Summary: An amusement park has popped up in Luceti. It's all over here.
Rating: F is for friends who do stuff together!

Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

"Hm? The same thing as anyone else, I imagine." Not that anyone else at the park would be sitting on a bench reading a book about Earth's Ancient Architecture. The page is open to pictures of some Roman structures.

Granted, Raine knows that the water park is not a place most people would have expected to see her in. It certainly hadn't been her intent to stay, but sometimes things are unavoidable. "... You seem surprised."

"Well....water," he offers quietly. "Some of those slides look rather like your ancient aqueducts. Would you...have you given them a go?"

He isn't expecting her to say yes.

"I've examined them, but I haven't ridden on them, if that's what you mean."

She's not that desperate. But there's a look there in her eyes that he might find familiar. "There have been other fascinating -- and much drier -- structures to explore! Hidden temples with puzzles and mazes to explore."

Oh, no. That look. He remembers it from the jungle draft. "Hidden temples? Now that does sound like a lark, mistress."

[wise_maiden]

"Oh, they were fascinating! Each came with a map, and there were clues hidden all over the park to find the next piece... it was quite a method of integrating knowledge from various worlds!"

Really, she could go on.

Jack would be glad to let her; it's been awhile since he's seen Raine this excited. "And what treasures were hidden for you to find?"

[wise_maiden]

"Unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on the real things, so they gave me these little trinkets instead." She reaches her hand in her pocket to pull out some keychains. "The urn was in the temple to the north, the gold statue to the west, and the crown to the east."

[all7seas]

"Oooh! Lovely! Prizes. You've done very well for yourself, all things considered. I myself got a brass ring, but I---I gave that away. From the carousel, you know."

[wise_maiden]

"I suppose they thought I deserved something for that hard work. Granted I don't really think I have much of a use for these." Raine slips them back into her pocket, regardless, though tilts her head at him. "You've been to the carousel? It spins a bit too much for my taste. Then again, so do a lot of the 'rides' here."

[all7seas]

"Oh, I like the going fast and whirling and such. It's rather like being drunk, actually. Ami brought me. Aaaaand I might have ridden the tunnel of love and justice but they plunked me straight in the Brooding corner after that."

[wise_maiden]

"... Sounds like you've been having a busy time." Raine can't help but raise an eyebrow at that last part, though. The brooding corner, really? Let alone what he had been doing on a ride like that without Buffy present.

But it wasn't her place to say, after all.

At the time he'd thought Buffy was with him in the Tunnel---just one boat ahead.

"Sometimes a man has to fill time while he's waiting."

Not kill time. Never killing time.

[wise_maiden]

"Sometimes there's a lot of time to fill."

And not enough to fill it with. "There are a lot of attractions here." Or distractions. "Much more than the first time around, it seems like."

"That first time---why did the Malnosso do this?"

Because as an untrustworthy sort in general, Jack did not trust any apparently good things from his captors.

[wise_maiden]

"The first time wasn't really connected to the Malnosso themselves. John was taking a vacation, and he brought us with him, so to speak. It's likely that Bil thought to latch onto the idea because of it."

And make the park seem even more extravagant, with his additions. She shakes her head a little.

[all7seas]

"That's.....odd. Bil, though---Bil likes to distract. Sleight-of-hand. He's altogether too fond of that."

[wise_maiden]

"Bil did mention that we were due for a shift, but we got this instead. Still... I wouldn't be surprised if something else ended up happening. Especially with the current power struggles within the Organization."

[all7seas]

"Power struggles, aye. Seems that Commandant didn't think much of him. And she'd slit your throat as soon as look at you, that one."

[wise_maiden]

"It can make one wonder just how long these rivalries were nurtured. We're only just seeing it now because of the rippling effects of previous situations."

Raine sighs. Everything was so political, and there was nothing they could really do about it from this end save observe. "i've no doubt we'll be hearing from her before long, if she deems us a resource to be used."

[all7seas]

"No doubt we will, darling." Jack cranes his neck slightly to watch as a group of fairgoers comes sliding down a nearby water slide.

"That looks....rather fun, actually."

[wise_maiden]

"Fun?" Her eyes snap to look in the same direction, though she shakes her head with a faint smile. "...Ah. I see. Well, I won't be the one to get in the way of your having fun."

[all7seas]

"Sweet Raine." And this time, Jack does take her hand and kisses it. "You're not getting in the way of my fun." The pirate rises and turns to go. He has been sitting too long. He should be searching.
