EVERYBODY! EVERYBODY!

Who: Everybody! Everybody!
What: It's a beach! There's fruit! Love in the air! Classy private rooms in the mountains!
When: From sunrise to midnight! (AND IT'S TODAY! FEBRUARY 18th!)
Where: Out on the beach, centered around the teleporter/tunnel exit area. But it feels like July out there! Ain't that just the shit?
Summary: Summary? Why does this need a summary. I said everything up there. And then I'm gonna say even more after this. Why do we need this field? Seriously, anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Rating: KEEP IT CLEAN, KIDS. Take your dirty smut to an appointments post!

Long Ago In A Distant Land, Akai, the fully functional fonbot, unleashed a fairly standard mod post. But a foolish player kept asking questions and come on, do you really need to know that much? Now everyone wants to play out their ships and get into fruit shenanigans and undo to evil that is AKAI.

((No, but seriously guys, look at the mod post, you know what to do. Everything you need is there. Mass log post, remember to tag your characters name here, and do your thing.))

OH YEAH! So like, assume there is stands (or you know, beach-appropriate huts) here and there that are stocked up on bathing suits (and curtains you can change behind), stands with beverages, and snacks. Nobody's really operating them, new stuff just gets Shifted there (BUT ONLY IF YOU'RE NOT WATCHING). The Malnosso are the most considerate bro-ginization ever.

When we were young? I found him charming. This was before I learned he was an idiot. [She huffs a soft, bitter laugh and leans back against he tree trunk.]

Well, on the bright side of things, I'm sure you're better at spotting idiots now because of him. ...You shouldn't give up on marriage entirely.

[Which is awfully hypocritical of him to say, because goodness knows his experience with Lena deterred him from looking.]
fleurdesel: right, tired, sad (And here's me. Again.)

I would not want to marry anyone here Rett. This is not somewhere you should put down roots. People come and they leave, and when they are gone? They forget everything about this place. This, essentially, never happened. Why would you want to do that to anyone? Permanence, here, is impossible. And should I return home. Well. [Her voice becomes low, resigned, and rough.] I will not have to worry about marriage.

I was speaking more generally. Though just because something won't be remembered doesn't mean it can't be meaningful. If you can manage to make yourself and other people happy, if only for a little while, that should be enough.

[It's a rather philosophical statement for him, but something he's been thinking about. He'd realized very early that it was much easier to think of Luceti as a chance to do some good somewhere else--to go about his practice with the same determination he had back home. There was no use in wasting his time waiting to be pulled back to his world. He might as well do his best to live his life and change a few others, though he's no Archie--he'll never quite be able to suppress his worries and regrets.

Her last statement jars something in him. He gazes at her, his expression melting instinctively from concern to grave, unreadable detachment. He knows that tone. He's heard it at the bedsides of dying patients, heard it in operating rooms over the rustle of paper from a flatlining ECG. He knows it all too well, and proceeds with caution.]

Why not?

fleurdesel: left, sad, serious, angry (and if I don't want to talk about it?)

I've been married once. It did not make me happy before, I do not think, even with the right man, it would make me happy again. It is a set of standards never met, of promises broken, in my mind. I would rather not taint future relationships with the shades of my previous experiences.

[Why not indeed. She looks over to Will, lifts a shoulder, and turns back out to the ocean. She did not know him well enough to tell, though he has a fairly good idea of the reason if his expression is anything to go by. It's not his to know. Lupin knows, because he needed to. Ben knows because she trusts him. Tony knows because she loves him. Willock? He did not need to know.]

Because I have no mind for it.

[She's grievously injured back home, he thinks. Or ill. Possibly on her deathbed, because that dodge of the subject is far too obvious for a woman that is normally otherwise direct. Part of him wants to press the subject, feels faintly wounded by what she's hiding, but there's plenty she doesn't know about him and it wouldn't be fair. She's entitled to some measure of privacy.

What a terrible thing to be aware of, though. He at least was pulled from an ordinary day, with the great likelihood that he'll have years ahead of him after he gets back. He wants to say something, to offer her some kind of pity, but he doesn't know what. He never was good at talking through this sort of thing.

It's at that moment that his pent-up hormones offer a thoroughly tempting suggestion, and without thinking much about it he scoots over and embraces her. Better than another awkward 'sorry,' at least.]
fleurdesel: center, sad, serious (This isn't how it should be)

[Adele has no patience or desire for pity. This was what she'd chosen, it hasn't been healthy, it hadn't been wise, but it had been her choice. Here? She will live with it. And when she returns she will die with it. Those were the facts, and there was nothing pitiable about them, or her. What was, was. And that's when she knows she's spending just enough time around Ben. She manages a half smile, hoping, at least, that she'll remember the Jedi upon her return.

As she wasn't looking at him, his expressions, his movement to hold her, and the sudden embrace come as a surprise. She blinks, turns her head to look over at him, and relaxes. If this helps him feel better about what she was going to go back to, she'd let him. Even if it was somewhat awkward. She raeches up to pat his back, just between the wings.]

It is not so terrible Will.
