Summary: An amusement park has popped up in Luceti. It's all over here.
Rating: F is for friends who do stuff together!

Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

Maybe they just need stronger pencils.

Well, pens are generally considered stronger versions of pencils.

...I suppose they are less likely to splinter, at least.

[Giles is the kind of guy who keeps a writing implement or five on him at all times. And, indeed, he pulls a pen out of his pockets and twirls it idly between his fingers.]

Why don't we give this to one of the droids and see what it does?

That's a good idea. I can't wait to see what they'll write for us.

[Oh, my, they're getting very close to the beginning of the line!]

Hopefully something remotely friendly, at least. They're at least behaving themselves today.

Oh, I'm sure they'll be very friendly. They're so helpful, aren't they?

[Yes, she's being sincere.]

[Giles sincerely cannot recall an instance where you weren't being sincere, Grune. It's part of what he likes about you.]

Today? Yes. They're being very helpful.

[And, with that, the last villager ahead of them gets into a car, leaving two seats remaining for Giles and Grune.

He gulps, squeezing her hand reflexively.]

[Grune squeezes his hand back, giving him a big smile.]

This is going to be so much fun!

I hope so. [He takes a seat next to her, fits the harness over his shoulders. Then there's nothing for it but to hold on tight and close his eyes.]

[Grune copies him, at least as far as getting the harness on goes. Instead of holding on tight, however, she lets her hands rest gently on the bar in front of her, and she looks about with interest. Then:]

Oh, we're moving.

[Yes, Grune, you're moving.

Moving slowly upwards, as a matter of fact.]

[Helpfully, she notes:] Oh, my, we're going so high. What a nice view.

[You could not pay Giles enough to actually open his eyes to take in said view right now.

Higher still...]

[lostinmyway]

[In looking about at the view, Grune notices that Giles is somewhat less interested in seeing how high they are.

She sets a hand over one of his.] Giles?

[consultmybooks]

[The car slowly comes to a stop at the top of the rise. Giles just...doesn't move.

Slowly, at first, the car starts to descend. It picks up speed at an astonishing rate, and soon they're zooming downwards, taking sharp swerves left and right before climbing up another rise.]

[Despite the way the cart hurtles along the track, Grune only looks about mildly, occasionally murmuring, "Oh, my" when they go around a corner sharply.

What a nice ride.]

[Don't be sick. Don't be sick. Don't be sick.

Such is the order of things for the next one hundred and twenty seconds before the car begins to slow one final time, pulling slowly into the station where they'd first left.

The harnesses give a "click", indicating that they can be safely removed. It's several long...very long...seconds before Giles shakily moves to do so.]

[Because she's following Giles' lead, it's only at this point that Grune lifts her own harness.]

That was a very nice ride. We should go on it again.

[consultmybooks]

N-No.

[Dizzy. Oh so very dizzy. Giles is definitely wobbling when he stands up.]

S-Sorry, um...but no. N-Not for me, at least.

[lostinmyway]

[A little concerned, Grune moves over to circle an arm around Giles' waist for support.]

Oh, my, aren't you feeling well?

[consultmybooks]

N-No, I...I, um, I really don't think I am.

...can we sit down now?

[lostinmyway]

Oh, yes, of course. [She starts looking around for a bench.

Is Giles getting the flu?]

[consultmybooks]

Thank you, Grune. [It feels a bit like he's getting the flu, yes. Giles spots a bench first and tugs Grune towards it - it's not far from the ride's exit, probably having been placed there specifically for people like Giles.]

[lostinmyway]

Oh, you're welcome.

[She follows along, still keeping her arm around him. She hopes he isn't getting sick--then he would need to go home and rest and miss going on more rides.]

[consultmybooks]

[He's grateful for that. And, to be honest, Giles isn't feeling as bad as he expected to. It's chiefly dizziness from having his world spun out from under him five times too many.

Even so, once he's sat down, the first words out of his mouth are:]

Y-You, um, you'll probably have to go on roller coasters without me, Grune.

[He can muster an apologetic smile, at least.]

[Now sitting next to him, she gives him a concerned look.]
