[After her own shift at Seventh Heaven is done, Melanie heads to Good Spirits instead of going straight home. She may not be much of a drinker - she was never fond of the idea of not being completely aware of herself or her surroundings - but one drink never hurt, and it was always good to relax a little bit.

Though once she's in, she does notice Adele with those cards. Huh.]

Didn't know you played cards.

If it'll win a wager, or can be used to turn a profit? I know the game Mellie.

[She offers the girl a smile and fans the cards with a flourish.] Tricks too; they're fantastic ice breakers.

I'll admit, not my best attempt. I'm still working on it dear; you can't rush these things.

I think it might be better if you just stick with 'Melanie'. [Less embarrassing nicknames are always a good thing, after all.]

Aw, but that's not as much fun. I like you, so you get some sort of endearment or nickname. It's a rule. Somewhere. One of the handful I have, really.

[She smiles and nods at the chair across from her.]

[Melanie grins and takes a seat.]

Normally I'd think that's a good thing, but if it means a nickname like that one? Suddenly I'm not so sure.

That's why I said these things take time. Unlike Stark, I take pride in giving accurate, flattering, and endearing nicknames.

[Another flourish with the cards, worthy of Gambit. A few float out from the deck in her hands and start setting up a game of solitaire.]

I'd call you Goldie, but that's what Red calls me.

[Floating cards. Impressive.]

And we can't have two Goldies running around - people might start to get confused.

[Adele shrugs and finishes shuffling, laying out the rest of the game with a wave of her hand; the cards going where they needed to be with but a thought.]

I will think of something. Until then I suppose you'll just have to be Melanie. However shall you cope with such a lovely name?

I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it.

Such a burden. I do not envy you in the slightest. [She can't help a soft laugh.]

It is. I might have to consider changing it to something else.

Something longer, or shorter? Sweeter, or more exotic?

Something more exotic. Like Gladys, maybe. [lolololololol.]

You never heard of the story until you came here? [That's an amusing surprise. Melanie's from ~*~futuretiems~*~ and even she grew up with those stories.]

Have you not seen the films? I'm from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. We don't have that story there.

Apparently I haven't. [Seen whatever film series Adele is referring to, that is.]

I guess we've both been missing out.

Someone in Red's building has them; if you wish to see them. And I've overheard bits of the story, though I must ask. What is 'porridge'?
