A walk? [Caesar tilts his head. This seems like a good opportunity...] May I go with you?

[He blinks in slight confusion, heading for the door.] I suppose. Why?

No reason. [He just thinks it'd be nice to take a walk with his brother. Pleased with this answer, he follows after Albert.] I'll have to put my dog away, though.

[...he might be teasing him for what he said the other day.]

[Albert shrugs, either not catching the joke or ignoring it.] Hurry up. I want to go.

[He's impatient. To go on a walk. And then he's outside.]

[So impatient. Caesar doesn't say anything, though. He just shakes his head and follows his brother, making sure to shut and lock the door behind them.

Kogoro was still sitting on the porch until they returned. He wanders up to Albert and barks at him.]

[Albert startles out of his impatience when Kogoro barks at him, and he looks at the dog. What does he want?]

Your dog is barking at me, Caesar.

Are you scared? [...he really can't help teasing him. Either way, once the door is locked, he steps forward to pick Kogoro up. If Albert is so impatient, he doesn't have the time to hope that Kogoro will listen to him when he tells him to follow.] Let's go put him away.

Fine. [Albert frowns after Caesar, but follows him as far as down the porch steps for putting Kogoro away. Then he's walking off towards the forest.]

[He notices Albert stop near the porch steps when he starts making his way to the stable with Kogoro, but he doesn't notice when Albert wanders off. He shuts the door to the stable once the dog is inside, and when he looks up, he blinks. Albert is not near the steps like he was a few moments ago. And he's not near the stable, either.

...oh dear.]

[He wasn't really intending to run off on Caesar, no. But it seemed like a much better idea than waiting any longer. So Albert walks into the forest, taking a deep breath of the lush greenery as he climbs up onto that fallen log from earlier.

...What? He's short and he needs to look around.]

[It was a good thing, at least, that Caesar had glanced at Albert earlier as he was approaching the house. He hadn't taken the road home, he remembered, so if Albert wanted to take a walk, he might not be taking the road, either, right? ...well. Hopefully. So Caesar starts wandering off in the direction that Albert had come from earlier.]

Albert?

[Albert rocks on his heels as he stands on the log, somehow managing not to fall right off. When he hears Caesar's voice, he turns around and jumps off the log, running through the leafy brush and over to a gnarled tree. He climbs its twisted trunk, aware enough to marvel at his own deftness and contentedness. It seems so natural to want to be out here, amongst the trees.]

[Caesar continues to look around when he hears no response, but he can't help feeling slightly embarrassed about all of this. His brother ran off on him. He lost his brother. Ugh.

He notes the sound of the leaves rustling, and decides to follow after it, but he's not moving as fast as Albert had. He lost his little big brother in the forest. What the heck, man.]

[As Albert manages to pull himself up onto a branch, he takes a seat and flutters his wings a bit. It's not an especially high tree, maybe ten feet or so, but he doesn't recall ever climbing a tree before. Not like this.

He laughs a little, calling out to his brother who he can't yet see.]

Caesar!

[The laughter takes him by surprise, but hearing his name being called helps him to figure out where his brother might be. He isn't expecting him to be in a tree, though, so he isn't looking up—Caesar just thinks he might be hiding somewhere. He calls out to him again.]

Where are you, Albert?

Up here!

[He probably shouldn't be so jovial about all of this. But between the odd comfortableness with the trees and his own amusement over having managed this feat, he can't keep the smile off his face.]

[That's when Caesar looks up, and after a moment, he finally spots his brother. With a smile on his face. Which only seems a little out of place when he remembered how grumpy his brother had been near the house.

...well.]

There you are. I, um... I didn't know you liked climbing trees, Albert.

I've never climbed a tree before. [He swings his legs as he sits on his perch, looking down at Caesar.]

You haven't? [...wow. He had climbed that tree really fast for someone who'd never done that before.] You're really good at it.

[But maybe that wasn't very surprising. His older brother was good at a lot of things, after all. Even so, it was a little strange.]

You should come up here. You've climbed trees before, right?

[He uses one hand to steady himself against the tree trunk, then climbs to his feet so he's standing on the branch.]

Of course I've climbed trees before. Way more than you have. [He glances at the trunk of the tree. It definitely wouldn't be difficult to climb up and join him. And, well... he did invite him up.] Be careful, all right?

[With that, he starts climbing up the tree himself. The branch seems to support Albert just fine, but he won't take his chances in case it can't hold up the both of them. So he climbs up to the next branch just above Albert's.]

[Albert watches Caesar climb up, taking note of how Caesar places himself and shifts his weight to get higher up in the tree. He reaches up and just manages to touch the branch that Caesar has chosen.]

This is interesting.

[He looks down at his brother.]

Why do you say that?

You know I'm not so impulsive as to climb a tree like this. And yet I did.

[Can he grasp the branch? He stands on his tiptoes, but no, it's a thick branch.]

You're really enjoying it, too. [And that was definitely unusual. But as long as it wasn't detrimental to his health, there was no reason that he couldn't let him have some fun. At least he wasn't causing a scene where people could see him or something.] You've never even climbed a tree when you were little?
