Summary: An amusement park has popped up in Luceti. It's all over here.

Just some notes here not in the mod post -
1) The weather will be bright and partly cloudy for the rest of the month on the beach side of things. A nice cool sea breeze will keep people from melting out there.
2) All the old Luceti Land rides are still available. However, feel free to make up your own attractions and rides as well.
3) Since this is around for two weeks, we may put up another mass log if this one gets too full. So keep an eye on that!
4) Don't forget to tag your character's name on to the log! If you don't have one yet, just let us know and we'll get you hooked up.

As way of explanation for all this, Bil will have written a message on the first page of the journals. It cannot be replied to, it simply states:

"My condolences for all the trouble. You were due for an experiment today, but I thought you might enjoy an amusement park instead. It seemed like the sort of thing the Great One would do."

Trickery. [Slightly more understandable explanation?] But, um, it's, it's meant to be the fun sort. Entertaining. Generally, at least.

Oh, that sounds very interesting. I can't wait for it to start!

[And actually, she doesn't have to wait long. Soon, a droid is rolling up--top hat included--ready to start the show.]

[...That thing looks ridiculous. Though Dhaos may be biased, as his only experience with them is his recent mallynap.

The first thing the droid does is sweep the hat off its head and begin pulling things out of it. Outrageously long strings of handkerchiefs, swords, various alcoholic drinks, doves, and yes, bunnies.

Dhaos is feeling a little distracted at the moment, somehow, but he does manage to raise an eyebrow at some of the things being pulled out of the hat.]

[Giles can't hold back a wry smile when the rabbits start putting in an appearance. The fluffy bunnies of all shades and sizes don't stay on stage long, hopping away into the crowd as the droid apparently forgets about them.]

It's a good thing Anya isn't here.

[The droid next asks, apparently, for a volunteer from the audience. The volunteer in question is, of course, another droid, that had previously been watching the audience to ensure order.]

Is Anya one of your friends?

[When the droid volunteer heads up to the stage, Grune lowers her hand. Oh well.]

[Dhaos isn't at all interested in 'Anya'. He's currently watching one of the bunnies hop away into the crowd. Probably one of the reasons he didn't have an aneurysm when Grune raised her hand, as the idea of her going up there with the droids is rather disquieting.

After it's disappeared, though, Dhaos looks up. The droid has managed to produce a large box from somewhere and is currently stuffing the volunteer droid inside, probably with the intention of either skewering it or cutting it in half. Eh, Giles' conversation is more interesting.]

...Would she not approve?

Anya is absolutely terrified of rabbits.

[Hm. Giles, for his part, is mildly interested in this. If only because he's not sure whether or not they'll actually bother with the trick or simply actually cut the droid in half. He knows which route the villagers would prefer, but repairing those things must be expensive.]

We never found out why, but it seemed to be the only thing she was actually afraid of.

[Grune, by contrast, is absolutely fascinated by the show. She looks back at Giles only long enough to say:] Oh, but bunnies are so nice and friendly. I wonder why she was afraid of them.

[The heads might come off those things with a well-placed punch, but cutting through them would probably be enough work in itself. The rest of the audience seems to want it, though. Humans.

As the saw is going through the box, Dhaos throws in his two cents.]

I would hardly consider them worth any apprehension.

You both would be among the majority. As would most of the people in our world, from what I could gather.

[A shrug.] Everyone has their eccentricities.

[lostinmyway]

[Speaking of eccentric people, Grune watches, riveted, as the two pieces of the supposedly sawn-in-half droid are turned around onstage, to show it's been completely cut through.]

Oh, my.

[Dhaos will be impressed when he sees it put back together. Or no, he won't be.]

The fact that they chose a droid for this is rather telling.

[consultmybooks]

They know their audience.

[To Grune:] It's all right. They'll be able to put it back together. It just might, um, take a while.

[lostinmyway]

[She glances back at Giles.] Oh, that's very good.

[Those who have been kidnapped might disagree.]

[Yes, watching a droid get sawed in half might feel somewhat... cathartic.]

In fact, that is rather the point.

That's why it's a trick, after all.

[Deeply cathartic. Only facing his death felt more emotionally healing than this.]

[Sure enough, soon the two pieces of droid are placed together again. The magician droid makes a strange gesture and ta-da! The volunteer droid is released, no harm done.

Grune applauds enthusiastically, beaming away.] What a good trick!

[Have a lineface, Mr. Magician Droid. Though Dhaos does wonder how they do that.]

This might have been marginally entertaining if it were a person conducting the show.

Interesting, certainly. Entertaining? I'm coming to enjoy having the droids perform for our amusement rather than dragging us off the streets.

[Grune is far too absorbed by the sight of the volunteer droid to talk. Now the droid is being led into a tall box that's been brought out onto the stage by more droids. Why is she going inside?]

[Honestly, Dhaos just wants the droids gone, period. The fact that they look like magitech just doesn't help.

And gee, looks like they're going to saw him in half and skewer him. The performer droid produces about a dozen swords.]

[consultmybooks]

[To the evident approval of the crowd. Giles watches the first two swords inserted through the box before he speaks again.]

Where would you like to go after this?

[Its a question directed at whichever of the two can muster up an answer.]

[Grune blinks with every sword thrust into the box, though she doesn't look upset. It takes her a moment before she realises Giles has spoken.]

Maybe we could go on the waterslides.

[whatdeheckisdat]

[Dhaos... doesn't care. It'll either be skewered or just fine, so he's already lost interest. Party-pooper.

Also, that sounds like a bad idea somehow.] In our clothes?
