Who: Masaomi and anyone who comes

When: 18th, Midday-ish (it's really on the 19th, but draft)

Summary: Masaomi wanted to see his friends before the draft and ts' his birthday tomorrow. So he took the thing Mikado Announced and decided to make it on the day before to make it easier on everyone

[Well it's a "party" - Masaomi at least didn't plan for things like decorations or a cake, so there's just the video games, pool table, air hockey, and whatever else is normally here. If other people brought cake or food though, that's good! His message said that this was't planned (mostly because with is broke arm he can't lug anything and he didn't want to force that on Shikamaru. But yeah!! Let's... okay so it might not be the most enjoyable thing ever given the date, but let's interact!

I'll be making subthreads for gifts and food (the later because it's not supplied so people know what's there) but other than that make your own thread, mingle, mass log stuff ♥ If you character is a friend of Masaomi's assume he rang them about the date-change. Same for anyone who replied to Mikado's entry about it. If you want to crash it that's okay too, or say you heard from someone else or just followed someone there or... anything...]

[Shrug- or well, shrug with one arm. He needs to remember not to do that because it still makes him wince on the cast'd up arm. Sigh]

[And that makes her shake off Shikamaru's weirdness and take a half-step forward in concern.]

[...Okay he keeps a smile on his face, feeling a bit hawkward to have blundered there]

I've been doing that. Everyone's excited to get it out of the way. [He nods to some of the others - Ino's hoodie is hung over a chair and Aang's figurine stands there next to the big bag or box that is Tenten's and the goggles gold gave him]

[Katara follows his nod to see the spread and smiles a little at Aang's figurine before returning her attention to Masaomi.

...she's oddly nervous, suddenly.]

Well... do you want to open mine?

[He notices her nervousness. He... decides to dismiss saying anything about it, turning to face her more and nodding, putting on a genuine smile]

If you'd have me to it.

[That smile doesn't help her fluster, really. Her gaze snags on his lips for a blink of a moment before, thankfully, she has to turn away to get the bag she put his present in.]

It's on the table over there.

[What if it's not enough? What if he doesn't like it? What if it's too much?]

[Okay? He'll turns to where she's gesturing and make ready to follow her to it. He needs to open things on tables anyway to do this well with one hand. he... doesn't comment still, but is starting to think he should]

[Yes, well. Don't you dare.

Anyway, the table's not far - there are two small bags, tied together with a loose yellow ribbon. She unties it and slides one bag towards him.]

This one first.

[Inside he will find a black and white scarf with yellow cross-stitching on the edge (which yes, she did herself) sized appropriately for Linda.]

[He nods and opens it-

Linda is off eating cookies somewhere else. But he looks at it and smiles. Wow, this looks good. He runs his finger along the cross-stitch, smiling to himself]

Oh wow... nice work on this.

[Brave Linda.]

Thanks. They're really for both of you - I thought you might like to each dress up sometimes.

[Since. You know. You like that kind of thing.

[He really, really does. And he considers the possibilities here, a thought in his mind about it. He clothes his eyes and snickers. Man, she'd fuss. Okay though, he sets that down and looks over to Katara again]

If she had her way she'd vanish it from the table.

The smile that she levels at him is slightly tinted with that nervous desire.]

[...Okay she's been awkward long enough. With those set down, he's going to screw up his face and-]

[Katara puts her hand on the bag and... leaves it there, as she needs to take a moment to actually think out what the consequences would be if she told him she changed her mind.

...yeah, he'd probably let it go. After making it a Thing. Which would spoil the enjoyment of the party and sour this memory.

She'd rather be a fool first - and she was. This gift was too much, and it was not enough.

She slid the bag towards him, forced herself to let go.]

If you don't like it, I want you to tell me. I'll get you something else.

[She had pondered this question to no end, but the fact was - he at least knew that she sort of liked him now. And he was in love with her. And one of her dearest friends. And Suki's disappearance had reminded her just how good it was to have something solid from the person you cared about in the event that something happened, it served as a reminder and a comfort.

So she'd thought about it. And - after Mikado's reminder about Masaomi's birthday (why was she so terrible at dates?) - she had decided to give him something like that. She spent long hours in the Item Shop, trying to find something that he would like, as opposed to what she would like - she deliberately selected the color so it didn't reflect her, though all her inclinations were towards blue and in the end, the present that was causing her so much nervousness was chosen.

But she still had no idea if she even guessed right, if he'd even want to wear it at all...]

[Wow she's... really serious about this. And feeling really awkward, which means it must be something of significant importance. He's actually feeling his heart rate increase as he rummages in the bag with his good hand to get it. And when he does...

He blinks. It's not something he would ave expected from her. Jewelry? And the fashion's different too. Previously, she'd made him clothes he had worn and other things, but somehow he can sense she's putting some great intimacy in this. He runs this around his hand and considers all the bracelets he has on today. Huh...

He sets down her gift, and then sets off (and this is hard to do with only one arm he can move right, he keeps needing to move things over to the hand at the end of the cast on the other arm) unclipping and other arm. His intention is to get them off so he can put them into the bag, but with how clumsy this is, he's going to end up having some slide to the floor too]

[He's not even saying anything--]

Woah, what-

[She moves to catch some of his bracelets at Masaomi's abrupt movements.]

What are you doing?

Making some room on my wrist! [Okay... that's...! All of them. Now he needs her help putting this one on]

You don't need to do that!

[If Katara was an anime character, there would be sweatdropping and lame handwaving, as it is she just looks uncomfortable.]

You could just put it on with everything else, I mean...

[She bends down to pick up a fallen bracelet.]

I already said that I don't want you to wear it if you don't like it.

[So come on, it's not a big deal. Right? Right.]

Eeeeh, isn't this just my style?

[And there, the last of his old ones is off, and he puts his wrist out for her] Put it on for me?

I was hoping so, but I wasn't sure. But if you're sure... then sure.

[It's easy to drop her gaze and focus on clasping the bracelet.

There may be the faintest blush as she takes care of it - or it may be the light. This feels weird.]
