[Not your fault Katara doesn't like talking about her problems, Haruhi. At least not in a way where she actually has to come talk with someone who's essentially just a friendly acquaintance about it. She'd wanted to know about Japan and... she'd found out. How much more could she really say without violating a confidence?

...I don't know if there's much to sort out. He... feels for me in a way that I don't feel for him. There's nothing I can do about that.

I dated dozens of losers in middle school and I didn't love a single one of them. I've had other people be in love with me while we were friends. Love's a mental illness, you know, and it can manifest in more ways than you can ever count and can infect everyone around you.

I'm not saying that feelings can't sometime conflict and be complicated - I know that they can. But love isn't a mental illness, and when you know what you feel for someone, even if circumstances are difficult the feeling really is that simple.
