Let 'em say we're crazy, I don't care about that!

Who: Everyone!
What: The final day. Moonfall. Twenty-Four hours remain. How do you spend it?
When: The 30th, all day
Where: Anywhere
Summary: The last day. The end has come. The moon is coming down and piercing the barrier. Nothing can stop it.
Rating: It will vary.

Details are here. But here's a recap and expansion!

By the time morning hits Luceti, the Moon has begun to breach the barrier, noticeable by how the barrier will fluctuate about the Moon's face in strange ribbons of energy. The oceans and lakes begin to rage as they are caught by the Moon's gravity. The ground begins to quake in an unsettling way. Small and harmless tremors that will slowly intensify over the course of the day. With the Moon already partway through the barrier, it will be noticeable that it is not quite as large as the real Moon. Though quite vast, the Moon itself does is not quite the entire size of Luceti, but is large enough to span the entire village and more. The Moon's angered face does not cease for a moment, even as it becomes the only sight in the sky.

Yet it remains in the sky, slowly breaking through the barrier, and proving indestructible in spite of all that is thrown at it. In the evening it will begin to cause gravitational disturbances, drawing up debris and small objects into the air. When it finally reaches midnight, the bottom of the Moon will be one mile above Luceti. At that point, all will suddenly black out and know no more. What becomes of the Moon? Does Luceti go splat? Will CJ finally get his moon rocks? Stay tuned!

[ if giles comes looking for buffy -- well, she will be at home. problematically, she is in the queen's mask; her young charge has been coaxed out of her arms and archie and horatio have taken jilly down to the tunnels. she sits on the front steps -- eying the moon with a curious calmness. the mask has smoothed out her more arrogant edges. she's feeling a little...zen.

but she will still be very happy to see the ex-watcher. ]

[Of all the people to look quite so peaceful as the world ends...

Giles doesn't announce his presence for a bit, even as he catches sight of Buffy on the front steps. He waits until he's managed to walk himself a little nearer, at least within arm's length of the porch railing. The day has taken its toll in more ways than one, and will again when he runs into Helios.]

...m-mind if I join you?
herotypical: (} i know that nothing)

Giles.

[ she stands up -- quickly. her tone is still even when she says: ] You're back.

Y-Yes, um...back. Hello.

[I'm back and you sound about as drugged as I currently am, is what he thinks but doesn't say. Instead, he smiles tiredly.] Nice to be back, even if it is at one of the worst possible moments.

Do you, um, do you mind? [He's already been dragged all over the village once, and it was, to say the least, exhausting.]

Please. Help yourself to a patch of porch.

[ but buffy stays on her feet. ] How's your brain doing?

[Giles promptly helps himself, taking a seat with a grateful sigh.

Her question is answered by another hallucination. He winces in pain as it hits, as suddenly he's in a crowded high school hallway and yet so impossibly alone, and almost doesn't hear himself speak.]
Th-The hills are not alive...

...Can I get you anything? Water? Something stiffer?

[He looks up sharply, blinking dazedly as the hallway fades and he's back on the familiar porch.

Then Giles realizes what must have just happened...again...and takes off his glasses to clean them.]

...water, thanks. And, um, any food you might be able to spare. I, um, didn't know if you were planning to move to the tunnels with everyone else.

[It's probably a testament to Giles' tiredness that he has to think on this for a second before shuddering.]

So could I.

Sorry, I've lived on the Hellmouth too long...

Thank you. [He takes it - common sense wars with the realization that he hasn't had much of anything to eat or drink since getting back. Common sense wins. He sips.]

...and knowing is always better.

[And, because he's had to relive almost every instance of Buffy screaming at him, crying because of him, or freezing him out of her life in those three years, Giles can't stop himself from adding:] And I'm s-sorry.
herotypical: [ sad ; angry ] (✝ and we're trying to be faithful)
