Summary: The last day. The end has come. The moon is coming down and piercing the barrier. Nothing can stop it.

By the time morning hits Luceti, the Moon has begun to breach the barrier, noticeable by how the barrier will fluctuate about the Moon's face in strange ribbons of energy. The oceans and lakes begin to rage as they are caught by the Moon's gravity. The ground begins to quake in an unsettling way. Small and harmless tremors that will slowly intensify over the course of the day. With the Moon already partway through the barrier, it will be noticeable that it is not quite as large as the real Moon. Though quite vast, the Moon itself does is not quite the entire size of Luceti, but is large enough to span the entire village and more. The Moon's angered face does not cease for a moment, even as it becomes the only sight in the sky.

Yet it remains in the sky, slowly breaking through the barrier, and proving indestructible in spite of all that is thrown at it. In the evening it will begin to cause gravitational disturbances, drawing up debris and small objects into the air. When it finally reaches midnight, the bottom of the Moon will be one mile above Luceti. At that point, all will suddenly black out and know no more. What becomes of the Moon? Does Luceti go splat? Will CJ finally get his moon rocks? Stay tuned!

[An eleventh-hour check of the village, and that's how Link manages to find Mulder attempting to shoot the moon out of the sky. Wincing at the sounds (those ears are definitely not for show), he hurries over once the shooting has stops.]

Hey - you should get into the tunnels.

[Mulder is trying to find where he'd put another clip of bullets, surprised to see anyone else around. He of course does a double take and looks with great interest at Link.]

If it's all the same, I think I'll wait the apocalypse out up here. More of an up close and personal view.

I have a feeling the same thing will happen to us no matter where we go...

[Why do people keep saying this?] If you stay here you'll die, but you might not in the tunnels! Isn't that worth a try?

If the moon really is about to hit, I doubt there'll be much of Luceti left, caves or not.

[He shakes his head fiercely. Okay, physics isn't his forte, but if other people said it'll be survivable...]

People thing that if we get away, we might be okay. We should at least try!

No, I'm not giving up... but I'm not entirely convinced we're really going to be destroyed.

They'd bring us back if we died. But I don't want another death penalty.

[Sooo tempted to start asking what that experience was like, but Mulder forces himself to focus on the problem at hand.]

Do you think the whole village would end up with penalties, if they had to bring us all back?

Don't you find it odd we haven't heard a thing from the powers that be? If this were a real emergency, wouldn't they be in touch? Even if they would never admit it, we're important to them in some sense...

What if they're in trouble too? [And yes, he still looks worried.] When the earthquake happened, they didn't get in contact for a while.

Really? Then that's all the more reason to start looking around for answers. [He glances to the moon and yells at it.] IF YOU'D TALK INSTEAD OF MAKE THAT SMUG EXPRESSION THAT'D BE A PLACE TO START! [Then looks at Link again.] I might join you folks later. But for now, there's got to be somewhere, some way, to find answers.

[He jumps a little a the sudden shout, but you know what, he does have a point.] Okay - just be careful, alright? And if you can't find an answer, try and get to safety before it hits!

[He may be horrible at accounting for his own safety, but Mulder definitely doesn't want to see anything happen to people who don't deserve any of this.]
