What: Amusement Parking!

Where: A veritable pleasure island, east of the Beach Fort.
Summary: An amusement park has popped up in Luceti. It's all over here.
Rating: F is for friends who do stuff together!

Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

[ She's savvy to your scheming ways, galfriend!! ]

I might get lonely if I go in all by myself.

...Or it might be a long, loooong time before you see me again. [ Ahaha she could be amused until the end of eternity in there. ] But yes, I really would like you to come with.

[ Your response? Lightning gives a sigh and frowns, brushing sand off one of her knees with her gaze firmly fixed upon it. In other words, there isn't much of a response at all- just Lightning being a woman who constantly tells herself she's really not Into That Kind of Thing. ]

There are amusement parks in Cocoon, right? It seems like the kind of place that would have one.

Yeah. Entire... amusement park cities, to be honest.

[ Even as a native, working in an admittedly very touristy town, she always thought that was kind of frivolous... ]

Oh, wow...

...You know...I'm sure Hope will want to come in here to see all the rides. And Zack? [There is just the lightest shoulder bump here SHE IS SO SUBTLE TEEHEE] There's no way Zack won't come. Who knows, I wouldn't be surprised if he was here already.

Huh? [ And so eloquent is she! The master of... uh, suspiciously surprised answers. Her brows come together as she looks away. ] What's that supposed to mean?

This [holding up a finger insistently] is what it means!

[ ...and that finger drops to draw in the sand.

Say hello to stick-boy. You know it's Zack by the spiky hair.

Say hello to stick-girl. You know it's Light because wavy awesome hair of awesome, thank you.

There are suspiciously connected stick arms. Smiles. Roller coaster and balloons.

And then the letters "DA~TE!" floating above them.

Aerith looks at Light with a grin. That is what it means. ]

I mean I know you two like the Battle Dome, buuut change is really good too! Mix it up a bit.

[ Lightning watches Aerith start drawing with a confused, vaguely annoyed expression, and then-- oh. FFFF, WHAAAAT. Her mouth drops open as the other woman starts spelling out the word, confirming the WORST OF HER EXPECTATIONS, then finishes it off with a comment that somehow makes it even worse. ]

We're not-- we're not dating!

[ GFDUFDAGFA SHE NOTICED THE BATTLE DOME THINGS. SHE NOTICED. Horrified, she puts her hand over the drawing... but the bright flush spreading across her face probably really isn't helping her case. It's... it's spontaneous sunburn? Totally. ]

Ah, you'll rub it out that way... [:( HARD WORK LOST]

Okay, "not dating". I'm saying you could "not date" in the amusement park.

[In other words NOT BUYIN' WHAT YOU'RE SELLING GURLFRIIIIEND]

Aerith...

[ Yep, the flowergirl's managed what many would say to be impossible: absolutely flustering Lightning-- without even trying very hard! The woman frowns so, so much and stares down, attempting her best to regain her bearings. Her voice dips, more subdued. ]

It's not like that.

You'll have to tell me what it's like then. Because all I know is I get back home from a little trip and my friends seem much, much more comfortable with each other than before.

[ Geez... Lightning gives a little scoffing sigh, but... starts looking more and more disconcerted, too. Frustrated and with her mouth pulling into a line, she rubs her hand a bit through the drawing. ]

... I don't know.

[ Show some pity, Aerith- does Lightning seem like the kind of girl who has any idea what to do with the fact that she miiiight have started falling for that crazy guy? Or at least beginning to acknowledge it, after like... half a year. After the indignation of that Valentine's experiment, even! ]

Zack does like you, you know. And you seem happier with him. It's...nice. [There are so many other words that could describe it, but that one is the most important and it's true. Even if it's also a little weird to be setting up the guy she didn't have a proper break-up with, you know...? She wanted to do it. She likes seeing them happy.

Huff.] He's usually not such a slowpoke, though...!

[ Well. Of course he does- he's a guy and... and wow, that sounds really weird even in pink-girl here's head. He's flirty but it's not like he's... tried anything, beyond stuff like insisting they're connected and hanging out all the time. If he does like her... he wouldn't be that patient if all he wanted was to get in her skirt, right?

THEN AGAIN HE'S REALLY FLIRTY AND NOT JUST WITH HER, SO...!

She stares hard at the sand between her feet. Who knew Lightning even knew how to have a boy crisis? ]

... He tell you that?

[ No, she doesn't even know where to start on that other stuff like seeming happier or the weird 'slowpoke' comment. And the fact that Aerith is his ex? No that's totally not awkward at all... ]

I asked him. [Her shenanigans run deep.] I just had a feeling about it. Since... for a while.

...It's not a problem if he likes you, right? You're staring awfully hard at that sand.

[ And then comes the realization that he's been ninja-dating her. That--

... Followed by a complete lack of anger, and the realization that... she already kind of knew that, and decided just to see what would happen anyway.

She sighs through her nose. It would be one thing if they were in some... some normal situation, but this is Luceti, where technically she's already kissed him because of some stupid experiment, switched bodies with him... and surely nobody would deny that this isn't a place good for things you'd really like to last longer than tomorrow, but will be broken if you happen to get sent home.

Something she's always told herself is that she has no intention of staying around anyway if she could help it- that she needs to go home and finish what was started, whether she likes it or not. Most of the stuff she commits to here has that in mind: training, learning, taking care of Hope...

Except there are some things, like her friendship with Aerith, and the fact that she kept Baldr instead of handing him off to some kid. So... what? ]

It's... not like I can stop him.

[ Lightning, that is not what the girl asked. Her shoulders drop, annoyed at how much trouble this is giving her. ]

You can let him know you're not interested. If you're not. But I don't think that's it...

[ For once she actually sounds more serious and on Light's level as she looks up at the sky. ]

I know there are a few weird things about this situation. But, if it would make you happy, isn't that most important?

[ ... Why you gotta keep being right, Aerith? Burning with pent-up energy, Lightning stands up suddenly... but doesn't go anywhere, brushing sand off herself with a slowness that indicates habit rather than putting any thought to it. ]

It could hurt us, too. Both of us.

[ This conversation may have her in way over her head, but it also makes her pretty candid once it's finally out in the open. She's not thinking to try shoving aside the other woman's suspicions any more. ]

For me, it'd hurt more to miss out on a chance. But that's me... [ She stands up herself, brushing the sand away from the hem of her dress with brisk sweeps. ] ...and I know I get carried away too sometimes. [Though she smiles a bit to herself. Like--pffft--she's probably not getting Light in the amusement park with her after that bombshell--but it really shouldn't be a bombshell when both of them like each other. Honestly.]

[ Carried away? Just a little, Aerith. Lightning glances at her briefly, then sighs slowly right through her teeth. ]

But it would be easier if-- [ Sigh. ] I don't know. I need to think about it.

[ Not making any promises here, though. To herself or otherwise. ]

It could always be easier. Just think about if it's worth it.

While you're thinking... [ Aerith runs off in the direction of the amusement park, but not far, before stopping and turning to Light. ] Wanna come with me?

[ ..... Oh. Oh right. The park. Lightning's face blanks a little as she looks from flower-girl to shiny new source of entertainment. Then, she frowns in thought. Yep. ]

... I guess I can walk with you at least. I want to see the hotel.

Hooray! [ fahoieh goodbye seriousness, Aerith's excited again. ] It must be a really big hotel if it's supposed to fit all the people here. The biggest one I stayed in before was the Gold Saucer's haunted mansion... hehe, I bet it has a lot to offer.
