Where: The Southern Farmlands
Summary: See here for overall details.
Rating: Probably gonna be gorey in places :|a
DOESN'T NEED A CUT. People should know how this works, if not, just follow other people's lead. I'm gonna set up some strategist threads at the top, for the four strategists to use if they want to, otherwise people should start their own threads.
((Mod Note: Since this has been asked a few times, just fyi, the livestock do not talk. Happy hunting!))

Makeshift Medical Center any day
Or most definately an entire pot of coffee.
Despite his general calm and serene appearance, the continued slight grim set to Trafalgar Law's lips makes it clear how aware he is to how serious things are outside. He puts on a smile when attending to patients (and some of you are becoming rather unsettling repeat customers, and he is becoming more blunt as a result to nail it in that you folks are mortal and you will die if you keep any recklessness up.) and notes that so far, for a war, things are going... well, based on what injuries he's seeing for the most part.
He also notes that, as this is war, this could change at any time. So he continues to treat, rests only when necessary, and keeps his ears open.
He'll be ready for whatever comes in his door.]
no subject
Up to about an hour ago.
He had been too hasty. There had been too many and he had made a mistake and shot one too deeply. If he hadn't acted quickly the man would have bled out, he had thought the rest had been out, but he didn't have time to double check. He should have double checked.
His quick reflexes had saved him from a lethal blow, but he still took a nasty slash to his back, one of his wings getting clipped in the process. It was still better than having it severed completely.
Of course... he also still had to take care of the dying man in front of him. Once his attacker and the wounded had been dealt with did Vash stop to think about his own injury, and by that time he had already lost a good amount of blood. Shit. And it's on his back. He can't really reach back there or see just how bad it is.
So Vash's coat is already pretty red and saturated by the time he comes stumbling in for treatment. Of course the first thing he does is look around before asking for help. Other people are probably more in need then him anyway.
...when did he get on one knee? Had he always been on that knee? He suddenly can't remember.]
no subject
... Law'd be calling you a foolish idiot if he heard what was going through your head while coming over at the sight of someone bleeding all over his floor. Oi, oi, don't play martyr in his ward.
Of all the damn stupid things... ]
Mister Vash?
[That is a command to ANSWER him so he can determine if you're still in the land of the conscious.
You're suddenly going to feel hands lifting you and guiding you to a gurney. Major laceration wound - check. Massive bloodloss - check. Wing clippage complicating injury - check.
Checking for other injuries at a brisk pace while calling for plasma and packs of red blood cells and albumin syringes.]
What happened out there?
[Get talking to him.]
no subject
Yeah, it's me.
[He's still with it, just tired. From both the blood loss and just the fact that he's been fighting almost non-stop these past couple of days.
Vash is a good patient when he knows he has to be, and this time he has to be. So he's happy to move under his own legs still once he's upright again and as long as you lead the way. Less thinking involved that way.]
I made a mistake. [And you may have not asked, but he's been shot up enough to know what most doctors tend to like to find out right away.] I'm type O.
no subject
Mistake, huh? Did you get hit anywhere else?
[He doesn't need to know the specifics. Just needs to keep you talking. Time for that coat and anything underneath to come off so he can have better access to that wound to treat it.]
Alright. Type O. Negative or positive? [He will type later to make sure. O neg was what he was going to give you anyway, but you type anyway, regardless. You type even when they swear to God. Because there's always that chance they're wrong.] Mister Vash, have you been transfused before?
[Because even regular O neg then might not be safe. The ABO and RH blood groups are not the only antigens acting as barcodes on the red blood cell to be concerned with - they are only the ones well known. In total there are over 30 different blood groups to be concerned with. And a person might develop antibodies to any of them - rarely is a person's true blood type the exact same as the donor's. And the more transfusions, the greater the chance is that those antibodies have been formed.
And some of them do kill... over a process of days, rather than near immediately like the ones of the ABO.
So while he has antigen negative O neg units that are safe for the situations like this, he needs to know just in case there IS a reaction anyway. So he can intervene before things turn deadly.
In a perfect world, he'd have someone already doing a screen for those antibodies. But.
This is war.]

[It really isn't so bad. His quick movements saved him from anything crippling. It was the waiting so long and the blood loss that has been his main problem. Not to mention he had his wings strapped down to his back. The damage to that is what is making him so sick.
But it may look as if it was starting to heal already. And if Law happened to be around to see some of Vash's earlier scrapes from the days before, they may be a little hard to pick out now. With the power cap down Vash's body can work a little better at it's quick healing.]
A few small cuts, nothing I haven't been able to take care of. [He would have tried to treat this one his own too, you know... if he could have SEEN it.]

Hey. I came to see if you need anything?

[Good humour to ease the stress a bit. He promised Katara that he'd look after you if you came his way, and here you are.
Assessing doctor is assessing. You don't look obviously injured.]
But really, come in. Get out of all that for a while.
no subject
It's not a pot or two, but I can offer a cup or two. Not as fresh as I would like, either. I got it this morning from the room.
[She hops up to sit on an empty bed, meeting his assessing gaze with a mild look of her own. Yeah, she sees that look.]
I smacked my wrist against the edge of a table earlier. It's the only injury I'm sporting, I swear. I'm not even sure it's going to bruise much.
[With that, she holds out the thermos. Relax, doc. Just for a moment. It'll be good.]
no subject
Oh, that doesn't matter. Coffee is coffee, and any is good. Thank you.
[So speaks the addict. Thermos gladly accepted. Relaaaaxing.]
Well, if it bothers you later, I'll be glad to take a look. Just be careful with it, alright?

[She opens the messenger bag and pulls a granola bar out for herself, and holds another out wordlessly for him.]
How are things going in here?

Day 3
And now, at Sanji's behest, the three of them are escorting Richard to the medical center. Maybe he can stay out of harm's way there...]
You'll be safe soon, Richard, don't worry.
no subject
Right now, he's just sort of leaning on Asbel and allowing the other to guide him... he's not entirely sure where they're going, and he doesn't much care.]
no subject
But thankfully, they're close. The makeshift center is within visible distance. He lets out a relieved mutter when he spots it - at least he knows with Law, Richard won't be dying anytime soon] Almost there.
1/3
And then he freezes.
Eyes are tracking up...
... up...
... UP...]
2/3
3/3
[They are still a ways in the distance, aren't they? And he has patients behind him and in need of protection.
His heels dig into the ground. He narrows his eyes. Presses his thumb against the tsuba of his nodachi.
ka-chink!]
no subject
When the melodist hears Law's command she spins around immediately, moving to shield Richard and Asbel as her lips moved to sing the Second Hymn as quickly as she could. Even if they're so close, she has to do everything she can to protect their group and the patients healing in the makeshift medical center. Once enough fonons have gathered she releases them in the form of another Force Field, readying herself to fight against the soldiers who managed to breach through it.]
Asbel, get him out of here, now!

Re: Makeshift Medical Center any day
But if you don't mind, Sanji would prefer to skip the pleasantries. He's running straight for the medical center, you see, with an unconscious Nami in his arms, as his legs pump him forward like there's a hell hound out for his blood.
... Maybe not a hell hound, per se, but the enemy (http://i33.tinypic.com/doazwh.png) circling above certainly has a warrant for his demise, and the the way she raises her staff is no idle threat. The air seems to stiffen around her as flicks of electricity crackle, elongate, and when the chef arches his head to see how close she is, he pales in sickening dread.
They're going to hit. Even if he were to drop, even toss Nami and launch an attack (as if he could), some of the bolts would still find their mark. He can't block them all with his body.
And he's not fast enough to outrun them.]
LAW! [He doesn't care what you do - take Nami or launch your own attack, but please, get your shitty ass out here]
1/of something
Hello, incoming threat sense.]
Sanji?
[Grabbing nodachi, running outside...]
Re: Makeshift Medical Center any day
[ka-chink.]
Done
And is launched at high speed in the path of incoming lightning.]
HURRY!
[He does not know if the slash will take the creature out. It was hastily aimed so he could get the second part of his attack out quickly. Which should be expanding now into a swirling blue screen between you and that creature's lightning to take the brunt of that attack.]
no subject
The chef nearly jumps at the sound, body tensing for an impact that never comes, but keeps pressing through, hitting his last burst of energy that carries him and his navigator into the medical tent; and the pounding relief damn near chokes him. Whatever Law did worked, scattering the lightning strikes away from them.
But the Azzodess is fast, if not especially strong. Most of the slash misses her, though the tail-end of it does clip her left side, and with a scream of indignation she spirals uncertainly in the sky before righting herself and readying another few shots of lightning]
no subject
His eyes narrow at the lightning.]
Hn. I don't think so.
Room.
[The tell-tale blue dome forms around the tent as lightning crashes against the energy wall, and new swirling vortexs form at each of his fingertips. Ten in total, and they're sent to various strategic points of the battlefield. Some far out, some nearby. They form small domes, only large enough barely for a man, and Law grits his teeth at the strain of maintaining all these spaces.
This is a taxing use of his power, and what's to come will be more so. But it will end this quickly and that's what's needed now.]
Shambles.
[And suddenly Law begins to flicker in his position, and appears flickering in each of the domes on the field, concentrating, with the nodachi spinning for an attack. Eleven Laws, and if Sanji looks, none of them seems quite material. Quite real.
As if Law himself was slightly out of phase with reality.
And the nodachi flashes in eleven places at the same time, multiple times, and the air is filled with slashes from every direction. No matter where the Azzodess may try to run, to dodge, to evade, there will be an attack coming to meet her.
Enjoy the blitzkrieg.]
no subject
Eleven domes. Eleven Laws. Did he duplicate himself in those controlled spaces of his? Are they real? The glint of metal certainly look sharp enough to kill, no matter which one Sanji chooses to look at. And in the next breath, when they all cut the air and send heavy slashes at a fluttering demon who looks like a vulture caught in a hurricane...
Once the sound of ripping flesh reaches his ears, Sanji turns his head away - not from a lack of nerves, but it's clear this battle is over. The last of his tension eases out. It's over.
... No. No it's not. Abruptly, everything floods back and curls in his stomach like a rough stone, sending Sanji pacing anxiously in place. Nami's here, but he left Noel and Sayo back there.
Shit. He needs to -- Nami will be safe with Law, he's sure of that. But he needs to go back.]
Oi. [he has to swallow a breath and steady some of his breathing] Where do I... [He looks down at Nami, pale and quiet. Another deep breath] Where do I put her?
