[The rec center today is colourfully decorated, with posters and directing signs here and there to make this whole process easier. The main floor is peppered with a bunch of tables and chairs pilfered from various locations (primarily the school) with two chairs facing each other per table. There's a couple of bigger tables off to the side, one for food (carrying drinks and various snacks, including Teddy and Ororo's homemade rainbow cookies), and the other with a few chairs and piles of paper everywhere. And a checklist. The checklist is important.

The desk is Billy's, and he's handing sheets of paper out to anyone who comes in and was signed up for the speed dating. Give your name, get a sheet and a name tag, go to the first desk or mingle until it starts- that's what people will be told when they arrive. Teddy's not far from the desk or the door depending on where he's needed, directing people to follow the signs, get comfortable, try some snacks- whatever they want.

Finally a lounge area has been set up with cushy chairs, couches, and the rec center's supply of games and whatnot in the corner. There is a sign for the area that says, "If you find yourself on a turn without a date, come hang out!" It's also got a picture of a weird-looking potato man hanging out, but never mind that.

When everything is ready and people are good to go, Teddy steps up and calls for attention, with Billy sitting on top of the table behind him for moral support (and unhelpful interruptions).]

Hey, guys – Hey! Can everyone hear me? Everyone? [...] Great!

I'm sure everyone knows why they're here. Or, you know, not, since a few of these sign-ups look a little suspicious... [He raises an eyebrow at that, but his smile remains good-natured, and his brow smooths over soon enough.] On behalf of Alliance, welcome to Luceti's very first -

- speed dating event! [Though Teddy glances at Billy for that interruption, he'd paused as if he expected it to come.] I'm Teddy, and this is Billy, and we're your hosts today. I'll try to be brief for those of you who just want to get this started already, but let's go over the rules and regulations first.

If you happened to get dragged into this without knowing what you're getting yourself into, it's basically exactly as it sounds. You might remember one of us handing you a list of numbers. Well, when Billy gives the signal, everyone will head to the table with the first number on their list, which will pair you off with someone in the room you just might not have met before! You'll have five minutes to talk to them and get to know them, just enough time for a good – or bad – first impression. After that, one of us will blow the whistle, and you'll go to the next numbered table. And on and on, until it's all over! By then, you might have found someone you're interested in, either as a friend, a potential love interest, or even just someone you really don't want to see again.

To keep track of it all, there's a space beside the number to write down the name of the person you're talking to and anything else you might have learned about them. And maybe by the end, you can write down a no, a yes, or an oh yes.

Try not to be too vague about it and we'll give you your matches at some point in the future.

[Teddy grins after that, a happy and excited one.] Remember, this is all about having fun and meeting new people! If you want to take a break, get bored, or don't have a partner, refreshments are on that side of the room [He gestures to the side, showing off the assorted foods and the cookies that he and Ororo spent a good part of the night baking.], or you can come up and talk to us! We're just the supervisors here, after all.

[He takes a step back after that, his attention going to Billy, his way of telling him to give the signal.] Billy?

[Billy gives a small wave, remaining on his table. Teddy did the hard part, after all.] There's a lounge, too, if we're not interesting enough. You might meet somebody there you're not paired with and find a new friend, so give it a shot.

That's pretty much it, so everyone can go on and head to your first table, and we'll blow the whistle in one minute. Thanks for coming, and try to have fun!

[He is so, so over-dressed. This suit he's in is more than everyone else is wearing and the tie is starting to feel constricting the longer the night goes on, even if he did tie it perfectly. And his hair has by now reverted to its natural, unruly, form. At least he managed to get a soda.

Aaaand... next table. Another romance. Err- Okay, he can do this, even if it's another pretty blonde girl]

Ossu. [Oh wait, she might] I got a soda, want me to go get you one?

[Before he actually sits down, his tail shifting behind him]

Cross was still trying to find all the people he had on his list. Even while Luceti was a small place, regrettably, there were still a lot of people in it. Either way this still was a good opportunity to meet new people.

That's when he spots a name on this girl's tag that matches one on his list. Whoa, this girl as tall. But, whatever. Might as well say hi, right?

"You're Asami, right? I think we're on my list."

[Perhaps Shiemi isn't looking for romance either, yet her intentions still may not match Gai's. Quickly she hurries into a chair across from Gai, with a cookie sticking out of her mouth from the refreshment table. She smiles, gives him an apologetic wave, and begins to introduce herself.]

Hello, my name is Shiemi Moriyama. I've been here a few months under two years, and back home I was training to become an exorcist. It's nice to meet you!

[Is... this how you're supposed to do it? Being stuck in your house for most of your life due to poor health doesn't really lend well to knowing how to "speed date." Or date at all, really. Nervously Shiemi brushes the crumbs from her cookie off of her tuxedo while she waits for Gai's response.]

[Shiemi, this turn, actually goes to meet Luke. Before sitting at the table the girl pauses. She can't help staring at Luke for a few moments. An unhappy red head before her? Has she seen something similar to this before? She shakes her head to dismiss the thought. It's something sore she doesn't want to think about. Instead she'll put on the best smile she can manage, and sit across from Luke.]

Hello, I'm Shiemi! You- you're Luke, right? It's nice to meet you.
[She's not quite sure if they had spoken before. It's possible she simply noticed his entries in the journal once or twice before.]

Mhm, it should be fun. We better make the most of our five minutes though.

[He sits down across from Prim. He better make the most of this time. After all, he can't catch his friends like Pokemon.]

Nice to meet you too. As for this whole, uh, dating slash lets meet friends thing? Nope. Not like this anyways.

[Leaning back in his seat a bit he gives her a curious look.]

So, what stuff are you into?

[Oh... well... now Eley feels a bit put out. Had he upset him somehow? Was he actively looking for something that the Spirit simply didn't understand? He didn't want to sit around doing nothing for the next few minutes so he decides to ask.]

Is there something you are looking for?

[The comment makes him look instantly and well...it's enough to embarrass him. She said and looked nice while she said it, but...]

I sort of...only found out last minute I was on this thing. Didn't get much time to comb my hair, not like it stays neat for long anyways.

[Cross was pretty unsure about this all too. He doesn't really get this whole dating thing still and while he's been trying to get a better grip on it, it's still lost on what he's supposed to do.

For the time being however, he'll just act like he usually does.

When Hinata takes a seat across from him there's already that dorky grin on his face.]

Oh, hey Hinata! Didn't know you'd be here.

[The Forgemaster takes his seat, wearing a smile on the verge of a laugh as he arches a brow. He glances left and right to gauge the reaction of an invisible audience before his gaze falls on the man once more.] Have you gone mad?

[Well, he can appreciate a spirited man.]

[Oh boy - no truer words spoken as Isaac slides into his seat, here on business.]

Ah, Tsuzuki -- [He drawls with expertly feigned warmth, hands spread.] A pleasure, truly.

[Gold was all over this event the moment he'd heard about it. He was so down with it, not only had he signed up himself, he signed up a couple of his housemates too without their permission! He was always down with meeting new friends, and if one of those new friends just so happened to become more than friends, then, well... Hey, he's not going to complain.

Gold, sadly, made no effort to dress up, coming in his usual attire. But hey, he feels he looks good anyway and that's what counts, right? Right.

He'll be alternating between doing one of three things:

a) seeking out his romantic partners Anise, Artemis, Bulla, Crystal, Flora, Hinata, Korra, Laura, Pilouette, Shiemi, Yellow, and Zatanna
b) seeking out his friendship partners Aang, Aleos, Cross, Elizabeth (Persona), Freyjadour, Hisoka, Ion, Joshua, Primrose, Rei Hino, Rin, Tear, and Xavin
c) Filling on more of those rainbow cookies than is probably safe for human consumption.

[No sooner has Isaac arrived at the table and he extends an arm to take a glass with a pretty little smile, headache be damned. But he does not help himself to a swig as he slouches deeply into his seat and crosses his leg. First is always to sample the smallest sip for poisons familiar to him before swallowing or spitting accordingly. An old habit done unthinkingly.]

Now what is it you hope to achieve, plying me with drink?

[He laughs huskily, eying him over the rim of his glass.]

[Saleh isn't sure who signed him up for this, but he's attending just out of sheer curiosity. He arrives in his normal attire, because what is being formal?]

[Isamu didn't sign himself up for this, and the list of people who would have is fairly small. (He's looking at you, Pascal.) Still, at least he seems to have been partnered up with girls when it came to the important things, so this might not be all that bad of an opportunity.

The young man took a seat across from the first of his "dates" and gave her a smile.]

Hey, I think I've seen you around, but you're going to have to remind me of your name.

[Asbel... had felt admittedly unsure about attending the whole thing. He didn't feel like he was ready to jump back into the market, and just getting signed up for something without his permission? Didn't quite sit right with him. But Pascal seemed so enthusiastic about it, and it was definitely something Richard needed (whether he'd admit it or not)... what kind of friend would he be to not go as well?

He managed to dress himself up nicely, coming in a white dress shirt and white pants, with his hair combed back instead of its usual messy mop. He mostly sticks to just sitting at whatever table he needs to be at, and isn't as proactive about seeking out his pairs as some others might be. But anyone he meets he absolutely won't turn away.

His romantic partners are Adalinda, Adele, Anise, Asami, Cloche, Elizabeth (Bioshock), Korra, Laura, Sabriel, and Shiemi.
His friendship partners are Aang, Barnaby, Cross, Elizabeth (Persona), Fayt, Grune, Hisoka, Isamu, Kouki, Loki, Jade, Joshua, Maron, Okita, Pascal, Primrose, Richard, Tsuzuki, and Twilight Sparkle.

I do not mean that I am without my own desires. It was simply never in my design to go after such things. Since gaining emotions and coming here however, I have been exposed to many new things. I suppose that may have influenced me somewhat.

Besides, I meant more on a... romantic level. I thought perhaps you were disappointed with my being less than eager.

[He still wasn't actively pursuing his desires and he was sure he could live perfectly fine without doing so, but he was aware that they were there, quietly lingering in the back of his mind until opportunities arose for him to take them.]

[She fiddles with her glasses a little. Maybe this isn't bad. She knows Rin. This isn't weird! ...Okay, it is weird. But maybe they'll laugh about it later. She forces a grin and lets out a nervous little laugh.]

This is like, um, kind of unexpected, huh?

[Pilouette has been a little nervous through this whole thing, but she's determined to see it through and meet new people! So, when she sits down across from Joshua, she does her best to smile and give him a nice greeting.]

Hello! Um, I'm Pilouette. Nice to meet you.

[And now he itches his head, messing up his bangs all the more. He frowns distinctly, not sure how to handle this...]

Oh, so we're going for improv. Good, I always find the unexpected to be enjoyable. [So long as it doesn't blow up the world or something.]

[Don is about to stand up, not wanting to spend even five minutes with this guy, but - well, that was a decent recovery.]

Do you have a problem with turtles, Rin?

Yep. We're good friends. [Helped save the world and all, kinda hard not to like people after that. She smiles warmly at him, to show it's not as big of a problem as he thinks it to be.] No, no, it's all right. He might be back home, but it's not like I'll burst into tears every time I'm reminded of that. Sure, it kinda sucks, but I'm not going to let it keep me down.
