Luceti Town Meeting Cycle Year 5

Who: Everyone!
What: Town meeting
When: February 6th at 6 PM
Where: The school cafeteria
Summary: The village gets together for a town meeting. Let there be ideas, plans, and future festivities.
Rating:
With the help of some friends and friends of friends, the school cafeteria has been transformed into a meeting space. Rows of chairs and a few benches fill the space, providing adequate seating for whoever wishes to come to the meeting.

Along the back are some tables set with cookies, pastries, and tea, juice, and coffee for people to munch and sip on, before, during, and after the meeting

By the entrance is another table. On it sits a locked box with a slit on top, small sheets of blank paper, and a few pencils and pens. This is the message box, for anyone who wishes to express an idea or thought in an anonymous manner. The box will later be opened and all the messages inside will be read out loud by Ginia.

At the front sits a platform - one of the ones built for A Midsummer Night's Dream - with a table and chair resting on top. It's where Ginia will sit during the meeting, the extra height for the purpose of being able to see anyone who may be seated in the back row.

[As always, with something structured and solid like this, Robert wants to be a part of it. This is the closest, besides S.H.E.L.L., that anybody has ever gotten to some kind of organized scientific committee, and so he is trying his best to contribute.

Still, he's anxious dealing with the sheer number of people, and so he tends to the edges of the meeting even now, organizing things (repeatedly) to channel his nervousness elsewhere and fiddling with his lab coat's sleeves when he's not.

... Wh-whether one could... o-obtain samples, or... or s-simply analyze the contents...

[After a moment:] ... Are there... r-residents in Luceti whom are... c-capable of aquatic respiration, or at least l-lengthy breath-holding, a-already? I... I can think of s-several residents [- he lives with two of them and is friends with the third -], but... it, of c-course, depends on... w-willingness...

[... Trailing off awkwardly now, yep.]

[Robert is nervous in this meeting, but speaking to Helios is always easier for him.]

[He smiles, almost shyly.] ... There are... s-so many different cultures here, and... and I would like to l-learn more about them.

[As somebody who is used to these provisions being in place for non-humans, and who empathizes with these problems himself, Robert is glad Rainbow Dash brought it to the attention of Luceti.]

... A-Are there... other s-situations in which you have... f-found yourself having difficulty...? Like, er, f-furniture designs...?

... T-Terra has... customized furniture b-blueprints, but... I suspect here would... n-need to make them to specifications... d-due to the variability of the... s-species of the population...

Robert is kind of proud of himself for dealing with this as well as he did. Luceti really has changed him, hasn't it? He never would've been able to stick around for something like this before.

It is nicer when people are mostly leaving, though...

... Still, Robert won't go home immediately. He'll spend time reflexively cleaning up (yes, maybe even after your character) and perhaps talking with a few of his friends before he heads back home.

This is good practise for dealing with S.H.E.L.L. later, isn't it?]

Kazooie shows up a little before the meeting begins and immediately struts right into the fray, helping herself to cookies and tea as she wanders around chatting up whoever'll listen.

She's mostly excited to figure out what kind of stuff will happen. Maybe they can have some minigames!]

No, if we're going to do that, it might as well be the barracks. I just said that lake house because I assumed no one was in it, but it's a bad control. That lake house was commissioned by someone I know isn't here anymore and built by... well probably a lot of people who aren't here anymore.

[After hearing that, he considers this conversation done. So, he turns away with a slight backhanded wave, says--]
