What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

Oh really! I'll...have to go and check those out then. I am a bit hungry watching the booth all day. [ Helios is just itching to walk around too. But his inquisitive smile turns into a light frown and he looks a bit...pensive and reluctant to reply. ]

I'm...doing alright. Better than most shifts leave me sometimes. [ He huffs a laugh but there's hardly any mirth to it. ] Are you doing alright? That was quite the experience for s-someone so new. The spirits aren't normally like that, as I'm sure you've read. It was...very strange to say the least.

It is. In the end it could lead to so many possibilities. I just want the best for everyone I know and care about. A shared sentiment across many a person, I know, but I hope that one day that idea can bring us together.

[ He shrugs and huffs a little as Luminair nudges him to be picked up. ] Perhaps I'm just a bit too optimistic about it all.

Ahahha, a few things. History'd never been my favorite subject. [Even if this all isn't strictly history. Amuses that she dropped it, he instead just looking down from her face to look closer at the map.] Not that I'd object to private lessons.

[Zuko has to think about those scrolls for a moment. They don't talk about a group of friends, just his great grandfather - well, his other great grandfather, and his wife.]

But it's definitely a good system. I don't know if Aang would have made it without the others.

[ Helios isn't sure how to take it at the moment. His shoulders hunch as he thinks and debates with himself internally about everything he's heard. He'll look back at Adele his green eyes sad and somewhat frustrated. ]

Ah yes. That-that would cause a bit of a...problem with things. [ He'll lightly gnaw on his lip as he sighs and shakes his head. ]

I-I was worried is all. We all were. You just-just left and I thought that you may have left the house because of...Frederic and-and Makie and Kitten coming in. It made me feel a bit guilty I suppose. I didn't intend for their arrival to push you or Sabriel and Lireal out. Frederic is just...a very good friend of mine, almost like a brother. [ He was sad that he and Adele wouldn't get to talk since the both of them were like family to him here. There was the matter of Saori now too. ]

But I'm glad you're doing alright.

[First, he shows a face of mock-surprise, as in he didn't know she was there! But that drops quick enough into an expression which would look thoughtful if he wasn't smirking, and as it is, looks more disjointed and playful than anything]

Well if you somehow missed the booth with the elements and animals, that's worth three looks. Of course, if you're asking me if I find you fascinating, you'd have to get three guesses of 'yes' before you'd be correct.

[Have one (1) enthusiastic Jack Holden, looking over the table with interest. He only wrinkles his nose a little once he draws closer, though the look bears a curious amount of recognition.]

And . . . no, wait, don't tell me. A public toilet full of corpses?

Really? Huh. Scones must be different in your world.

[Or country. Jack realizes that he has no idea what's done with scones outside of Britain, America, and Canada. But with an easy shrug, he smiles, inviting the stranger closer with a gesture.]

Come and try one, won't you? The tea's still hot, and we have strawberry preserves.

Korra works really well with a team, but I think she could probably still manage on her own.

[The idea of going to the cultural festival had been rather spontaneous, on Freyjadour's part. When Tear met up with Frey after his shift at the tea shop, they had passed by the festival and both had glanced over, before Frey quietly asked if she wanted to go take a look.

Both in agreement, they'd taken to wandering between booths in the town square, browsing the stalls as they go, sometimes apart but more often together. A surprising sight for some, however, would be that they can sometimes be seen holding hands as they walk side by side.

OOC: Threads can contain both Frey and Tear, or just one or the other.]

"I see many with that power, but most choose not to use it. Probably for the best, if everyone lived at their full potential they may burn brightly like a star for a bit but soon would have exhausted everything."

[The colour? Max glances over at the scones, frowning slightly. They look normal colour. Like normal baked cake-thing colour.]

They must be different. I don't think I've ever seen a scone another colour.

We also have clotted cream. And whipped cream for heathens.

Mostly, she was shocked that this might actually work...so here she was, waiting for his pennies to drop.

I haven't lived there for a while, so I can't say for sure. But considering the primary trade has been illegal since 1958, my guess is it's changed considerably in the years since.
