By the time morning hits Luceti, the Moon has begun to breach the barrier, noticeable by how the barrier will fluctuate about the Moon's face in strange ribbons of energy. The oceans and lakes begin to rage as they are caught by the Moon's gravity. The ground begins to quake in an unsettling way. Small and harmless tremors that will slowly intensify over the course of the day. With the Moon already partway through the barrier, it will be noticeable that it is not quite as large as the real Moon. Though quite vast, the Moon itself does is not quite the entire size of Luceti, but is large enough to span the entire village and more. The Moon's angered face does not cease for a moment, even as it becomes the only sight in the sky.

Yet it remains in the sky, slowly breaking through the barrier, and proving indestructible in spite of all that is thrown at it. In the evening it will begin to cause gravitational disturbances, drawing up debris and small objects into the air. When it finally reaches midnight, the bottom of the Moon will be one mile above Luceti. At that point, all will suddenly black out and know no more. What becomes of the Moon? Does Luceti go splat? Will CJ finally get his moon rocks? Stay tuned!

[Cecil turns around to face her. He looks... not quite happy, but certainly not as alarmed or angry as he was earlier in the week.]

Rydia. Are there any supplies left to transport?

[mistlegacy]

[Rydia shakes her head, reaching his side.]

No. We've done all we can do, I think.

[She stares up at the moon, frowning.]

I still don't want to believe it will end like this. It has to be part of the experiment....

[At least, she wants to believe that. But, worn down by the week, she's also not up to her usual stubborn arguing of such.]

Do not worry. The situation is not as dire as I feared it would be.

[Which is really not saying much, considering his predictions. But still, that would explain why he looks surprisingly calm.]

[mistlegacy]

[She just stares at him for a moment in silence after that.]

'Not as dire'? Cecil, the moon is breaking through the barrier!

Yet it does so relatively slowly, and it is smaller than I feared. It will certainly destroy us all, but the planet itself might withstand it, along with its strange power that brings back our dead.

[Or so he hopes.]

[mistlegacy]

[She nods, trying to focus on that point.]

...I really hope you're right, Cecil. It's saved us before. It might do so again.

[paladinlost]

...Besides, I could say I'm quite lucky, though that would be quite selfish of me. Even if the village is destroyed, Ceodore will be safe.

[A father first of all, even now.]

[mistlegacy]

[Rydia smiles faintly at that.]

At least he's spared.

[And she moves in to slip her arms around his shoulders in a half-hug, half-using him to support herself.]

[He leans into that hug, but not so much as to unbalance her.]

Good. He'll have too many troubles because of moons, if this keeps going.

[She makes a slight noise that might be faint, wry amusement. If it could be called that.]

Maybe it's a Lunarian's fate, even though he's not a full one.

Hmph. A curse upon my house and descendants, then.

[Yet there is a small smile upon his face.]

[mistlegacy]

[Rydia's silent for a moment, her mind drifting elsewhere.]

...it's so unfair. I wanted this day to be better for Kain than last year's. He deserves a decent birthday, for once.

[paladinlost]

We might still have time to bake a cake and wrap you in paper.

[That's the one present Kain would like, probably.]

[mistlegacy]

[That gets her to straighten up a bit and she glances to him, surprised and almost amused.]

Cecil....

[paladinlost]

We might as well monopolize the wrapping paper while everyone is too busy to use it.

[mistlegacy]

[She forces a chuckle, then her gaze grows more serious.]

You should be with Rosa. I wouldn't want to keep you two from being together right now.

[paladinlost]

We'll see each other soon enough. I have plenty of time for everyone.

[It might be plenty but it's not enough, it'd never be enough and even less today.]
