New Feather Party, Summer Edition!

It's been a lot of hard work, but the New Feather Party is set up and ready to go! A make-shift canopy has been set up, underneath which are a few small tables covered with various foods, some made by Welcome Center staff(though people are encouraged to bring dishes of their own to share!) along with some small ice-filled coolers full of various drinks. There are also a few beach balls, some buckets full of water balloons and some small water pistols (All Pilouette could find were the basic kind; no pumps here!) scattered about for for a bit of fun in the hot weather.

[Pilouette is doing her best to set things up; setting up tables, arranging what food they already have out and putting out the various recreational items. She's actually feeling pretty good about this whole thing and seems to be pretty cheery as she goes about her work, readily helping out with whatever she's asked to.]

[ Helios is going to be helping setup the party as well. There's magically cold coolers that'll stay cold despite the sun and the heat of the beach. And there's lots of traditional island foods that he's cooked as well. Jerk chicken, paella, coco bread, and even bulla cakes as well. ]

Ah! Pilouette do you need any help setting anything up?

[Well he's not sure the grill he's got is going to work too well here without any outlets, so instead, he's making do with some cold foods - he's making from fruit salad and he's got a cooler of the freshest fish he could find and making shashimi of it. So... he's here. Showing his support.]

[A party down by the beach sounded absolutely wonderful to Kiki, so here she is with a plate full of many different sandwiches. It's not much compared to what other food is on offer, but she wanted to contribute in some way when she heard it was encouraged that people bring their own food to share. The types of sandwiches range from simple lettuce and tomato to tuna, ham and cheese. Hopefully she has enough variety to cover everyones tastes.

While Kiki does spend a lot of time under the canopy introducing herself to people she can also be found out on the beach enjoying the sun and the sea breeze. Even on a day like today she's wearing the dark coloured dress she always has on. She's not sure how being brought to a new world should effect her training, but until she figures out what to do about it she decides to stick to the dark outfit she always wore back home.]

[Pilouette is eager make sure everyone is having fun, especially the New Feathers. Kiki's dark dress is definitely noticable among all the swim wear and whatnot and Pilouette realizes she doesn't recognize her while she's grabbing a drink from one of the coolers.

Grabbing an extra soda, she approaches Kiki with a smile and holds the drink out towards her.]

[There are two cakes on the table thanks to Panda!

The first is a cake shaped like Panda's face. Delicious vanilla and chocolate frosting combined with soft vanilla cake make the ultimate cake for this party, right?

...Strangely, the second cake looks an awful lot like Pilouette's face. They can all thank the bakery for that. It takes him a while to get both cakes to the party and out of their boxes, but they're done.]

Summer stories, huh? Oh, I've got the perfect one, and it all started on the longest day of the year...

[Dash rubs her front hooves together, grinning broadly.]

See, every year in Equestria, we have this huge party called the Summer Sun Celebration. We party all night and then we watch Princess Celestia raise the sun, except this time... the sun didn't come up. Instead, a totally evil pony named Nightmare Moon popped up with a sinister plan to make the night last forever.

[She does a creepy laugh as she says this, just to set the mood.]

If you wanna hear the rest, well, I can tell you. After all, I was one of the ponies who helped stop Nightmare Moon.

[ That... is definitely a talking pony and Marita is sure she does not know how to take that. She is also pretty sure that not only is it a talking pony, but one from a franchise that her own niece is heavily into. Somehow, thanks to many years of diplomacy, she manages to keep a perfectly stoic face while listening to and addressing Rainbow Dash. ]

You mean that your sun and moon are not controlled by the earth's rotation... but by your princess?

[ Because Helios can't help himself sometimes, there will be sand sculptures traipsing about the beach with life like flourishes and movements that make them seem real. Whether it be dragons, mermaids, selkies or whatever else all of the sculptures will interact with the people by the beach. Helios himself will just be standing under the shade of a tree with a drink in hand as he watches the festivities progress. He'll also be walking around getting to know and talk to any newcomers that are present. ]

[So you might be in the middle of eating something. Or maybe you're just enjoying the nice weather. Whatever you're doing, you might suddenly feel a spray of cold water on the back of your head or up one of your ears. Heh, water pistols are fun.

When he's not having fun squirting people with water, Caius can be found getting something to eat or digging through the drinks cooler. Should anyone near him look particularly hot or worn out then he'll try offering them whatever drink he pulls out of the cooler first.]

[Grune, as always, is just delighted to be not only at a party where she can make new friends, but at a party on the beach! She just loves the beach! (And, well, everywhere else, for that matter.)

In addition to her bikini, she's wearing a seashell necklace that she seems to be very fond of.

...She's also highly curious about these water balloons and can occasionally be found peering at them.

Catch her anywhere on the beach, anywhere at all! There is a 100% chance she'll be in a good mood, so feel very free to interrupt whatever she's doing.]

[The rave on the beach was fun, and while she isn't a New Feather she's actually excited to be on a beach to swim and enjoy the ocean during the day. Of course she's asked Robert and Booker to come along, just so she has an excuse to be there.]

[And she is, of course fashionably attired for some seabathing. Wide-brimmed hat and parasol included.]

[She does want to go out into the ocean, but in the meantime she's simply taking in the view and breathing the sea air.]

[In contrast, Gai is wearing a t-shirt and a pair of red swim trunks as he lounges on the sand, not minding the heat of the sun at all. When you've spent a good portion of your childhood in Africa, the sun here is downright balmy, even in the heat of the summer.

He also brought along a small cooler with a few sodas in it just in case; he reaches in to grab two, one for himself and another which he offers to Elizabeth.]

Let me guess: you sunburn easily?

[Elizabeth gives him a look and settles back down onto the sand, taking the offered soda.] I might. Or maybe I'm trying to look like all of the fashion magazines. Worldly and elegant... [She grins and opens the bottle.]

[Tenenbaum is looking out at the sea while walking, always a good combination and just avoids running into the girl.]

Ah, I am sorry.

[Unlike most people she is not dressed up, wearing tattered clothing. Yup she's a new one.]

[Elizabeth herself is looking out at the ocean as well, and doesn't realize she's about to be hit until the other woman stops in time.]

Oh, no, I wasn't paying attention either.

[She eyes the woman's clothing with a little frown.] Are you alright?

[Eleanor had been told about this 'new arrivals gathering' but she hadn't decided if she was actually going to show up until almost the last minute. So many people in one place...she had barely managed to adjust to the fact that a crowd of people in town wasn't dangerous. And she was spending most of her time by herself, regardless.]

[But she knew she couldn't hide forever. People had been here for years and she had to face the fact that it was possible she would remain as well. And all things considered, it wasn't so bad here. Far better than Rapture, despite her family not being here.]

[But 'beach party' hadn't really sunk in until she'd actually arrived, and seen the ocean. From the surface, stretching out...she was honestly captivated, and could be found sitting at the edge of the water, in a simple black skirt and white blouse, her feet getting splashed on by the waves as she just stared out. Later on she would wander around, perhaps force herself to meet people, but for now...]

[Huh. Well, here's a new face. Fitting for a New Feather party, of course. Dash was just about to cart a surfboard out and check out the waves, but she stops for a minute to hover by the shoreline.]

You know, usually people at parties actually... you know, party. How come you're all the way over here?

I've never seen the surface of the ocean before, not from this...side of...

[She starts to answer before she actually turns to look at who is speaking, and when she does she trails off, her eyes wide.]

Y-you're...

[Dr. Tenenbaum isn't really sure why she's shown up, besides general curiosity.

She's dressed in her normal threadbare clothing and is either watching the ocean or watching the people around her. She seems lost in thought, especially when staring out at the water.]

[Heart is here! She's in a cute blue bikini too! Albeit, she has a sarong around her waist and isn't really doing much of anything, because she doesn't have a registration with anyone here... yet. So the woman is just sitting or standing around, looking a little wallflowery probably because of the not talking to people thing. But she would love to be talked to]
