What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!
Where: All around the town square!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

[It would be a bigger deal if his father and sister wouldn't readily kill him. But he does hope to turn the Fire Nation around, so yes. It's still a pretty big deal, overall.

[ It's still damn awesome to someone who can only shoot fireballs. Kohan waits to see if anyone else was going to approach during the break, and when it seems like everyone else is dispersing, he heads over. ]

Uh, hey.

That was... pretty impressive. [ Smalltalk, Kohan is the master of it. ]

[ A bright, flaming phoenix, will soar past Makie with a silent cry as it swoops around the surrounding booths leaving a molten trail of ember and ash. Helios will be preoccupied in his own both making more stunning iridescent creatures as the magic for the earlier ones runs out.

He'll see Makie then, standing there and staring, before waving her over. ]

Makie! I didn't realize you were coming to the fair. How do you like it so far?

Well this was advertised as a formal date. But I could do for change-up too. How about this? We split up for a while, we each get changed and grab some food from our worlds plus a basket. Then we meet again in like half an hour by... how about by the fountain?

[ A proper greeting of affectionate pets and scritches I hope? Because both baby dragons require such payment before approaching the booth. But once the tithing has been paid Luminair and Maggir will simply lounge and chirp at people passing by, giving Helios and Derek the chance to talk. ]

Ah. A version not too dissimilar from most. It has magic and-and mythologies that live among people. Vampires, werewolves, dragons, those sorts of things.

[ Helios will look up from his own light reading when Twilight stops by. A wide smile will touch his lips as she pokes experimentally at the Martisor. ]

We call them Martisors in my home country of Romania. It's a tailsman that was given to people with the idea that they will e strong and healthy for the rest of the year. Sometimes people were given coins with the Martisor so as to buy wine and cheese with said coin. The belief was that their faces would remain beautiful and white as cheese, and rubicund as the red wine, for the entire year as well. But that was in earlier times, nowadays its just a symbol of friendship, love, appreciation and respect.

[She smiles as he bamfs away. Going off to change and find some Japanese Kyoshi Island food.

When she finally does show up, she's wearing what she HOPES is a nice outfit. Not that she had any idea, but she figured her Kyoshi Warrior uniform and her Kyoshi Island clothes just weren't nice enough.

Dating was difficult business.

But she heads over to the fountain, expecting to find Kurt waiting for her.]

[Aang peers on curiously as Derek looks over the foods.]

Anything you like? Don't be shy!

[Aang keeps talking with Momo a bit more near an opening.]

Come on, Momo. How about I go through and you follow me? It'll be safe!

[And Aang starts to moves through the gates, smoothly and fluidly. It's something he's done since he was young, and airbending is as natural to him as breathing itself, so he's moving quite well and gracefully, blissfully unaware of any nearby turtles just yet. While Momo just flaps up as Aang enters the gates and instead glides above them.]

"Well, it's an anchor, anyway. Maybe people will keep it up even if the same folks aren't around next time."

[All the scritches and probably some jerky too if he can sneak it in without owner disapproval.]

We just have the vampires where I'm from, that I know of, anyway. Rest of it is pretty boring.

So you do you do a lot of magic, or is it usually kept for certain things?

Honestly don't know; the dumplings look familiar, but that's about it.

[Fuuko takes her time looking at all the weird and wonderful animals that are out today. Appa and Naga particularly catch her eye, but it's hard for a giant dog and... Many legged fluffy thing not to, really.

Once she realises Prince Petunia is here though her attention soon shifts to staring at the little guy in the bottom of the bucket. She even kneels down and gets comfy next to the bucket to get a closer look, smiling the entire time. Such a cute little starfish!]

[Strolling through the fair, Saori couldn't help but smile when she saw Steve's setup. New York City. America's finest. And baseball? Well that was also wonderful. She'd never had much luck with it, but she liked watching it from time to time. The little sketch of Clint draws a flicker of a smile from her and she stops with a nod to Steve.

Such a lovely slice of Americana.]

[The bright colours and magic spells are what catch Fuuko's attention first, leading to her to start heading in the direction of the booth to see what's going on. Once she notices who happens to be manning the booth though she soon picks up her pace and hurries over.]

Hello Helios-san! Fuuko could not help but come over and see what you were doing when all Fuuko could see when Fuuko turned around were spells like this all over the place.

[Having fashioned herself a pretty fancy cotton wool beard, Pascal is swinging around one of the padded sticks. What are these even here for anyway? She's content with just twirling the stick around for a little while but eventually her curiosity gets the better of her.

Stick still in her hands, she bounds over to Loki and reaches out to tap him on the shoulder a few times with it.]

Hey, fancy chair guy! What's the deal with these things?

[He's there, relaxing in something like his normal clothes. Just with - thankfully - a belt for a hint of formality. He has a picnic basket in hand, and from the look on his face when he sees Suki approach, it's no mystery that he's awed by the outfit.]

Whoa! Suki... You're looking great!

[Just a chair and a banner, really? When Pascal passes by and notices Garrosh sitting there by himself it takes her a moment to realise what he's doing there. She ends up heading over while staring at the space in front of where Garrosh is sitting.]

Psst, Garrosh, it looks like someone nabbed the booth part of your booth.

[Seriously, you need that booth dude! How else is he going to tell people about the awesome zeppelins and other cool things if he doesn't have pictures of them set up or something.[

[She could feel her face heating up as she blushed from his compliment. Though she told herself to stop, but she couldn't. It was just embarrassing.]

Um. Thanks. [Looking away for a second.] You look great too.

[She reached out to take his hand.] Shall we?

[As interesting as the sparring is, Pascal eyes are locked on that zappy glove for the majority of the demonstration. It's like some sort of supercharged thunder puncher! Or something. Whatever it is she wants to know more about it.

When there's a break in the sparring, she rushes over to grab Asami's attention by waving her hands about in the air.]

That's some seriously cool equipment you've got there, I've never seen an electro-glove before!

[This was going a lot better than he thought. Sometimes he felt some creeping guilt - remembering Amanda - but Suki was so nice and things were going so well... it wasn't hard to remember the advice he'd gotten. She'd want him to have a good time, and he's having a good time with Suki.

He grins bashfully and runs a hand through his hair before taking hers.]

Yes, let's! M'lady.

[She felt the guilt too. Guilty for moving on. Guilty for using Kurt. But at the same time this felt nice. So even though there was a flash of sadness in her expression, a smile still remained.]
