's going to find that so much more his style than an amusement park. Not to mention the minibar. Sure, the droid bartender isn't much for conversation, but the atmosphere sure is nice.]

[ Later on the third day Saten sits down at the minibar, still dripping wet from the pool. She's wearing a dark one-piece swimsuit (because apparently the droids do not approve of swimming naked and if she has to spend one more minute in the Angel's Brooding Zone she's going to kill someone) which shows off an impressive, still relatively fresh-looking scar running from the left of to below her left wing. ]

[There's an amusement park. That's. Well. Interesting. She'll certainly look around. The water park seems like the most fun to her and she blanches at the idea of trying the roller coasters. She won't partake of the rides unless someone can make a compelling argument for her to do so. She also wouldn't be opposed to having some prizes won for her. (What's the point of winning them for herself?)

However, she's going to change her living arrangements to the hotel for as long as she can. Who cares if droids are the ones pampering it? It's wonderful, it's relaxing, and it's just what she deserves. She hasn't been treated this good since she was in Tinto.]

Zack hasn't really spoken to Lilly outside of the bar since the AU event, so when he spots her, he'll head right over with a wave.]

[Okay you know what? This is what Kurt has been wanting forever. He'll be riding EVERYTHING, exploring EVERYWHERE, and eating EVERY SNACK. He'll do it twice!

However this first day will be dedicated to his sister. He'll be doing his best to help her enjoy it, whether she wants him to or not. After all, a theme park showed up on her birthday. She better enjoy it.]

[Such pitiful things humans do to amuse themselves. Ch'rell wanders in mostly out of curiosity, and is determined to leave after he has inspected everything. He is all over the park, inspecting all the rides and games, but not taking part in any of them. Later that night he retreats to the Hotel and spends about an hour there before going home.]

[A theme park? Sokka heard about something like this. He won't trust these rides until he sees enough people not get killed on them, at which point he'll be all over them. It's exciting and awesome. When he's not doing that, he'll be owning the throwing-based games, scoring a ton of plushies with his mad skills. Beyond that, he'll be pigging out at the snack areas forever. He loves mysterious meats!]

[That is an impressive stack of stuffed toys you have there, Sokka. Miyabi only tried a few of the games so far, so all she's toting around is an array of tiny, miscellaneous toys and one big one. Thank the gods this place didn't take money, or she'd be poor as dirt with how much she played to get it.
