[Luke Skywalker has just returned from his double-header missions, arriving back in the village in the early afternoon of the 11th. When he first sees the absolute wreck that is House 46, Luke...can't help but initially wonder if Lupin had been playing with explosives again.
The minute he steps inside, however, he knows its something ENTIRELY different. A wave of Dark Side energy blasts him the minute he walks in, and his hands immediately have two lightsabers in them. There are traps, sure, but he'd easily evaded them. But something bad had happened here. The waves of dark energy leave the entire building just...unappealing to be in. They'll pass with time, but Luke just cannot stay in this building. Its too dreary, too filled with hate and pain. What...happened here...?
Later that day, Luke can be found around town, mostly sitting in public places and avoiding House 46 in general.]

She hopes, at least.
The fact that Luke should be home doesn't register until she sees him sitting in a booth- it's almost a relief. Almost. She doesn't know what he's been told- but there was no way he could miss what had happened in his own home. Adele carries her mug of tea over and slides into the booth across from him, offering a small, forced attempt at a smile.]
Hello.

[Luke looks up from his tea with a grimace. He'd left when they'd needed him, and she looked like shit]
no subject
You've seen the house, then.
no subject
[He shakes his head]
What happened?
no subject
Idiot.
...Helios was possessed by a god of chaos.
no subject
[His voice is low]
What happened to you. You look like you met a Gundark in a dark alley.
no subject
...I'm not entirely certain how to explain.
no subject
You don't have to. You haven't slept in days, have you?

For the better part of two days Lupin has been sleeping, and he was tired of being tired. He wanted to be at 46 to protect the fort to keep an eye on Artoo and try to rebuild, but he knew that it just wasn't possible at this point. Between the last Shift and the chaos with Apep, he was just too drained. He needed to relax, had needed it for the better part of a week, and staying with Law and Itachi for a few days was calming enough.
Between treating his injuries on such short notice, helping him set traps around 46, and taking him under their roof, Lupin was going to find a way to repay the two men. He didn't think he was ever going to be able to.
After a night and a day of not daring to leave the lower levels of House 22, occupying his time with naps and playing with the two cats, Lupin finally felt okay enough to venture into the backyard for a little while. The sounds of nature were a comfort after the disorienting silence. It gave him a chance to relax--his mussed hair and frighteningly casual attire were evidence enough that he had seized it. His right arm was slinged and immobilized for the moment, and his unsteadiness was apparent in his every move. He just didn't care anymore.
Lupin barely looked up when Luke approached, preferring to keep studying the birds that played in the garden.]
'Bout time you came back. [His tone was distant, and dripped with his suppressed annoyance. A long beat passed before he spoke again, this time quieter.] I knew that you'd be able to find me. That's why I didn't leave a note.

So, start explaining.
no subject
Are you done running?
no subject
[Huh?]
no subject
You had your reasons, but you basically have been doing what Adele did back in June, and what you accused me of doing last month.
I ask again, are you done running?
no subject
[His voice now, is actually pretty harsh]
It was better for me not to be here.
no subject
...was it really better? [He doesn't hide his weariness and fatigue any longer, there was no point. He had Luke's word that he would stay in the enclosure.] You missed a battle, Luke. We could have used you--the Force could have saved us a lot of frustration and pain.
no subject
[It does, after all, have a Dark Side]

Hello, Sabriel.

Luke...hello.

I hope...you aren't in too much pain. I'm sorry to see you like this.

[Slowly her tension fades under Luke's touch. For a moment she glances up at him, lips parted to speak but...she dips her head and says nothing. It takes her a minute before she can sort her thoughts and control her emotions before she speaks.]
Do you know what happened?
no subject
[He leads her to a secluded bench, his hand guiding her whether she likes it or not. There is no taint in her, at all. And that leaves him wondering...]
no subject
Mr. Dresden had warned me that Mr. Sprensonne was possessed. It had attacked him, and then later that day it attacked Red and Adele and the other tenant from your house. I tried to stop him but I couldn't...and when I failed, he changed me.
no subject
And...you...fell, for a time, didn't you?
