I see the bad moon rising / I see trouble on the way

Who: Everyone!
What: There are these crazy masks everywhere, you see. And does the moon look strange to you?
When: The 23rd through the 30th. (If you want to backdate a thread in here to the 22nd for some reason, feel free. A separate log for the day of Halloween will go up at a later date!)
Where: Everywhere!
Summary: Things are starting to get a little spooky around here. What with masks that range from silly to creepy to downright menacing turning up everywhere, the people wearing them beginning to act strangely, and that menacing moon looking down.... why, it's starting to feel a little like Halloween.
Rating: Anywhere from G to hard R for violence, I'd imagine.

[She does as she's told, though she's still watching him.] ...wait if you were only a few inches tall, how were you even able to hold a sword?

My sword got small with me.

[Okay, give him about a minute and he'll be back. For now he's got a cutting knife, usually used for precision cutting. Extremely sharp. But he's got a pretty steady hand.]

You're going to need to hold still, okay? Just... look up at the ceiling or something.

Why didn't I think of that? [The Malnosso's logic never seemed to make sense to her.]

Okay...I can do that. Let's just hope it hasn't, like, melded with my face or something. [She's suddenly kind of nervous about this, considering that possibility.]

I doubt it's that bad.

[Okay, he'll use his left hand to hold her head steady, then his right to start slicing the mask. He starts from the center and tries to slice along the middle.]

[She's still pretty freaked out, but she doesn't feel the blade at least.] ...how's it working?

Well... I managed to cut through part of it. This might actually work.

[Maybe he'll be able to manage to get through all of it.]

Keep going then. If we can get it off...though it makes you wonder just how cheap the material is.

Normal mask material? I don't know.

[He's going to try to carefully cut deep enough to sever the mask. Will it work?]

[It seems to be working for a time until it also seems to be closing back up at the top where Sokka started. Just thinly, but closing back up.] This is perfect. I think I'm starting to see things outside of it.

Well don't get too excited. It's closing itself back up. [Sokka frowns at seeing it close up again. Maybe he can beat it at it's own game. He puts a wedge into the cut he already has and leaves it there, then moves back to where he cut before.]

What? [She's really tempted to sit up to go look but um, yeah, there's still a blade on her face.] How's that even...ugh.

I'm still trying. I think I can do this.

[Every time he manages to cut part of it, he'll wedge something in the cut. Hopefully that will let him sever the mask completely.]

You think...that's not too reassuring, but this is the only thing that seems to be working so far. Don't tell me you've done this before.

As a matter of fact? No. I have never had to cut a mask off anyone's face before. Have you?

[Okay. Final cut and if this works, it should come off!]

Not really, no. [And indeed the mask falls off! But of course it'll be back later to haunt her, but that's later. She pulls the remains off and throws them to the floor, massaging her cheeks.]

...you're awesome, you know that?

[He'll toss the two pieces aside quickly, to avoid them doing something weird and crazy.]

Well. You know how it is. Stop an evil country, sink a few airships and stuff, and mask removal just comes natural to you.

Ha. Ha. Ha. [She'll be sitting up, just staring at the mask.] But no really, I probably couldn't have done that without you. Hopefully it stays that way.
