[Aang goes about his week normally... except when he's spontaneously falling in love. Parts of his day include working at the Welcome Center, drinking at the tea shop, looking for books at the library and going into the forest for nature walks. Or one could catch him practicing any of the four elemental bending styles early in the day, near House 56.

Through odd compulsion, he finds himself spending more time with Appa the sky bison and Momo the flying lemur. Maybe he's about to go on a bison ride or using firebending to melt a barrel of frozen water from the river for Appa.

Something's in the air; something odd, something different. For once, instead of Katara, he finds his mind daydreaming about the unknown.]

[ The forest? Oh, Arietta likes the forest! She'll happen to catch sight of Aang on one of his walks, and--

What is this sudden flush she feels? A warmth in her chest... familiar, yet somehow different from anything she's ever felt before. Without even stopping to think about it, she starts to make her way though the trees towards Aang. ]

[Aang hears someone calling out to him, and the voice alone makes his heart skip. In a way that... well, only Katara could usually make him feel. But this felt even different in a way.

He turns to face her with his own blush on her face and stammmers slightly, speechless at this new girl. Something about her...]

Oh- hello!

[ Her heart skips a beat when he replies. Arietta picks up the pace a little bit, closing the gap between them even faster. She's not exactly sure what's going on, but for some reason... this boy is making her heart race. She spends a moment looking him over, but her gaze keeps drifting back towards his head. It just looked so nice and smooth and... ]

Is it alright if I touch it?

[ Though her words on their own lack the context, it's pretty obvious that she's staring at Aang's head.

... It might be an awkward question anyway. ]

[He feels a lot more gelatinous as she approaches. He's not sure what he's feeling, why his heart his beating in this way for this stranger, and... is she asking to touch his head? He blinks at first in confusion.]

What - my... head?

[And then he gives a nervous chuckle and points towards his arrow tattoo.]

S-sure! Go ahead!

[ She positively beams when he says it. ]

Thank you!

[ She moves closer to Aang, and after a moment hesitantly reaches out. When her fingers reach his head, she starts petting it, at first hesitantly but then growing more confident as her hand moves over the skin. ]

It's so smooth...

[She seems so happy at the opportunity, that Aang can't help but grin back. It is kind of weird in a way, but at the same time, it's kind of soothing to feel on his forehead. The touch is nice enough to start inspiring a blush.]

Oh! Thank you... I- I shave every day...

[ She pets him for several more seconds before finally stepping back. ]

I've never met anyone who shaves before.

I'm Arietta. Who are you?

I guess I'm the first, then! I'm Aang. It's nice to meet you, Arietta. That's - it's a pretty name. [Then again, there's something about that voice. Every word she says sounds pretty to him.]

Aang... I like it. [ She smiles again. ] It's nice to meet you too. Do you visit the forest a lot?

Thank you. And yeah, I do visit it a lot! It can be really peaceful. Plus I really like nature - and animals! Do you? [There's hope in his breath. For some reason, this detail is one that he really wants to know.]

I wonder why I've never run into you before. I'm out in the forest a lot! I really like monsters and animals.

That's surprising. But it's a big forest! We must've always been in different parts. Still... it's really nice that you like animals. [He feels really relieved and very light on the inside. And Aang really likes the idea of having fun with her involving animals. But one thought confuses him.] And... monsters, too? Aren't they dangerous?

first day?

[She wanders around the village, head turning every time she overhears a boy talking or spots one with lovely green eyes. It's funny how these traits used to bother her so very much before. There are no bad boys attracting her interest. Only nice and good.

In Aang's case, it is not so much the boy himself who catches her attention but his actions. Elemental bending is unlike most magic she's seen before. And so she walks over, closer to House 56, determined to get a better look.]

What is it that you are doing?

[Aang is practicing in a shallow puddle of melted snow. The fact that he's practicing firebending should explain that very well. He usually doesn't use firebending that much, but something in the air has him feeling like expressing his life. Firebending consists of quick and decisive moves with punches and kicks similar to forms of kung fu.

But he hears a familiar voice call out to him. And he turns to face her, and he remembers their video conversation over the journals. Leah... she looks after Little Loki, isn't that what she said? In restrospect, Aang suddenly finds that to be very admirable. And he greets her with his toothiest smile.]

Oh... hey Leah! I'm just practicing some firebending!

[thehandmaiden]

[The smile is returned, albeit not as toothy and a bit more shy. It's something about that grin, the way it's directed at her, that makes Leah want to giggle and act coy. Much like she would were Daimon Hellstrom demonstrating his own abilities in front of her.

(Or lacking a shirt. Leah very much likes Daimon's lack of a shirt.)

But she does look down at the puddle of snow in front of Aang and then quirks an eyebrow.]

Firebending?

[It's either fortunate or unfortunate that this isn't during a warmer season instead, given Aang and his friends' propensity towards losing shirts then. Instead, Aang is just wearing some winter clothing, but nothing too heavy since he was practicing Firebending.

Still, it's nice to see her smile. And he rubs at the back of his bald head nervously.]

Yeah! I never told you about bending, did I? You could say it's kind of like magic, but it feels a lot more natural to us. Basically, in my world there are benders who can control move the elements through martial arts! And... fire's an element. Of course! [He adds with a quick, nervous laugh.]

[She chuckles a little as well, trying her best to be reassuring. It is rather adorable, the way he explains fire unnecessarily. Very adorable.]

Of course. [And she holds her own hands out, allowing green flames to dance in her hands.] In my world, there are those of us capable of creating fire through magic as well. Though I do not need to harness the martial arts to do so.

[Aang is always easily impressed; but something about fire - so violent, so dangerous - is appealing to him oddly. Fire's so cool. She's cool.]

Hey, that's really cool! Your fire's really green.

[She blushes a little, looking quite pleased with his response.]

All my magic usually is.

Really? What other kinds of things can you make with magic? [It's all so exciting and mysterious.]

[A demonstration! She's become rather fond of those.]

Do you have a favorite flower, perhaps?

[savedtheworld]

A flower? [He's not sure where this is going, but he answers with a smile.] Do you know what a panda lily is? I think that's my favorite.

[thehandmaiden]

[Oh. She wishes that she had spent more time in the library researching flowers. Disappointment in herself is an unfamiliar feeling. One she decidedly does not like.]

Is that anything like a Midgardian lily?

[Aang doesn't really feel disappointed at least; he's used to realizing by now that most worlds have different stuff than he is. And he at least knows that the normal varieties of flowers seem to be the same in most worlds.]

If you mean the normal kinda lily, it does look like that! Except it has white petals that are black on the edge.
