Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

[Her eyes flit to that pocket.]

You can't take it! It has to be ready for the next person.

Valuable...? [She's not so sure it is. Isn't it just a cheap brass ring from the fair?]

[Yes it is, but Jack doesn't care about that.]

Valuable. A keepsake of our wonderful time together, Ami. I shall always look upon it and remember. In fact---I think you should wear it as a token of this carousel ride.

A keepsake? [Ok, she does not really want to think about the implications of a guy giving a girl a ring, or she'll blush herself to death right here.] Is it really alright?

It's more than alright! It's expected. [No it's not, but Jack doesn't know that. And he reasons that Ami doesn't know that. He presents her with the ring.]

Expected? [and when has Ami ever been able to go against that? She nods, and reaches out to take the ring.]

[He gives it to her, then steps back with a solemn look on his face.] And now? Now we are married, Ami.

[DLKJLKSJLDS!!]

We're not! We didn't even say vows! No one is here to marry us! Our friends and family aren't here! We can't be!

We have witnesses. [he gestures toward the carousel horses and one highly-bored looking droid.] And you have accepted my ring.

But- You didn't even ask me! I haven't said yes! Neither have you!

Details! [Trolling Ami is its own special brand of fun, apparently.]

[Her head would be on straighter if this were about any other subject. Really.]

We can't just... You can't just decide on your own! And isn't there someone you like?

[Jack's face falls; this trolling has suddenly gotten a lot less fun.]

Aye. There might be a person I've got a bit of a warm spot in my black heart for, now you mention it.

[She didn't mean to ruin his good mood. But she's taking this more seriously than he is anyway, and she can't try to shove herself into someone else's place.]

Do you want it back?

Hmmm? No, no---I were just teasing you, Ami. No need to give anything back, is there? You hang onto that.

Ah- I see. As just a memento of the amusement park. Right?

[...Right?]

Right. A memento is all. And also? You've learned a valuable lesson about cheating: it works when the deck's stacked against you, eh? Bloody carnivals.

I don't think cheating is really right...

[That's irritating, Jack, seeing her as just some goody two-shoes.]

Of course. Don't we all? Just some of our rights are wrong, is all.

I guess that's true. Even Queen Beryl was doing what she thought was the best thing, sometimes.
