Long Ago In A Distant Land, Akai, the fully functional fonbot, unleashed a fairly standard mod post. But a foolish player kept asking questions and come on, do you really need to know that much? Now everyone wants to play out their ships and get into fruit shenanigans and undo to evil that is AKAI.

OH YEAH! So like, assume there is stands (or you know, beach-appropriate huts) here and there that are stocked up on bathing suits (and curtains you can change behind), stands with beverages, and snacks. Nobody's really operating them, new stuff just gets Shifted there (BUT ONLY IF YOU'RE NOT WATCHING). The Malnosso are the most considerate bro-ginization ever.

[He gulps, looking sheepish.]

Do you know when it's supposed to end?

[He just shakes his head, suddenly looking more tired than a moment before.]

Shifts like this--they usually last a week or two. So...hopefully we're getting close to the end. [He absently starts peeling the fruit.]

You're really going to eat that. [The suspicious fruit that the Malnosso put out during the week where they force people to fall in love.]

[dragoneer]

[...What. Don't give him that look. It looks really good, okay? And he knows it's suspicious, but...he just wants to try it. A little piece. What harm could that do?]

I might just...try a piece. They've already done all their brainwashing for this week, anyway.

Well...not...for sure. Just--that's typically how things go. If you aren't affected in the first few days, they don't get you later on, or anything. I guess they want you experimented on for the duration or not at all.

[He holds the fruit out to her.] It is good, though. If you want to try it.

[SUSPICIOUS. SO VERY SUSPICIOUS, BUT... Hiccup isn't acting weird.

... Well. Weirder. So, she'll hesitantly take a bit of the fruit and give it a try.]

[And that doesn't seem strange. At all. Because they're friends. And they'd made it through a rough week unscathed. Certainly that was something to smile about.]

...You can come sit down, you know. Toothless won't mind. That is if...you want to, um. Get to know him again.

[He'll understand if that's still not something she's willing to do.]

Though she isn't entirely sure how to answer that question. Even with everything Hiccup told her, she's still feeling apprehensive about the whole dragon issue. But at the same time, she does trust Hiccup, so... ]

[And she'll just take a seat.]

[Toothless watches her closely as she takes a seat. You guys are acting weeeeeeeird. He isn't really sure what's going on here, but Astrid seems to be being nicer and she isn't threatening them, so...]

Astrid, meet Toothless. Um...again. More formally this time.

Nice to meet you. [Wow, okay, it feels weird talking to a dragon.]

[Toothless rumbles low and deep, watching her closely. She isn't going to pull a fast one on them, is she? But she does seem pretty sincere, so he lowers his head to her level.]

Y-you can touch him, if you want to. He really likes to be scratched--just under his jaw, there.

[Astrid says nothing, and reaches out to gently scratch under Toothless' jaw. The sensation is... weird. And while a part of her is still definitely on edge, it's not all bad.]

[dragoneer]

[Toothless breathes out slowly--she may be being agreeable, but the last thing they need is for him to spook her. He knows that. So he'll just hum slightly and keep eye contact with her. See? He's not so bad, is he?]

I know it must be...weird. But dragons, they're...they're really not bad. Toothless is my best friend.

Maybe, but you were always weird. [This isn't said with any bitterness. Really, her tone sounds more teasing than anything else.

The hesitance is gradually melting away, and Astrid is even smiling again. She gives Toothless another scratching for good measure.]

[dragoneer]

[She's smiling! Smiling! Hiccup can't help a goofy grin at that. She's actually having a good time in his company. And that doesn't seem strange at all, somehow. Maybe things were really changing.]

Heh. I know. Still am. Especially considering some of the stuff I've picked up here. Like--cooking. And the SOS Brigade--it's this group of people who's duty it is to help other people have a good time. No, really.
