Summary: An amusement park has popped up in Luceti. It's all over here.
Rating: F is for friends who do stuff together!

Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

[Ami. The pirate turns and yes, sure enough, it's her. He raises his hat to the girl as she draws nearer and offers a sort-of smile.]

[Not especially, but being hungry means spending a bit more time with Jack if he's set on eating. So Ami nods. She doesn't mind eating a bit.]

Mm. I'd like to try some of the food here anyway.

[The hungry pirate nods. He will offer her his arm so that they might search out a food vendor together. But his eyes are still wandering, searching the crowd---looking for an irascible doctor or a tiny slayer. Distracted.]

I wonder how long this island place will last.

[A slight shake of her head (who knows?) but she makes her best guess.]

Normally, these sorts of strange things last a few days, or maybe a week or two.

Will it all simply sink back into the sea, though?

[Hmmm, what's that smell....so tempting to a hungry man who has been on the move all day. Not too far away, a stand selling fried dough begins to look very appealing.]

[She answers seriously, but then smiles.]

So that means we should enjoy ourselves while we have the chance. We don't know how long we have here.

A woman after my own heart, you are. [Hmmm. Fried dough. Yes please. Jack orders two and turns to hand one to Ami.] It beats cooking for myself. Now, mistress Ami: you are to show me around this carnival and entertain me. [his tone is gentle and joking; it's not so much a command as a request, really.]

The rides will be a lot more fun together, won't they? [She takes the fried dough, but waits a moment for it to cool before starting to tear small pieces off to eat.]

Rides? [They DO look fun. In fact, if Jack were not in such a horrid mood he'd be having a great time right now. Ironic that the amusement park would appear during such a rough patch.

Or, perhaps, serendipitous; Archie had been telling him that distractions would help ease the pain a bit.]

Right. Erm. Which one first? And he'll take her answer with a sizeable chunk of cinnamon-sugar-sprinkled dough in his mouth. Hungry. So hungry.]

How about the carousel? As soon as we finish our fried dough.

[Then maybe some of the faster rides. She likes them, too. A nice roller coaster?]

Ami, darling? Your wish is mine. [That would probably sound more gallant if he wasn't talking through a mouth filled with dough.]

[How courteous! .... are those crumbs spitting out of his mouth or is she imagining that because he's talking with his mouth full?]

Let's sit down somewhere for now. To finish our snack.

[Yes. They are. He swallows that large bite and wolfs down the rest, satisfied at least for the moment.]

Wait, wait---let me get a caramel apple first.

[After all, the stand was right there. And Jack loves apples.]

[Seriously, Jack? But she doesn't mind, really. Ami glances towards the apple stand and doesn't particularly want one herself, so she simply nods.]

Mm. Go ahead. I'll wait over there. [She nods towards a convenient bench.]

[It doesn't take him long at all. Jack soon joins her at the bench, apple in hand.]

Apples on sticks: might be my new favorite tasty thing.

You should be careful not too eat too many sweets. It can be bad for the teeth.

And I need a bit of looking after, don't I. [That was mumbled as Jack bit off another chunk of apple.] You think your carousel will cheer me up, love?

My Annie's been taken. And my McCoy. What's there to talk about? [Another few bites and he's made short work of that apple, too; but at least now the pirate isn't quite so ravenous.]
