What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

For ideas/reference on how it was handled last time, feel free to look through here! There's no official signup, so go forth!

The pirate spread his now-regular, unpossessed-sized wings and fluttered them slightly. A customer.

"Hullo, Miss....

And you are?"

Jack peered at her over the top of the glasses he wasn't wearing, keeping his tone brusque and efficient. He was trying to run a con, here, and Buffy was probably the worst mark ever.

"...Betty Louise Plotnick of East Cupcake, Illinois. And you, mysterious stranger?"

[So I decided to make a sub comment for it after all, sue me]

Oh. Oh dear. That-that seems like quite the problem. You're a-a vampire hunter back in your world then? [ Helios knew of them, but he never really associated too much with them. The hunters guilds and families were all very secretive and with good reason. ]

Neither, really. It's normally taught to all magical abled people. There's public and private schools in the magicking community that teach children it, no matter their family lineage.

[It's the rock candy which stands out to him immediately. He takes it in hand, thinking back to his ghosts of memories. Jenna...mite. Yeah, Jennamite. Is this actual Jennamite, or some imitation? He's not actually sure (largely because while he does remember it and its significance to the Prince of Omashu, he himself doesn't remember what it actually looks like), but he examines a piece in his hand, allowing himself to be sucked into memory lane.]

[Wow.

You know, he does consider himself an adept fighter, but his adeptness has never really had a style, and when he watches some carefully and meticulously trained styles like these going at it, he sometimes feels a little envy for the fact he never did that. And wonders, lightly, if he should have. Linda, the pikachu on his shoulder, is almost as taken in by it though she does frown at the glove. But no, he just hangs here, watching the whole affair, studying it.

By the end though, he's plastered a smile on his face and clapping. But through it all, it's just him watching them go at it]

Uwwwwaaaah~ Sensei! There's children here!

[He says this with a smile and a laugh at her different costume. Even if it isn't... well. Erotic. Not really. But it's evocative and different, so when he spots her mid-thumbing the map as he was, he has to comment]

There is a way that we could recreate it in the Battle Dome, or at least parts of it. Perhaps that's something else we can work on.

"...Honestly, Jackie." Less of a question this time around and more of a weary, exasperated and thoroughly amused statement. The same box, the same shells, the same grin. "Again?"

I don't know. They're kinda set up differently from us, so pain may be something different on them. Some of the scientists where I'm from say they don't actually feel pain at all, at least in the same way we understand pain. Wouldn't want to go chopping off starfish arms just to find out, though.

I think this guy's safe though. Looks like you're taking really good care of him.

[Between the familiar and comforting scent of gogosi, the chirruping and chittering of the dragons and her own knowledge that she'd been unjustly distant settled in the back of her mind, Adele is compelled for a multitude of reasons to wander through and around to Helios' booth. She hadn't spent enough time in the fair to give it a solid look the year before and this time, well, she can wander and wonder and marvel at everything that he'd lived around before coming here.]

[She can't look at him or the booth for a long moment, face instead buried in her hand. This is just. She can't. She simply cannot.]

It's a nice place. Has its faults, though.

[Even if Derek had a more solid take on Cap, he'd still ask like he had no clue. Hero on his own world or not, Derek has no reason to know about him, and there's only two people he'd ever let known there was media about them where he was from. Luke had been one of them. Tony the other.

...and both of them were pretty unique cases.

Well, they always say 'begin at the beginning', but I have a feeling we'd be here for a while if you did that. Which I don't mind, but we both have to go home sometime.

[She trails off, blinking at the sketch of a tower that was not from her world- but with the lettering of 'STARK' it wasn't exactly a mystery. What was, however, is what seems to have been added to the sketch.]

...but I do not think Stark tower has horns.

Ah that's the main reason to be honest. Back home it's almost a criminal offense to use magic in-in front of non-magical people. I-I wish it were different but the Magic Council is-is strict when it comes to their rules...

[ And Helios looks a touched unsettled to even mention them. They ruined his life for the most part and he rather not have much to do with them at all if he could help it. ]
