[The rec center today is colourfully decorated, with posters and directing signs here and there to make this whole process easier. The main floor is peppered with a bunch of tables and chairs pilfered from various locations (primarily the school) with two chairs facing each other per table. There's a couple of bigger tables off to the side, one for food (carrying drinks and various snacks, including Teddy and Ororo's homemade rainbow cookies), and the other with a few chairs and piles of paper everywhere. And a checklist. The checklist is important.

The desk is Billy's, and he's handing sheets of paper out to anyone who comes in and was signed up for the speed dating. Give your name, get a sheet and a name tag, go to the first desk or mingle until it starts- that's what people will be told when they arrive. Teddy's not far from the desk or the door depending on where he's needed, directing people to follow the signs, get comfortable, try some snacks- whatever they want.

Finally a lounge area has been set up with cushy chairs, couches, and the rec center's supply of games and whatnot in the corner. There is a sign for the area that says, "If you find yourself on a turn without a date, come hang out!" It's also got a picture of a weird-looking potato man hanging out, but never mind that.

When everything is ready and people are good to go, Teddy steps up and calls for attention, with Billy sitting on top of the table behind him for moral support (and unhelpful interruptions).]

Hey, guys – Hey! Can everyone hear me? Everyone? [...] Great!

I'm sure everyone knows why they're here. Or, you know, not, since a few of these sign-ups look a little suspicious... [He raises an eyebrow at that, but his smile remains good-natured, and his brow smooths over soon enough.] On behalf of Alliance, welcome to Luceti's very first -

- speed dating event! [Though Teddy glances at Billy for that interruption, he'd paused as if he expected it to come.] I'm Teddy, and this is Billy, and we're your hosts today. I'll try to be brief for those of you who just want to get this started already, but let's go over the rules and regulations first.

If you happened to get dragged into this without knowing what you're getting yourself into, it's basically exactly as it sounds. You might remember one of us handing you a list of numbers. Well, when Billy gives the signal, everyone will head to the table with the first number on their list, which will pair you off with someone in the room you just might not have met before! You'll have five minutes to talk to them and get to know them, just enough time for a good – or bad – first impression. After that, one of us will blow the whistle, and you'll go to the next numbered table. And on and on, until it's all over! By then, you might have found someone you're interested in, either as a friend, a potential love interest, or even just someone you really don't want to see again.

To keep track of it all, there's a space beside the number to write down the name of the person you're talking to and anything else you might have learned about them. And maybe by the end, you can write down a no, a yes, or an oh yes.

Try not to be too vague about it and we'll give you your matches at some point in the future.

[Teddy grins after that, a happy and excited one.] Remember, this is all about having fun and meeting new people! If you want to take a break, get bored, or don't have a partner, refreshments are on that side of the room [He gestures to the side, showing off the assorted foods and the cookies that he and Ororo spent a good part of the night baking.], or you can come up and talk to us! We're just the supervisors here, after all.

[He takes a step back after that, his attention going to Billy, his way of telling him to give the signal.] Billy?

[Billy gives a small wave, remaining on his table. Teddy did the hard part, after all.] There's a lounge, too, if we're not interesting enough. You might meet somebody there you're not paired with and find a new friend, so give it a shot.

That's pretty much it, so everyone can go on and head to your first table, and we'll blow the whistle in one minute. Thanks for coming, and try to have fun!

[Rin got here through a series of unfortunate events. Masaomi signed Shiemi up, told her, and she thought it was a good idea to sign Rin up to see him make some more friends. Mercifully, he's not in a romance position with guys (that would be awkward to explain) but he did want to look... presentable?

As such he's wearing a suit and tried to comb up his hair. His hair is naturally unruly though and thus it just looks a little silly, and as he sweats his way through way, way too many people it'll look messier as the day goes on no doubt.

Also his tail is exposed because he just doesn't hide that in Luceti. So... surprise!

[Don can't help noticing the guy with the tail, because people who don't have tails just look so weird. He won't mention it though, because that's kind of awkward.]

[You want awkward? Awkward is supplied, because while he's released this time around it's for a Friendship thing and not another date (oy vey, the dates...) upon seeing the guy he wonders how he missed him earlier and before he can stop himself he observes-]

[Wow, guy. Normally Don would have the self-control to not facepalm at that, but life has been stressful lately and he just can't stop himself.]

You're not exactly human either.

Oh hey, Rin.

[Bulla takes a seat across from him. He's wound up as one of her romantic matches, which is slightly awkward since they already are acquainted and have sparred together. But that doesn't mean she can't stop over and chat. He's made an effort to dress up, she notes.]

Bulla- hey. Yeah, I guess so. [Sheepishly. He looks down and- then realizes she's a romantic match for him. Not sure what to think of that, he instead sighs and-] You?

I think Billy and Teddy did a great job organizing this.

[Seriously, they got quite the turnout. She's impressed with their organizational skills. It also gives them something less awkward to discuss.]

So, how have you been lately?

[Introducing herself to strangers has gotten a little easier as time has progressed, and looking at her paper, she sees that this is her next table. She looks over at the young man and can see that his hair is very unruly and he has a tail.

She is surprised by the extra appendage, but she is determined to not be rude and point it out, because how could it be anything but his own?]

H-hello, are you Okumura-kun?

[And this girl looks... really nice. And has odd eyes. He tries not to focus on either of those that much, instead just standing up so he can give a light bow which is probably over polite, but he's dressed in a suit anyway, so he might as well try to go the full mile]

Ye-yeah, that's me. Hi- And you're uh... Hinata [...He should do an honorific- there's a weird pause before] -san, right?

[She returns the bow, surprised and pleased to see that someone else does that and she won't seem so out of place with her formality.]

Yes, I am Hyuuga Hinata. Please, take care of me while we are acquainted.

[Sitting down, Isamu takes a moment to blink at the person in front of him.]

Oh hey, I know you already. Does that mean I can go?

[She might have gotten someone she already knows on her list, but that doesn't mean she's going to skip out on saying hello.]

Hey, Rin, isn't this place totally great?! I've met like- Dude. Didja get a drink thrown at you or somethin'?

[His hair is looking a little on the silly/sweaty side.]

[He answers this with a sigh. He should really loosen this tie, but that would look lame. But comfort... Hm]

[With that out of the way, Pascal plops down into the seat opposite Rin and shuffles around for a second or two to get comfortable.]

Sooo yeah, this is great and stuff. How're you getting on?

[ You know, Rin, you did a really good job of distracting from the tail with your suit. Well played. Joshua appreciates the strategy as he settles in across from him. ]

[Between things is where Cloche sees Rin. Being in a pretty good mood and generally feeling pretty happy about the way the day has gone, Cloche elects to be playful in regards to Rin (as much as she knows how to be) by sneaking up behind him and placing her hands over his eyes.

There are a couple things that could potentially give her away: the fact that she's trying to stifle some giggles, the fact that there is some... part of her upper body against his back, and if he's ever noticed, the smell of perfume she wears.

She'll still stay silent other than the stifled laughter, because if she speaks she'd give herself away completely. She can't have that!]

-Wha?! Who's there?! [He doesn't want to jerk away or anything, because it might hurt this girl -? yes, girl. But it's a genuinely surprised reaction with a bit of flailing, given he didn't even notice her. Ooops]

[Alright, Rei has to stifle a bit of a laugh, carefully hidden behind the sleeves of her miko's robes. Rin's unruly hair is pretty amusing and she really thinks it's just kind of adorably silly. Now, the tail and the rest of him is enough to make her feel alright talking with him, teenage boy or not he's not ordinary.

Eyeing her list, she takes a seat with a faint smile.]

Hello there. I'm Rei. Rei Hino.

[Man he's said "nice to meet you" so many times tonight it almost doesn't seem real, anymore. Oh well, this is... oh, it's not romance. Another friend thing. Okay, this is less pressure]

[Aang soon finds himself at his table - dressed for a change in some semi-formal Earthy-y clothes. Which probably makes the arrow stand out more. This guy looks friendly enough - Aang just gives a friendly wave.]
