What: a battle dome date
When: july 9th
Where: the battle dome
Summary: one part training exercise, two parts tourism
Rating: r -- for violence. and then who knows what. better to be safe than sorry idek?
Buffy Summers asked Jack Sparrow to meet her at the battle dome. It was a plan that had been discussed before the pirate had disappeared and now that he was back? Well -- she cared very little for dawdling. They had dawdled before but now was the time for seizing. She had yet to overcome the horror of waking up alone for yet another morning when she had expected to be the furthest thing from it.
People change. And Buffy mused quietly upon the changes to be found in Jack as she waited just outside the dome's entrance. She had a bag-o-weapons at her feet and a plastic bottle filled with some sort of over-sugared juice in her hand.

"Being the bait doesn't suit you, hon. But the attempt is appreciated."
There was a low growl from the far left. Bingo. Perhaps Jack's yelling had, indeed, done the trick.

But the source of the growl had resolved itself from the shadows and a tall, leather jacket clad vampire strolled into the light. Bumps out and fangs bared. Buffy dropped into an easy stance and was, for a moment, glad that Jack couldn't see her eager smile.
The sim-vamp did not speak. He simply lunged straight for the fight. It was a short one; the difficulty was down low and Buffy's expertise had always been high. A hard thud from the butt of the scythe and then she had the creature pinned beneath her foot. A swift staking and two more were approaching from twelve-o-clock.

While the pirate spoke lightly, he was actually impressed by her style. This was the Slayer. She was cool, efficient, deadly. Oooor undeadly. Whatever. A smile of pride spread over his face as she turned toward the two newcomers.

Buffy twisted and tripped up one vamp as she staked the other. Dust -- fine and bright in the car light. She wrestled momentarily with the first vampire before noticing another member of the pack approaching from the rear of the car.
Jack. With only a little more urgency, she shoved her opponent aside in favour of slipping one of those pocketed stakes into her hand. She threw it with devilish aim and it buried itself deep in the approaching vampire. No wonder she was so good at darts.

He raised one lazy arm and swooshed it through the air dramatically.
"And she has saved me. I'm a lucky pirate to have her, really."
no subject
And mid-sentence, she decapitated the last vampire -- the one she had rebuffed but hadn't dusted -- with the business end of her scythe. The dust settled on her shoulders and she brushed it off. Listened. It was rare to come across a roaming gang larger than that, anyway.
no subject
"That is a very sad thought indeed, you bein' hit by one of these machines. Horrid, really. What, no more?"
no subject
"They're not the most social creatures. Vamp-gangs aren't as common as you'd think. Besides? There'd always be more in the graveyards. Which is why we're going to avoid them."
no subject
"And you've barely broken a sweat!"

Things to hit and smash and cut also helped in Dawn's absence. She reached up to touch his wrist and felt a creeping self-consciousness. "But I promise the time gets even gooder."

Just drag him off, Buffy. Arguing is useless.

She began to walk.

Fine, fine. They could go visit the car again later. Or possibly a different car. Somewhere with fewer buildings to run into.

The street-lamps bathed everything in a yellowish glow as the town centre gave way to more residential housing.

...Do you have any maps at your house, Buffy?" Because now he very much wanted to see how far the edges of the map had been pushed.
