[Huffing a soft chuckle Sabriel nods and heads over to the changing room with Adele's nudge, taking a the chance to get a better look at the dress. It wasn't too bad now that she looked at it...the knit was tight enough to be opaque and it felt rather comfortable and soft.

...

A minute or two later Sabriel emerges in the dress and stockings, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear as she looks down at herself, then up at Adele.]

What do you think?

I think...you are adorable. [Adele huffs a laugh and hands over a pair of knee high boots and a wide brown belt.]

Try these on little Bell, and I'll find something we can put in your hair, mm? Something blue.

[Nodding, Sabriel can't help but chuckle along with Adele as she pulls on the boots and adjusts the belt around her waist with a few pointers. It almost felt like the trips she and her friends used to take into Bain to shop and just enjoy being young women...and it feels like it's been forever since she's let herself be just another eighteen year old girl.]

What about for you? Anything catch your eye yet?

[It takes Adele a moment to return with a simple hair clip made of blue ribbon. A tightly wound rosebud. After a moment's consideration she pulls Sabriel's hair half back and tucks it behind one ear, sliding the clip in place.]

There we are. Lovely. You are just adorable Sabby.

[A boop of her nose, a smile, and she looks over to the racks, pulling out one simple dress she'd seen earlier. She holds it against her form with a half smile. Terribly simple, and not terribly revealing, but the subtly pink color was lovely and the fabric was soft.]

This could be lovely...Maybe. What do you think?

[Adele, stop making Sabriel blush because she hasn't had her nose booped since she was five. Thankful for the shift in focus Sabriel smiles as she looks over the dress. The exposed shoulders would certainly look elegant on Adele and the rest of the dress was very light and a touch romantic.]

Very pretty, you'd look lovely in it!

And since we'll be in the house I think I'll just stay barefoot.

[Adele gives the dress one more look before walking into the dressing room to try it on; a hand reaching out to snag a hair ornament on the way in. A tiny, trivial thing. Just a comb, but the colors complimented the dress and. Well. She's always enjoyed birds. It takes her a moment to change out and shake her hair loose, but she does step out for Sabriel's inspection.]

Fits like a dream, I think my normal self would have to approve as well.

I don't see how she could say otherwise, it looks perfect on you Adele.

[And the accent of the bird comb was all the more striking against the soft colours of Adele's hair and dress.]

I think she's a bit smaller in the bust- but how that works I'll never know.

[A shake of her head and peek down at her own modest, but not at all flat, chest. Different diets, different lives, she guesses.]

Still, she could stand to have more color and variety in her wardrobe.

...I couldn't say. [She's going to try not to stare at your chest Adele. >_>]

Should we pick out something else too?

Blouses, skirts, slacks, dresses. Casual and comfortable clothing. The woman does not need to live her life in a self induced uniform of black and white.

I'll try and help, hopefully my taste won't be too old fashioned.

[Because she knows her world seems to be relatively dated compared to a lot that are represented here.]

She's a classy lady, Sabby, I don't think a little old fashioned would hurt. [Nothing too revealing, but nothing too matronly either. 37 doesn't mean she's dead, after all.]

In that case... [First things first, see if there's anything in the store that might cater more to her tastes than some of this other short and skimpy clothing...Humming under her breath she pauses when she comes across this little number, pulling it out for Adele to take a look.] What about this one for you then?

[fleurdesel]

Oh that is just lovely! Good eye little bell. [Adele grins and holds the dress up against herself, nodding at the fabric. A good color, a good texture, and it looks to be more than comfortable enough.]

I'll get this for me, if you get this one for you. [She lifts up another hanger, something simple, lengthy, and sweet for Sabriel. Longer than the other dress by far.]

It will be nice in the summer. [Likewise Sabriel holds the white dress against herself to look at in the mirror, tipping her head thoughtfully. It almost feels a little vulnerable, being so light and feminine but Luceti wasn't quite like the Old Kingdom, she could allow herself to be vulnerable every now and then...right?]

Okay, deal!

There are...what are they called? Slips? Little under dresses you wear to preserve your modesty when you're wearing something like that. Just down at the end of the aisle.

[After a moment she reaches out to pull a soft blue scarf from another rack and holds it against Sabriel's newest dress.] And this would be a lovely alternative to the belt, don't you think?

Ah, I'll pick some up on the way out. [With a grin she add the sash to the hanger with the white dress, turning back to the racks to pull out some blouses she had seen earlier, holding out the first to Adele.]

This would go well with your hair clip, and I'm a little fond of this one myself.

[She gives the pale blouse a little shake.]

I should probably grab one myself for this dress. [She nods to herself before accepting the first blouse offered, smiling.]

Hmm. With these? We'd need trousers or light skirts to keep it casual, but to dress to really impress? These. [Adele holds out a black pencil skirt, then a pair of wide legged pants.]

Those would look quite nice, they certainly make for a strong silhouette. [Holding the skirt and the pant she tips her head after a moment.]

Does clothing generally get tighter in the future?

[fleurdesel]

It depends on the planet. Some use full bodysuits that cling to every curve; some prefer long elaborate robes. Culture dictates fashion.

That's true...Ancelstierre doesn't have a big mix of cultures just yet and the Old Kingdom...well, it hasn't changes for hundreds of years. [Fashion wise at least.]

[fleurdesel]

As time and tastes progress, so will fashion. [She shrugs.] Still, we have to balance function with fashion. At the end of the day, wear what you want, and what makes you feel good.

We wore uniforms at the College so we only wore what we really wanted on the trips to Bain or any parties the school happened to host.

[So many fond memories...and some not so fond but still she can't help but smile.]

Ellimere and Sulyn and I would stay up all night dancing if the professors didn't call us in.

[Adele can't help but think back to her own experience with dances, balls. Usually after a wedding, or for a grand gala. The one on Onderan stuck out, if only because she'd met Jeddack there.]

And what would you wear to dance, little bell? Dresses? Long lovely skirts with petticoats, or something you could move in?

Dresses, preferably with a little movement to them. Almost like... [Blinking she reaches into the rack and pulls out a dress- oh, it's shorter than she thought.]

...This but with a little more length and blank tassles at the bottom that would go to the knee.
