EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT

Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...

Rating: P for Points! (Keep it PGish, folks. Anything worthy of a higher rating can be brought to your appointments posts.)

As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.

Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.

Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head

[ Ikki will be participating in the scavenger hunt - sort of! About half of the items sound too dangerous for her to actively pursue with actual parental approval, so she'll just be up for helping anyone who needs her help for some reason. She'll also be bouncing around all the sectors pretty freely, because come on why would you not!! Although she's probably going to avoid any potential caveman/astronaut battles. She'll probably try to make friends with the new NPCs and will overall have a blast. ...She's also probably going to be found a lot just. Hopping from one sector to another literally, back and forth over the line, to see her clothes change. You can come across her doing any of these things! Scavenging, making friends, sector-hopping, etc. Soren will 100% of the time be in tow and keeping an eye on her.

Sector-specific activties? Playing around the Nile, although she won't go into the tombs without an adult she knows in Egypt; wondering if riding the huge furry creatures in the Ice Age is acceptable and if so how to go about it; talking to robots in the Space Age; and overall having a blast in the Shogunate, since portions of it are semi-culturally familiar. She will also love mochi so uh that's going to be a thing.

Costumes are: Shogunate, Gangland, Egypt, Space Opera, and something water-tribe-y for Ice Age, maybe. ]

[Today, Aang is escorting Ikki through the Ice Age, himself garbed in Water Tribe clothing, with the hood pulled up to hide the hair that is now in Water Tribe fashion (but at least his arrow still shows). It's an ice way to have some fun. He holds her hand, and they hear one of those huge beasts in the distance.]

Think we could ride one, Ikki?

Day 2!

[breezing]

[ They are so cute in their matching water tribe clothes. Ikki's hairdo is probably fascinating to her (she leaves her hood down), but less fascinating than the huge beasts.

She lights up instantly. ]

Yes!!! ...Is it allowed?

Day 2!

No one said it isn't! [And a reassuring squeeze of the hand.] And I'll make sure it's safe, okay?

Day 2!

[breezing]

[ She hadn't even considered being afraid, really. She's holding her grandfather's hand, and she knows he wouldn't let anything happen to her. ]

Yeah!! ...Hey, what do you think they ARE, anyway?

[metalbends]

[Does Toph qualify as an adult? Well, anyway. If they want to finish this scavenger hunt, they've gotta go into the tombs.]

Don't worry. Since I'm an earthbender, this is gonna be a piece of cake! [SO JUST forget all that hearsay about booby traps...]

[breezing]

[ Well, she qualifies in Ikki's book! And probably Katara and Aang's. ...You know, when Toph isn't encouraging dangerous activities or excess sugar, but it isn't as though Toph would ever allow anything to hurt her, so. ]

Right! It's all made of earth! [ And even if there's a lot of sand, Toph's the best earthbender ever. 8D ]

[metalbends]

Exactly! I'll be able to lead us right to the treasure. I'll be able to see any booby traps along the way, too.

[breezing]

What sort of treasure do you think it is??? [ As she skips along after Toph. ]

Day 2, gangland?

[Loki's haunting gangland as normal, because it's his favorite of all the places. He spots a familiar face when he's gone out into the street, trying to locate one of the car-things again, though he's still not sure which type he's supposed to be looking for. They all seem very similar to him.

He spots a familiar and beloved face, though he's surprised to see her here of all places by herself. It's a bit unsavory, even if he thinks it's practically an amusement park.]

Hello, Ikki. What are you doing here?

Day 2, gangland!

[breezing]

[ She's not entirely by herself; if Loki looks up, he'll see Soren circling overhead, keeping a close eye on his small trainer. Ikki herself gives Loki a cheerful grin, taking in the new sight of her friend in...well, that suit. It's very snazzy, Loki! ]

I'm not doing anything in particular! I mean, I just got off of school, so I thought I'd look around. There're lots of new people here, huh? I mean, I guess they're not new feathers, but...

[ Well, look at all these prohibition era folk. Look at all these potential friends! ]

Day 2, gangland!

They're not quite people like you and me, I'm afraid. If I've understood it right, they'll just be here for the experiment and then gone again, so you may not want to be too friendly with them.

That's a very cute dress, by the way.

[breezing]

Oh! ...Well, I'll still be nice. I mean, THEY think they're real, right? [ She'll just...try not to get attached. ]

Thanks!! [ Here, she will spin so you can see how all the little tassel things flare! ...Yes she might have spent a inordinate amount of time just spinning around in this dress why do you ask. ] I think it might be my favourite outfit!!! Although my space outfit's really shiny. Are yours all good?

Day 2 - Ice Age

[Now, while the heat in the Nile is something of horrendous torture for Miyabi, the blistering cold doesn't bother her one bit and even a simple hooded coat and fuzzy boots is enough to keep her warm in the frigid tundra. As it stands, she's actually riding on the back of a large and impressive smilodon, who's lacking a tooth but seems nonplussed by its absence. Really, Miyabi seems to be having a hearty conversation with the big cat, rubbing its head and scratching behind its ears every so often.

Violence really isn't the answer sometimes. And it sure as heck helps when you can understand and talk to some animals. She got lucky being able to understand and communicate with this one, he was hopping mad from that toothache before she pulled it.

Feel free to notice the two, though Mr. Kitty may notice Ikki first either through sound or smell. She'll be safe, though, because Miyabi won't let her new friend attack anyone carelessly.]

Day 2 - Ice Age

[breezing]

[ Ikki herself is just exploring the new terrain, Soren a constant onlooker overhead. ...Well, exploring and leaving the terrain dotted with snowmen of varying skill and size, but hey, she's a child and this is basically her job.

She doesn't notice Mr. Kitty first, no, but Soren does, and shrills a warning, causing Ikki to whirl, her hands going up defensively, prepared to bend. ]

Day 2 - Ice Age

[inkdrops]

[Mr. Kitty lumbers upon the child, his ears perking up at the cry from overhead. Miyabi, too, hears the call and spots the child from her higher vantage point on the massive wildcat's back. Quickly, she sets a hand on Mr. Kitty's head to try and calm him down. That looks like a kid...or a very small or faraway person. No need to get growly.]

Wait. ...Hello over there! You can come near, you have my word that he won't do anything bad.

[markofthewise]

As always, letting Ikki just run around without someone keeping an eye out on her wasn't an option. But even though Sokka was supposed to be watching her, he figured it wouldn't hurt to keep hunting items if it wasn't too dangerous. After all, no violence! So Sokka inevitably led her to The Nile while dressed for the part. Although not too crazy about the head, at least that temple up ahead looked peaceful enough.]

Okay Ikki, I'm going to try and get a knife off that priest. You just stay back out of sight, okay?

[breezing]

[ Even less so when there were scorpions and other things around, although Soren's proven pretty adept as a guardian - or at least he seems pretty fond of attacking scorpions. Ikki's perfectly happy to tag along on treasure hunting, especially when Luceti is acting up in fantastic ways like this, so she just nods, not offering up any sort of protest. ]

Right! I'll be like a ninja! [ Or she will be like a child who might try to build a sand castle by the wall over there out of boredom but tomato tahmahto. ]

[markofthewise]

No no. Ninjas is the Shogunate thing. Be more like... whatever the closest thing to ninjas are in the desert.

[Whatever that may be! Sokka wanders off to talk to the priest. For quite a while, actually, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.]

[pendantry]

[Stalking around the Shogunate, as one does, Raven is reminded so strongly of Shino's Inn that she keeps looking over her shoulder for the place. It keeps not appearing. There are similar ponds full of fish and flowers, though, and spotting energetic Ikki in the mostly peaceful atmosphere is a piece of cake.

Thus! Raven draws close enough to her and her mochi to shuffle her feet a bit before tapping the girl on the shoulder.]

[breezing]

[ There's a startled moment where Ikki juggles her mochi, but when she turns Raven gets a full-fledged grin of recognition. She's perfectly at ease in the Shogunate; it's closer to her home than anything else Luceti has thrown at her, and the clothes aren't too dissimilar from other things she's worn, either.

But it's mostly the peaceful atmosphere that reminds her of Air Temple Island. And maybe something of the relaxed nostalgia shows through. ]

Raven!!! How are you?

[pendantry]

Fine. [Should have expected a huge grin like this. The Shogunate doesn't settle Raven the way a farming village might, but it is very calm here.]

Mmh...how are you?

Shogunate day!?

[ Enjoying the sweets, eh Ikki?

Have a Souji chilling on a bench outside of a small shop, a small bag of konpeito in one hand. He's quietly munching on his sugary snack, just watching people pass by.

If Ikki passes by, his eyes lock onto her. Hey, doesn't he know her from somewhere? ]

Shogunate day!

[breezing]

[ The sweets are the best part of this experiment, man.

She's running by when she skids to a stop, actually - Ikki figured out how to run in her Shogunate get-up pretty quickly. She stops for a few reasons: he was looking at her, she felt like she recognized him, and she'd never seen the treat he's eating.

Overhead, a bird pokemon circles and lands on the roof of the shop as his trainer stares at Souji, puzzling it over before pointing at him dramatically. ]

Okita Souji!!! Do you have a fish named Dog?

[gohon]

[ Or do you mean the sweetest part?

He chuckles, and gives her a little smile. Ah, yes, he remembers this voice. But can't say he knows her name. ]
