Summary: An amusement park has popped up in Luceti. It's all over here.
Rating: F is for friends who do stuff together!

Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

[Grune breaks off from her happy contemplation of yet another fun ride to try to give Giles a curious look.]

Oh, why not? It looks like so much fun!

Y-Yes, I...I suppose it does.

But it also looks very, um, fast. And, and unsafe.

Don't worry. I'm sure it's just fine.

[She gives his hand a gentle tug.]

[Nothin' doin', Grune. Sorry. Giles just...continues to look deeply nervous before mumbling something under his breath.]

[Grune gives him a puzzled look and leans in closer. What had he just said?]

Giles?

[consultmybooks]

[mumblemumble] s-scared of heights [mumble.]

[lostinmyway]

[Oh. Hmm, that's too bad.

Without the slightest evidence of amusement or pity, she smiles at him.]

It's all right. The ride can't hurt you.

[consultmybooks]

[You are an angel, Grune. Even some of the other passengers on a plane would pity him for that.]

N-NO offense intended, Grune, but...a-are you sure about that?

Oh, yes. [She pauses.] Does that sound right?

[consultmybooks]

[He laughs weakly.]

...yes, that sounds about right.

[She nods to herself--that's settled, then--and smiles again.]

So why don't we go on the ride together?

[consultmybooks]

Only if we can sit down somewhere later.

[At least, after this, he'll have concrete proof as to why he doesn't like the look of roller coasters.]

All right!

[She's not quite sure why Giles would like to do that, but that's just fine.

She gives his hand another little tug.]

[And this time, Giles lets himself be tugged into line.

It's a fairly long line, although not as long as it has been throughout the day. It's getting on to lunch time, after all.]

I suppose this will be a first time for both of us.

[By now, Grune has entirely lost track.]

On a roller coaster? Oh, yes. That's what these are called, by the way - roller coasters. You sit in a car and get pushed all over the tracks at ridiculous speeds. S-Sometimes even upside down.

[Said still with some trepidation.]

Upside down? Oh, my, that sounds so exciting!

"Exciting" is one word for it.

I wonder what we should do after the roller coaster.

Why don't we go and see one of the performances? The droids seem to be putting on quite a few all over the place.

Oh, that sounds like a very good idea! They're all so interesting, aren't they?

Yes, they certainly are. And the chance to see the droids actually working for our amusement rather than snatching us off the streets shouldn't be passed up.

Droids?

[Grune has seen a grand total of one kidnapping over the journals, and the video wasn't very good then, so she doesn't realise the droids are anything other than typical amusement park workers.]

Droids, yes. The very large robots in the silly costumes and the bright vests. Robots, technically, but everyone just calls them droids.

...I admit, I'm still not entirely clear on the difference.
