What: Amusement Parking!

Where: A veritable pleasure island, east of the Beach Fort.
Summary: An amusement park has popped up in Luceti. It's all over here.
Rating: F is for friends who do stuff together!

Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

Ah- sorry! [She flushes.] I wasn't meaning to stare. It's just, it's really impressive to see.

[Waves a hand.] I don't mind. I've done this for circus audiences before.

[She has a very strange life.] It's nice to know I haven't lost my touch.

It must have been exciting.

Yeah! It was pretty fun. Not as fun as liberating the tigers, but still, definitely a bit of a rush.

You've set tigers free? At the circus? [She has to be understanding that wrong. She was not just told someone set tigers loose right by people.]

Not at. From. They were using the circus as a cover to illegally smuggle them and sell for parts in Chinese medicine.

[Although... it was still almost equally insane and chaotic so... yeah.]

I see. [And she does; she'd agree they should be free. Her worry is just for the people.] Was anyone hurt?

[Spreads hands with a shrug.] Not that much. [Given that she originally wanted to shoot the people who got snapped at... they escaped fairly unharmed.]

The tigers were more concerned with being free than mauling. Besides it's not like I did near a village. [Though since that time the river near there has been plagued with man-hunting tigers. This is probably not her fault though since she is fictional and it was the 70s and India's been burying dead corpses there for 150 years. Still a very weird coincidence.]

And the tigers returned to the wild successfully?

Yup! Still endangered I think, but they stand more of a chance now.

I'm glad. Sometimes animals captured like that have difficulties going back.

[Spreads hands.] It's not like they were dependent on humans or anything. More like those alligators in the James Bond movies.

Just... held captive.

[Sort of like everyone in Luceti. Suddenly the zoo seems less fun. She's glad the tigers were released.]

And made to jump through fire, whipped and beaten, and then shot even before they got old for "potions ingredients." Zoos at least are nice.

That's too cruel! [She finds herself deeply agreeing with this release plan. Of course, she had anyway; she'd only been worried to be sure it was done safely.]

[Nods.] Mah~ But it's all better now.

I'm glad to hear it. And of course, it's far away right now anyway. We couldn't help it.

It's in the past as it is.

[Does some spins on the carousel horse.] Now we're the trapped ones jumping through hoops. Although honestly, if this is the reward at the end, I've probably done worse for less.

It isn't right. But so far, we don't have a solution yet, either.

True enough. It's strange. I think lots of people here have gotten out of stickier situations, but this one has us all stumped, hm?

That's probably the Malnosso's fault. Think of this way: If we began to form a plan right now, you or I might still disappear tomorrow. How can we effectively count on each other's efforts at the crucial moment?

[Pregnant pause.] Yeah... but even for the people who've been here for years... [Rubs the back of her neck.] I guess they hand-tailor every situation and who they don't bring here and all.

I don't believe so. They've begun adapting to the Shift incompatibilities by sending us anyway. It stands to reason that similarly, they aren't applying rigorous guidelines to decide who to bring.

You think so? But they know how to keep people even with crazy superpowers here and stuff.

That's exactly it. If they have that ability, it negates the need for carefully choosing who they can keep here.
