Long Ago In A Distant Land, Akai, the fully functional fonbot, unleashed a fairly standard mod post. But a foolish player kept asking questions and come on, do you really need to know that much? Now everyone wants to play out their ships and get into fruit shenanigans and undo to evil that is AKAI.

OH YEAH! So like, assume there is stands (or you know, beach-appropriate huts) here and there that are stocked up on bathing suits (and curtains you can change behind), stands with beverages, and snacks. Nobody's really operating them, new stuff just gets Shifted there (BUT ONLY IF YOU'RE NOT WATCHING). The Malnosso are the most considerate bro-ginization ever.

But I've met people who I don't think should be dating... and they believe it's always been that way. And others do, too! If we're all like that... Sokka and I would seem so normal together.

[She toys with her necklace. Despite all her concerns, she hasn't been able to take it off.]

Hm. [That does present a bit of a problem.] So you think the Malnosso tampered with our memories.

[Vivi bites her lower lip absently, mulling that over. It doesn't seem possible, except she knows that it is. Luceti Valley had been proof of that.] But...you met him back home, right? Do you think they've altered even those memories?

Oh, that's... that's true. But back home, we weren't that close. We'd never even gone out or anything. [She'd confessed her feelings, yes, and they'd kissed, but- it had never gone far. All of the closeness they shared now had happened here.

Which meant that it could really go either way. Had they remained together? Or... gone their separate ways? Sokka's been here so much longer than she...]

And I suppose you can't even trust what your heart tells you. [Vivi sighs.] How awful.

Well... it's not so bad, really. I mean- they never last that long! Pretty soon everyone will be back to normal, and then we'll know if it's real or not. I can wait a few more days.

[But yes, it does suck right now, especially with so many couples showing their love and getting cozy on a romantic beach.]

Yes, that's right. I suppose it won't be much longer till you know for sure... [Vivi gives her an appraising look, and smiles softly.]

Well, if you'd like a distraction from that, we could spend some time together? If you'd like.

I'd like that, actually- if you don't mind. I was thinking of going swimming or getting something to eat, actually. [Hasn't quite decided which one yet.]

Of course I don't mind! The water is just about perfect right now. Though if you'd rather have something to eat first, I could do with a snack myself.

[kyoshi]

Well, I've heard you're not supposed to swim right after eating! Normally I'd say wait, but that fruit everyone seems to be eating looks pretty tempting.

[Vivi nods.] I think that's just an old wives' tale, but even if it isn't, a little fruit is light enough that it shouldn't make a difference. I've never seen fruit like that before, either.

[WHICH MAKES IT ALL THE MORE INTRIGUING.]

I think it's worth the risk. [Because it does look delicious. She heads over to one of the trees, tugging down a fruit and breaking it in half to offer part of it out to Vivi.] Here you go.

[She takes a moment to study the unusual fruit, but before long the enticing aroma is too much to resist, and she takes a careful bite. Followed quickly by another, larger one. Huh. There's just something about this fruit...]

[Ooh, is it ever tasty. And immediately after biting into it, Suki feels much better about the day, her relationships with people in general, and yes, even her chosen company. Or perhaps especially that last one. She may not know Vivi very well, but she clearly has good taste in friends.]

You know, I bet today's going to turn out just fine after all.

I'm glad to hear that!

[Vivi gives Suki a friendly little hug as if it were the most natural thing in the world, even though they've only just met in person.]

[Oh, hugs! Hugs are okay. Hugs are wonderful. And Suki returns it as naturally as humanly possible, like a hug was exactly what she expected from Vivi just then. After all, what are friends for?]

Come on, let's go swimming! I bet the water's even better than the shore.

[Vivi unties the wrap she's wearing at her hips and lets it fall to the sand. INSTANTLY READY!]
