Summary: An amusement park has popped up in Luceti. It's all over here.
Rating: F is for friends who do stuff together!

Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

According to Catherine, this is supposed to replace our experiment for the month. A consideration of all of the troubles we've had to deal with, lately.

[And back Grune comes into the present. She smiles at Giles.] All right. That sounds like a very good idea.

[...Yes, of course. Never get between a girl and her cotton candy.]

/Suspect, but I'll take it. I haven't been to an amusement park in.../ [There's a pause as she thinks back and realizes she can't remember.] /Awhile now./

Neither have I. [If he's ever been to an amusement park. Do traveling carnivals count?] Neither have most of the villagers, I would think. There are probably a few worlds where amusement parks don't exist at all.

I've never seen an amusement park before. [Pause.] Or have I? Hmm....

/It's a nice introduction then. It's always fascinating what does and doesn't exist across worlds./

[Ginia grins at Grune's words.]

/You're definitely going to get to see this one./

For Luceti? For once, it's a very nice introduction to the idea.

[Giles pauses, suddenly, staring around them with evident signs of confusion.]

Hm. That's, um, odd.

[Grune looks up from her cotton candy and starts looking around as well, simply because Giles is doing it.]

Oh, are we lost?

[shadedsunlight]

[Ginia also stops walking to glance over at Giles.]

/Something wrong?/

Well, we're not actually lost. I must have just gotten us turned around somewhere.

[Giles nods towards a long, low building on the other side of the main path.] That's the Hall of Personas - not the haunted house.

Oh, that's all right. We can go there first.

[Ginia nods in agreement.]

/I'm fine with that too. We can always loop back to the haunted house and visit anything else on the way too./

Of course. It doesn't seem as though the park is going anywhere for a while, at least. We have time, so we might as well investigate while we're here. [He smiles back at the both of them.] Shall we, then?

I misread that as "damn you to heel" at first. XD Also, my notifs are doing a molasses impression.

[Beam!] Oh, yes. I can't wait to see what's inside!

The sad part is after I posted that, my notifs began coming in. A few are still delayed though.

/Let's go ahead./

[Ginia takes the lead this time, curious to see what awaits them inside. A token is turned over to the droid staffing the hall with a slight glare of suspicion and wariness. It doesn't matter he's wearing a brightly colored vest; he's still like the other droids that kidnapped her.

Inside, it looks like any other typical house of mirrors with mirrors spreading out in a maze-like manner in front of them. Except when Ginia steps in front of the first mirror, her reflection shows a young girl around 12 years old, long dark brown hair, bright blue eyes, and clutching a book under one arm.

Well then. Ginia balks as she stares back at her pint-sized reflection.]

Mine have been coming in fine.

Ginia? What's the matter?

[Giles is next into the hall. Seeing Ginia go pale, he steps up next to her, staring at her in some concern.

The reflection that appears in the mirror next to the young girl, of course, is something entirely different. A boy pokes his head into the frame, a boy with tousled black hair and wide blue eyes. He looks to be about eight years old, dressed in shorts that end above his knees and a lumpy, clearly handmade sweater. There's grass in his hair and grass stains on his knees, mud caking his hands and arms and even dotting his face. In one hand, he's holding a leash for something that's outside the frame of the mirror.

He looks from Ginia to Giles, frowning with childish suspicion...an expression that, in point of fact, doesn't match Giles' expression or even Giles' line of sight.

Giles, who is too busy trying to figure out what's happened to Ginia, doesn't look back at the mirror for a few seconds.

He goes pale.]

Mine are going back to normal, luckily.

[Grune looks at the reflections, then back at Ginia and Giles in confusion.]

Are these your friends?

[She has yet to step in front of a mirror of her own.]

[shadedsunlight]

[The boy that appears is registered in her mind, but her gaze is so focused on the little girl Ginia doesn't think much of it. She crouches down to be eye level with her reflection and reaches out to touch the glass. It's solid, and cool under her fingertips.

In the reflection, "she" shyly smiles and holds out her book, a thick collection of mythology from around the world. Even as a girl she'd been fascinated with all things magical and mythological. Had a stuffed unicorn on her bed and all.

She's finally out of her shock enough to look up at Giles and Grune, highly confused, a little lost, and somewhat awed.]

/It's me./

[Meanwhile, in the other frame, the boy is still staring up at Giles, frowning thoughtfully. He gives the leash a tug, and a very small, very fluffy dog comes ambling into view before flopping down on the boy's feat. It looks up at Giles, tail wagging hopefully, not a guard dog bone in its body.

The young Rupert frowns in mild annoyance down at his dog before bundling it up into his arms. Then the boy looks over at Ginia in curiosity before indicating the two of them, the adults, almost as though seeking confirmation.

When he sees Ginia signing out of the corner of her eye, Giles shakes himself out of his daze to look back at the other two. His voice is very soft and very hushed.]

It's us.

[lostinmyway]

[Grune doesn't question for a moment what she's seeing in the mirrors, or that the young Ginia and Giles could be anything less than real. Instead, she kneels down in front of them, all the better to give both children a big smile.]

Hello! My name's Grune. I'm very pleased to meet the both of you.

[shadedsunlight]

[The girl in the mirror looks over at the boy and gives a tiny little nod as she smiles shyly and tucks her book back under her arm. She glances at the adults, shuffling her feet a little and blushing before waving back at Grune, as silent as Ginia.

Ginia herself laughs quietly, also blushing herself. God, she'd been such a shy thing well into her teens, most comfortable either curled up with a book on dancing up on stage. She glances over at the young reflection of Giles, then over at her friend, giving a small smile.]

/What was your dog's name?/

[Giles doesn't have to answer - the dog leans forward, squirming slightly in the boy's grip as it tries to sniff at Grune. Its tail starts to wag more quickly. The boy huffs and tries to hold his pet back.] Stop it, Rex! Bad boy! Don't slobber on the lady.

[He smiles politely at Grune before bobbing his head.] M-M-My name's Rupert. It's, i-it's nice to m-meet you, missus.

[lostinmyway]

[Grune smiles and waves at little Ginia before turning that same smile to Rupert.]

Is Rex your pet? He looks very friendly.

[shadedsunlight]

[If Ginia wasn't so confused and a little weirded out by the situation, she might find little Giles to be adorable and sweet. She's always had a soft spot for children.

But this is pretty weird as it is.

Little Ginia smiles shyly and gently writes out the letters of her name in the air, then gives a tiny little curtsy.]

[Rupert nods and smiles proudly as he hefts the dog in his arms.] Yeah! Rex is my dog. Dad doesn't like 'im much - Mum's the one who got him for me. He's pretty thick, but he always likes goin' for walks so I like 'im.

[He nods over at Ginia.

She says her name's Ginia. She'd say it's nice to meet you 'cept she can't talk. That's okay, though, mum says it would be a funny old world if we were all alike.

[Then he frowns back at Giles.] Hey, d'you mind movin' over? it's weird having to talk to her like this.

[Giles, looking...heartily stunned and entirely disbelieving, moves to do as he's bidden, moving to stand next to Ginia. The boy nods his approval before walking into Ginia's frame.]
