Who: Gai, Elizabeth, and all invited (and possibly some uninvited) guests
What: A wedding!
When: Just before sunset on June 30th
Where: The beach
Summary: Finally, after much planning, pre-wedding jitters, and ice cream consumed, this is it. The big day. Gai and Elizabeth are finally getting married. (Never mind the fact they've been technically married since the draft... shhhh.)
Rating: Keep it G, people, this is a public venue.

[The ocean has returned, the day is clear and sunny, and wedding fever is back in the air.]

[This time the location is the beach, and between the setting sun, the waves, and the decor there is no lack of ambiance. little battery-powered votives in paper lanters litter the space, and larger lanterns line a yellow petal aisle that leads up to a decorative arch with a few chairs. Over to the side is the reception set up, which looks like it can accommodate more guests than the ceremony. Frames draped with chiffon and lit with little electric light strings indicate both food and bar/drink areas, and similar setups surround both small and large tables for seating, lit both with electric lights and votives in varying glass jars. And of course, there’s music and an open floor for dancing.]

((OOC: Close CR/specifically invited friends are welcome at the ceremony, but the party is definitely for anyone who wants to come see the spectacle or welcome back the ocean! ♥ ))

[At least this time the dancing will not be on a table-- not that Gai would really object if it were, but he's pretty sure that isn't proper etiquette for a first dance with one's new bride. Plus he doesn't really need to let Booker and the Luteces know that they HAVE danced on a table before.

No, he's going to do this properly, which means approaching Elizabeth and giving her a slight bow. He isn't going to hide the playful smile on his face as he does so, though.]

May I have this dance?

[Oh Elizabeth sees that smile, Gai. She has one of her own, of course, because this would be their first dance as a married couple. That's where most of her excitement is coming from, but the theatrics do make her smile wider.]

Of course, darling. [She giggles and takes his hand before pulling him gently in the direction of the dance floor.]

[Elizabeth can pull as much as she likes; Gai will just let her lead him out onto the floor, smiling the entire way. The nerve-wracking part is over and they're officially married, so all of his earlier worries are far from his mind and he just wants to enjoy himself for the time being.]

Too bad this isn't quite as exciting as a table.

[He couldn't help himself.]

I think it's exciting. [Elizabeth smiles as she puts her hand on Gai's shoulder.] It's our first dance as husband and wife. I'm going to be excited about all of our firsts, even if we've already done more exciting, riskier things.

[His hand immediately settles on her waist to pull her close into the proper position for dancing... maybe a little closer than is strictly necessary, but it is their wedding and this is their first dance, as she'd said.]

You shouldn't say that to me until after the reception is over if you don't want me getting very bad ideas.

You're only saying that because someone came back to Luceti right as our agreed upon dry spell started. [She says that, but she settles herself right against Gai with her head on his shoulder. Close as close can be, but in this formation Booker and Robert couldn't claim to be unsettled by the tension between them.]

Not my fault the Malnosso had terrible timing for their missions.

[It is close, but in a way that no one can chastise them for, Booker and Robert included. The first dance is a tradition; as long as they don't get visibly gropey, everything should be fine.

Including the fact that they're essentially pressed right up against each other now.]

[Yep.]

Is this our first fight? [She laughs and shifts so she can look up at him.] Because I'm excited for that, too, you know.

Not a chance. I'd make that a lot more exciting than this too.

[He would lean down to kiss her, but he's well aware of the fact that they likely have more than a few pairs of eyes on them right now.

So instead she gets a light kiss brushed to the top of her head, perfectly acceptable for a public setting.]

[That makes her grin and laugh quietly, too. She basks for a moment in the feeling of Gai's lips on her forehead before answering.]

I'll try to prepare myself, then.

[She sways with the music for a few moments.] So was the dress worth the wait?

[Gai lets out a quiet laugh of his own, matching her movements to the music.]

And then some. It's perfect for you.

You looked unbelievably perfect standing across from me, too. I felt like I was marrying a smiling Adonis in a white suit.

[He laughs again.]

You're just saying that because the sun made it hard to see how much the wind was blowing my hair around.

And you're just saying the dress was perfect because it's big and white and big. [She laughs back and bodily shoves him a little.] And fluffy.

And it makes your figure look fantastic.

[Hey, at least he's being honest. He'll take being shoved as a tradeoff.]

It does, doesn't it? [She'll take the compliment, fiiine.] I am wearing a little help in that department, though...

[Now it's Gai's turn to give a decidedly melodramatic sigh.]

I should've known it was too good to be true.

[Elizabeth, predictably, lets out a mock-offended sound and smacks Gai's shoulder.] Gai! I didn't know you were so disappointed by my natural shape.

Who said anything about that?

[He's fighting to keep a straight face, difficult though it may be.]

I was referring to that monstrosity otherwise known as a corset.

Ohh... [Elizabeth has to fight to keep a straight face too.]

Well, I did bring up the possibility with my dressmakers, but they said a 'Merry Widow' was a better idea.

[Softer:] I did promise that I wouldn't wear it again if you got it off of me. I'm sticking to that.

I'm definitely not going to ask if that name has any significance to it unless it's the ironic kind. I don't want to hear that it's named that because it's even harder to get off than a corset.

[He's still smiling, though.]

[Elizabeth laughs.] Well it was harder for me to get on, if that gives you any idea. There are quite a few hooks on it.

But it did give me quite a... [She raises her eyebrows and looks down at her chest with just her eyes.] Lift.

So I noticed.

[And, because he can't really help it when Elizabeth is looking there herself, he lets his own eyes drift down to her chest. At least he is still behaving himself and not touching!]

Oh so that's what you noticed when I appeared at the end of the aisle.

[She pokes Gai's chin up, trying to pass it off as a cutesy touch but Elizabeth knows exactly where Gai's looking.]

Hey, cut me some slack. I couldn't even see them from up at the altar.

[Chuckling, he allows her to tip his head back up and direct his gaze to her face rather than her chest.]
