Where: Out on the beach, centered around the teleporter/tunnel exit area. But it feels like July out there! Ain't that just the shit?

Long Ago In A Distant Land, Akai, the fully functional fonbot, unleashed a fairly standard mod post. But a foolish player kept asking questions and come on, do you really need to know that much? Now everyone wants to play out their ships and get into fruit shenanigans and undo to evil that is AKAI.

OH YEAH! So like, assume there is stands (or you know, beach-appropriate huts) here and there that are stocked up on bathing suits (and curtains you can change behind), stands with beverages, and snacks. Nobody's really operating them, new stuff just gets Shifted there (BUT ONLY IF YOU'RE NOT WATCHING). The Malnosso are the most considerate bro-ginization ever.

[Edward's been somewhat reluctant to leave the house now that his mother is back again, but he's kind of hoping that a) Ran Fan will join him for a little romantic (....ish) escape from the rest of the village, and that b) Hohenheim will be a reasonable husband for once and take his wife to relax or something. And apparently there's some kind of weird shindig going on at the beach anyway, so what better place to go is there?

Though he's not sure that would normally be enough justification for him to go... still, it's enough for now.

Thus, Edward can be found wandering around the beach, poking at the fruit, and generally just enjoying the weather. Bother him! And share something tasty in the process.]

[She has no fruit, but she is feeling friendly enough that when random person number whatever goes wandering by, she will pad her way over and lean against Ed's leg, purring quietly.

She's careful not to trip him, though; she learned not to do this from the front when she was a kitten.

[Well, it would suck to almost-trip an automail user, since a bump from a metal leg would hurt. Thankfully Edward manages to notice at the last minute that she's there, staggering out of the way with a yelp and nearly tripping himself in the process. What the hell?]

Geez, cat, watch out or you'll get hurt!

[Not that he expects her to listen. Al's cats never do.]

[Danger, Will Robinson! Foot will crouch down into the sand, maybe fluffing a little when Ed reacts to her presence. Once he's got both feet back on the ground though, she'll stand, making a gentle 'perk' sound at him.]

My apologies. I was simply trying to greet you.

[...Whoa, what? She's awfully coherent for a cat. Al's cats only ever whined for food and told him to go away. Weird...]

Did you- ...was that... actually you?

[He glances around. Just in case someone's trying to play him. You never know, right? Animals can be kind of dumb, speaking or otherwise.]

[Her wings flap up and out briefly to show Ed that she, too, is one of the residents of Luceti.]

You are very quick for carrying so much metal.

[Oh wow, she has wings. Okay, so... she's from a world where talking cats are normal, maybe? Who knows. With her comment on the automail, though, he taps a foot absently against the sand, a little self-conscious despite the fact that it's only a cat. He's not used to having them out in the open like this- there's a reason he doesn't often go to the beach.]

Yeah, well, I learned how to move with them.

It must take a lot of skill, especially in regards to balance. Very impressive.

[And then, as if it suddenly occurred to her that she had sand in her fur, Foot will settle to her haunches to clean the grains off.

...It's pretty slow going, what with having to shake her head every few licks to get the stuff off her tongue and out of her mouth. Yeck. This is where a cat's barbed tongue is decidedly a disadvantage.]

Uh... thanks. [Edward blinks, scratching the back of his head, and watches her clean. Is... that it? He's never talked to a cat before, not really. Why does she keep shaking her head like that?] ...Something wrong?

[Foot will look up, still smacking her lips and making less-than pleased expressions, as if she were trying to spit something out.]

The sand gets stuck in my tongue.

...You should probably stop doing that, then. [Comical as it is. What is it with cats and constantly sleeping or licking themselves?]

[Clearly Ed was there to see Ran Fan, because that's why she came. She really wanted to see Edward, and Ling was doing amazingly well, so she didn't feel bad leaving his side.

Sadly, this whole beach thing was new to her, because she still wears her normal clothes. But no mask! So that's good. Maybe if someone could just tell her what proper beach attire was, cause right now, she's failing.

It takes her awhile, but she finally spots Ed and quickly made her way over to him.]

[Hell yes he is. He turns to face her at once, smiling broadly; he's been waiting for her ever since he arrived. And look at her, she's amazing! Without a mask or anything! He's so pleased, and it shows in his expression.]

Hey- you look really good.

[On the other hand, she is so not dressed for this, so they make an odd pair, what with him already wearing swimming trunks, sandals, and tank top. He's gotta get her properly dressed.]

[He does!

And she's very happy to see him. But that outfit is making her blush some. She shouldn't be this attracted to him, but it wasn't her fault that he was so handsome.]

Th-thank you. [There is no mask to hide how much she's blushing now.] You look great.

[Hey, at least he's not shirtless. (Yet.) He gives his cheek a slightly awkward scratch, then gestures towards one of the change areas.]

You know what would be even better? Swimming. It's warm enough, and we can wade around close to the shore even if we can't really swim.

[Though she might be better off than him - one automail limb is less heavy than two - it might still be difficult.]

[Then she might die because all the blood will be in her face.]

I don't think I can go swimming in this though.

Of course not! There's swimsuits for that. [He points to his trunks.] They have these for girls, too. Don't you ever go swimming in Xing?

Well, we did it for training. [That's so normal.] And I had to wear my uniform for that, but this isn't a training session.

[automailed]

Yeah, that won't do either. Follow me, I'll show you. [He gestures for her to follow, starting towards the stalls. This'll be awesome, he can already tell.]

Alright. [She does, feeling like a fool. These feelings are just so WEIRD! But it's Ed, so they're nice at the same time.]

Do these beach things happen a lot?

No idea, I haven't been here that long. This is the first I've heard of one this big, though- and as far as I know, this beach hasn't even existed that long. It used to be a desert.

They just change the landscape like this? [That's confusing, and annoying. But she does have Ed here to help.] But I guess it isn't that bad.

That's just what I was told. I think everyone likes this better anyway, though, so yeah, it turned out for the best. I couldn't handle a desert anyway.

I rather not travel in a desert again. [She smiles cause it's kinda her telling a joke.]

Yeah, same here. [He grins.] This is way better! And they've got everything here that we could ever need. Including suits, apparently.
