Where: Out on the beach, centered around the teleporter/tunnel exit area. But it feels like July out there! Ain't that just the shit?

Long Ago In A Distant Land, Akai, the fully functional fonbot, unleashed a fairly standard mod post. But a foolish player kept asking questions and come on, do you really need to know that much? Now everyone wants to play out their ships and get into fruit shenanigans and undo to evil that is AKAI.

OH YEAH! So like, assume there is stands (or you know, beach-appropriate huts) here and there that are stocked up on bathing suits (and curtains you can change behind), stands with beverages, and snacks. Nobody's really operating them, new stuff just gets Shifted there (BUT ONLY IF YOU'RE NOT WATCHING). The Malnosso are the most considerate bro-ginization ever.

[Where there is a gathering of people, one is almost certain to find Mac among them. Lo and behold, he has shown up in t-shirt and swim trunks, keen on taking advantage of the ridiculously good weather (and hoping to bump into Firo, his crush). But short of running for the shoreline, he actually finds himself distracted by the sight of the trees and the curious fruit growing on them.

...Hm. Maybe he should climb up and get one. It looks like it would be fun, if nothing else.]

Be careful. [Ami's warning comes gently, and she waits near the base of the tree, craning her neck to see Mac among the branches.]

They look delicious, don't they?

[He glances downwards, one of his arms and both his legs locked around the trunk of the tree.] Hey, Ami! Yeah, they's lookin' pretty sweet, huh? It's been a while since I climbed somethin' like this so I thought, why not, y'know? [Straining to reach for one of the fruits, he manages to pluck one off.]

Here - catch! [When he's sure he has her attention, he gently tosses the fruit in her direction before snatching one for himself and very carefully making his way down, half-climbing, half-sliding. The bark, thankfully, isn't rough. He lets out a breath when he touches down onto the sand.] Phew. Hope these taste as good as they look!

[Ami flusters, but manages to catch the fruit; she has decent reflexes, apparently.]

I got it all!

Do you know what they are? I don't think I've seen them before, even here.

[He inspects it more closely, hefting it and appreciating its weight in his palm.] Ain't real sure, but I saw a bunch a' people eatin' it an' they look okay. Nobody turned blue or nothin'. [A little laugh.] Smells great, too. [He holds it to his nose, breathing in.]

They shouldn't eat strange food! [Worry, worry. But it turned out alright, so...]

But since it seems alright, shall we try a little bit?

Yeah - that's what I got 'em for. [Mac then takes a bite as casually as he would an apple, chewing thoughtfully.] Hey, not bad at all- -

[A piece falls out of his mouth while he's talking. Oops.] ...Sorry. [He apologizes, laughingly.]

[Ami just smiles; there isn't really anything to say that won't draw attention to the... piece of apple... instead of letting them forget about it.]

Here; shall we split it up?

[He shrugs lightly.] Sure; I don' mind none.

[Ami holds her hands out, cupped, for a piece, with a little nod.]

[He pries his fruit in half with a juicy squelch and hands her the unbitten part.]

[Ami takes the piece in her hands, and tries it. It's sweet, and refreshing. Somehow her smile grows as she looks at Mac.]

[He blinks back, breaking into a genuinely happy grin tinged with adolescent derpiness.] Great, huh...?

[And Kazooie is totally willing to help him with that fruit if he does choose to climb to it. This is reminding her of a certain silly bear...]

Hey, Mac! Gimme one of those too while you're up there!

[Nope, no issues with ordering people around. Though it doesn't have quite the same usual bossy tone - Kazooie's a lot happier today than she usually is.]

You got it, Kazooie! [While hugging the trunk of the tree, he frees up an arm to stretch and pick off two fruits from a far branch.]

Can y'catch 'em if I toss 'em down? [Her wings do not look like they would be good for grabbing things, but maybe there would be another way.]

[Good thing that Mac is so permissive...]

Of course! Toss 'em my way! [And she holds her wings out in a strange kind of feathery basket.]

[Oh, that works!]

Here's one! [He tosses the first, trying to have it tumble squarely into that feathery baseball glove. And then the second follows soon after.] Heads up!

Score! [And Kazooie gestures exaggeratedly with her cupped wings, the fruit rolling to a stop in the middle of them. It looks kind of silly, but it's effective!]

I think that should be at least ten points.

Nice! [The little guy then half-slides, half-clambers down the tree trunk, brushing bits of bark off his hands when he's back on solid ground.]

[As soon as the boxer gets close, the breegull offers one of the fruits up to him between her feathers.]

Bottoms up! These ones smell really good.

[Accepting it, he brings it to his nose and sniffs it appraisingly.] Mmm. I ain't too nuts for fruit, usually, but y'right - this stuff does smell real nice. Cheers, man. [He bumps his fruit against Kazooie's and then takes a bite.]

[Kazooie, by contrast, just takes her fruit and chomps - pretty much swallowing half the fruit in one gulp. Table manners? What're those?]

[Laughingly, he answers, with juice dribbling down his chin:] I ain't even sure what that tastes like an' I agree with ya. Oh man. Should I go back up there an' get s'more?
