What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

[When he smiled, Suki could feel the guilt rising in her, but she pushed it away. She just wanted to be happy for a change, and she was going to force herself to do just that, even if this felt wrong.]

[What fresh hell hallucination is this. The Malnosso have been drugging Don all week, making him have bizarre visions of tornadoes and giant wings, but he doesn't know what to make of these paper gates, shivering gently in a light breeze. Is this real? Some sort of test?]

[He looks around cautiously, trying to orient himself and determine a course of action.]

[He hasn't yet realized that this is Luceti, and that he himself is invisible, inaudible, and intangible.]

"...It's not life, though. They're just toys. I mean, they move but they aren't alive."

Asami really wasn't sure what to make of this odd girl.

"You really haven't seen any of these things before, huh?"

Layton and co.'s London booth

[Settled near the other British booths are Layton, Luke, and Flora with their booth on puzzlesque London. There are a number of items on display, including books, trinkets, and a number of treats both packaged and homemade -- though the homemade ones may look a little... shabby. Potentially mysterious. Otherwise, small pictures of streets and landmarks are posted about. A sign hangs above the booth, and along with paintings of the Union Jack and English flag is the promise:

A top hat (regrettably not as magnificent as Layton's) filled with paper slips sits up front, and the displays are all numbered. As advertised, successful answers to puzzles posed by a fake!bearded Layton or his cohorts will get to draw a number and receive a random British prize. Step right up!]

[Kurt feels something like a swirling of butterflies at her compliment, and he smiles goofily.]

Hey... You're a real ray of sunshine, yourself. S-so... That's step one done! What should we... y'know, go for next?

Well, um... [Blushing now.] I've never been on a date before. What would you normally do next?

{The air gates is actually the first thing Makie comes across of the fair. :|a Returning to the village from the surrounding forest, the bright colours of the gates catch her eye through the trees.

Before long, you've got a quiet presence watching the whole thing with fascination. (And... possibly wincing at someone being clubbed in there.)]

[Hot vegetable dumplings, you say.]

Never? But... [You had a boyfriend. Luckily Kurt realize that would be an awkward reminder, so instead he segues into a comforting smile.]

That doesn't matter. Guess I have to make sure this one goes great then, right? But dinner's usually the next part.

Sokka and I never dated. We just sorta... happened. [She could tell that's what he was "but"-ing about.]

Dinner sounds nice though. [She reaches over for his hand.] If I would've known about the date, I would've made you something from home.

[Aang of course doesn't notice him yet. Instead, he's just hanging around with Momo while waiting for any new volunteers to arrive. He currently walks towards the gates while talking to Momo, who's on his shoulder.]

Come on, Momo! Give the gates a try. I wanna see how good you do! It'll be okay if you fly instead of walk, and I won't laugh if you fail, okay? Let me just get them started!

[And Aang takes in some air and bends it at the gates - they begin to move at a good speed.]

[She didn't quite intend to attend the fair, but upon stumbling into part of it from the forest, curiosity drew her the rest of the way. And then... well, this is different to what she was expecting. But then, Makie reflects, she should be used to the fact by now that events here aren't going to be remotely familiar to home.

Still, the amount of things on display are fascinating. She visits most stalls, though she doesn't say much, just observing quietly in a way that might make it seem she's bored. Not quite the case; she's just not one for talking. Though she'll smile at anyone who meets her gaze.

She's also looking for someone. But. Looks like he's not here. Pity.

As usual, she has her shamisen.]

[Ralph swaggers right up the booth at some point and sizes it up.]

Well, well, well. Looks like I found the minigame booth.

Oh I. I- I see. [He frowns a bit at that, but perks back up at the food topic.

And grabs onto her hand.]

That's fine. We could check out one of the restaurants... or maybe grab some grub from the fair.

[That is a very colourful stall you have there, Helios. Given she's come past airbenders and firebenders on her way here, at least Makie doesn't stop to gape this time, though she does look faintly startled at many colours and bright flashy nature of some of those...

...what even are those? Maybe she's staring a little after all. But that won't stop her approaching, anyway.]

[Tear had only noticed Eley's project just as he was finishing, even tilting her head a bit out of curiosity. From where she stood all she could notice was a careful arrangement of shells and stones, so she comes a little closer so she could see better, and most of all ask Eley what this was all about.]

Would you mind my asking what it is you've made?

[Incoming child!!! Lax doesn't mind her. Hi. Can you get him some moon cakes oh nevermind Diamond's getting one for him munch munch.]

Mmhmm! Lax is a Munchlax. [He's admiring Soren too! Totally not bothered by Ikki's small stature.] I've never seen your friend before either~! Hi there.

"I only journeyed into the realm of mortals a few times before I left, and after I left the beast I hunted was in the sea of the soul. I believe my lack of understanding is why I never could beat it. Still, your tiny metal people may someday have a soul if you truly care for them."

Elizabeth swings by the booth later in her day and peers at the food, taking a sniff and pondering.

"Some sort of spiced breakfast cereal?"

Me? Nah. I'm just helping Raine move a few things around. [ she lifts an arm, as if flexing muscles. ] Just call me Miss Manual Labour.

[Oh, a visitor already? And one he's sure seems familiar. He moves away from the map and comes to her side to look with her now.]

It is said 'Ey-thur'. It is the name of my world... I did not have much of an opportunity to gather things to describe all of the cultures of my home. There are far too many to represent all of them effectively.

[Eley hadn't noticed Tear perusing his work until she spoke, he was far too invested in his strange work of art. Still, at the sound of that voice he looks up from what he's doing and steps back, now answering her question.]

It is a map of my world. I... did not know where to begin when portraying individual cultures. I have seen many across the entire world of Aether. Therefore I thought it best to show this world in the way I see it.

[Aang gives a friendly smile upon seeing Eley while browsing around the fair, remembering their Kipinn-induced hijinks fondly. He knows that was partly due to Kipinn's influence, but he won't let that affect his opinion of the wind spirit. He leans over to scrutinize the model.]
