Long Ago In A Distant Land, Akai, the fully functional fonbot, unleashed a fairly standard mod post. But a foolish player kept asking questions and come on, do you really need to know that much? Now everyone wants to play out their ships and get into fruit shenanigans and undo to evil that is AKAI.

OH YEAH! So like, assume there is stands (or you know, beach-appropriate huts) here and there that are stocked up on bathing suits (and curtains you can change behind), stands with beverages, and snacks. Nobody's really operating them, new stuff just gets Shifted there (BUT ONLY IF YOU'RE NOT WATCHING). The Malnosso are the most considerate bro-ginization ever.

[You know, when you're madly in love with yourself, your hatred of magical teleporters? Doesn't matter so much. So Arthur ended up following all this hubbub to the beach to see what was going on. He was hardly dressed appropriately for it, but come on, it was WINTER in the village!

But he's sort of wandering about, looking at all these funny trees and taking in the warm sea air. Yeah, yeah. This is kind of nice, isn't it?]

[Moro has been spending the whole bizarre week in a lovey-dovey haze with Ryoji. But that doesn't mean she can't get into some bizarre shenanigans with others.

She's sniffing at one of the trees curiously.]

"So," she tapped the young king on his shoulder -- Buffy had approached him from across the beach, eager to clear something or another up. Unlike him, she did seem to be dressed more appropriately for the weather. It paid to have a mysteriously unexplained cache of clothing at the nearby Cullen House. A summer dress and sandals are definitely in play.

"I hear you're looking to take the lovely little JJ out on a mission."

[Simba's main interest is actually the water. He's at the water's edge, seemingly considering whether or not to go swimming.

And, of course, he's humming to himself. This time around, it's a slightly more familiar tune.]

[If it wasn't obvious there was a Shift before, this is the final nail in the coffin.

After all the reports of statistical anomalies - that is, the beach being unseasonably warm - float up to this scientist, he immediately capitalizes on the opportunity to inform the fellow residents of his household. It seems a shame not to let them, the ectotherms, enjoy one blissful day of possible functionality...

... And, well, he's curious. Distinctly remembering last year's Venusian willow, he takes his nanocomputer and a low-power (it's not even electron-powered!) microscope down to the beach.

... Yep. Guys, there is a scientist (who may or may not be accompanied by large turtles) on the beach. Sitting there. Dissecting paopu fruit and studying it right there on the beach like this is a completely normal thing to do.

... of course, once he's determined it's safe to eat (give him a few hours to be sufficiently tempted by the aroma?), he might consume some. But until then...

[Katara heard through the journal grapevine that the beach was unseasonably warm. That is why she showed up with a picnic basket (full of lunch for her, and like, a snack for her boyfriend, lunch for any three normal human beings) and a swimsuit and - although gasping in delight at the trees, the water is still her main interest.

She quickly sheds her parka and other winter gear and hops on to the water. SURFING SHE HAS MISSED YOU SO MUCH.

But. Eventually. The smell of the fruit and the laughter of people will draw her out. And surfing is hungry work. Will she head to the picnic basket? Or will she dare for some fruit? ...either way, the fruit trees deserve further inspection. Interrupt at any time!

[Okay, so Kazooie has been really enjoying this week with Rainbow Dash. Really enjoying it.

But if there's one thing that draws her like a moth to a flame, it's a beach party. A beach party in the middle of winter is just a bonus!

So she's definitely here, willing and ready to play any games there might be. And those fruits? You bet she'll eat some. What's food for, if not to eat it?

[Ace is trying to get away from all those couples by going to the beach. Only to find all these weird trees there. He stares at them curiously, a bit cautious since well. They weren't there before.

[One good thing about falling asleep prematurely the night before is how you won't be in your pyjamas when you wake up. Sure, his clothes are a little rumpled from all that sleep, but it's not as eyecatching as, say, a nightgown.

Leo isn't quite a loud sleeper though the difference in the surrounding temperature might induce louder snores than normal. Is he distracting you? Well then— time to shove him away and tell him to buzz off. Or you might want to share some fruit.

He already had a fruit in hand and was poking it to get an idea of how juicy it was when he was interrupted. Stunned and pulled out of a fruit-based trance, he whirled around, dropping the fruit in the process. For a moment he didn't seem to understand what she was talking about. And then he confirmed it.

"A mission? The what?"

[As if possessed and in a trance, a lovestruck Isaac has been drawn to the beach without understanding why. Upon his arrival, he stops to gaze out towards the horizon for a long moment, pulling in the warm, salty air deep into his lungs and simply listening to the susurration of the waves - and for the first time in his life - and perhaps the last - he is truly at peace with himself.

It can't last.

He glances towards one of the trees, not particularly hungry but strongly compelled nonetheless to pluck off one of the fruits.]

Surfing?

[Derek will find himself at the edge of the beach at some point; he's in jeans and t-shirt (with a swimsuit underneath), and knows where to find a surfboard when he finally decides to go for it on his own.

Right now, though? He's enjoying watching other people surf, and will clap when someone (like Katara) does something particularly skillful.

And yes, he's ignoring those trees.

That poor fruit. She nudged it with a bare toe.

His plan had been to take a long nap, and chances are he still will (although he will make it to Cloud Nine that night, regardless). But between hearing about warm weather at the beach, knowing what part of the year it is, and...yeah, dammit, something is pushing him to go anyway, he will show up in the afternoon to take a look around.

He's in jeans and a t-shirt, although he does have swim trunks on underneath. He'll definitely check on the ship for a few minutes before making his way to the water side to watch the waves for a bit. He will also do his very best to stay away from those trees.

His very best.

Which means he's going to spend a lot of time staring out over the water, or swimming and surfing in it.

[ Despite spending plenty of time fussing over the ever beautiful Moro with whom he is inexplicably in deep, deep love with, Ryoji is still Ryoji. And this means that he is so excited to be here! This beach is beautiful and it's so warm and sunny and like the pool party all over again only better.

Basically, he's just going to be running around enjoying everything (especially cute girls~ and the ocean, which is beautiful and he can't stop looking at it), and oh, aren't those trees lovely? That fruit looks pretty tasty, too... ]

Or so Buffy still hoped. Things had gone...strangely with Sparrow, the last time they had chatted. He tried to tell her they were in love. He revealed an odd tattoo on her shoulder (which she now kept unseasonably covered up with a light cardigan) and tried to tell her that he'd once asked her to be his wife. And all she wanted was to date Elizabeth Swann, dammit.

"You make it look...so easy."

[You know, two years in Luceti should mean a lot more to someone who's experienced the trial and tribulations of the ever-awful Valentines Day experiment, but this year seemed so normal. It was weird. Miyabi didn't feel any different at all, so maybe she'd be safe from the weird fruits, too? She was hanging with Chopper a lot more, but that's nothing odd, right? She missed the little reindeer!

Plus, with the compelling nature of the fruits, and her own accursed curiosity, Miyabi's sitting under the shade of one tree with fruit in hand. She's already taken a few bites, smacking her lips slightly. Whew, it was really sweet... But maybe it'd go great with some tea or something.]

Derek will glance up and smile at Buffy. He's been worried that she's one of the ones affected, but he also knows that if she is, there's not much to be done about it. At least not until after it's over.

"Yeah, well. Get smacked in the head by the board enough times, you learn not to fall off." The following grin is easy going and he'll pat the sand next to him.

She arranged the skirt of her sun-dress and settled on the beach next to Derek.

"Not so bad. Kinda okay, actually. And yours?"
